Okie State Game Thread • Sep 29, 2018 04:30 PM

Still going run us out of the building. Defensive morale is going to go down the toilet if they score again and we don't.

Okie State Game Thread • Sep 29, 2018 04:24 PM

Indiana struggling early. Clemson struggling early as well

Okie State Game Thread • Sep 29, 2018 04:24 PM

@BShark for a team that was expected to be legit top 10, its been ugly

Okie State Game Thread • Sep 29, 2018 04:24 PM

WVU may have a real shot at the playoffs

Okie State Game Thread • Sep 29, 2018 04:23 PM

MSU has really sucked.

Okie State Game Thread • Sep 29, 2018 04:22 PM

Cool. I think they may finally have the QB thing finally figured out. Bender is the 3rd best QB for this particular team.

Okie State Game Thread • Sep 29, 2018 04:21 PM

Kendrick has to be hurt then right?

Okie State Game Thread • Sep 29, 2018 04:20 PM

Stanley Starting?

CFB Week 5 - Degenerates Thread • Sep 29, 2018 03:34 PM

Alright, I hit on 2 of those 3 picks for the early games. (I myself didn't bet on the Memphis - Tulane game, as I said I figured they were the most likely to cover.)

  • TAMU -20.5
  • Michigan - 11.5
  • Coastal Carolina v Troy O/U 54 - Over
  • Florida +241
  • Okie State - 18.5
  • North Texas - 6.5
  • Toledo v Fresno St. O/U 60 - Over
  • Tennessee v Georgia O/U 49 - Over

  • Cincy v UConn O/U 56 - Over
Late Night Visitor List • Sep 28, 2018 10:28 PM

@FarmerJayhawk It's different going against grown ass men who have been hitting the weights for 2-3 years though. Neither are built like gladiators (De Sousa) and Bill hasn't exactly been the best with frosh bigs... I'm just voicing concerns. Odds are both will be capable rebounders and it won't be an issue.

Late Night Visitor List • Sep 28, 2018 07:46 PM

@FarmerJayhawk I just don't think either will be physically capable of guarding and rebounding well enough to play them together. But I could be wrong.

Late Night Visitor List • Sep 28, 2018 07:18 PM

I'm really curious about how the staff could be selling on JRE and Hurt playing together. Have to think it is one or the other, right?

Late Night Visitor List • Sep 28, 2018 07:15 PM

First twittering of the day from any of the 19 recruits.

Kelly Bryant transferring • Sep 28, 2018 05:58 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 Agreed, it's unlikely a up and coming coach would come here if the contract included an enormous buyout. But I still wouldn't hire a young guy without one.

Kelly Bryant transferring • Sep 28, 2018 03:29 PM

If we hire a young guy, the buyout needs to be absolutely absurd.

Kelly Bryant transferring • Sep 28, 2018 03:29 PM

I do think Les Miles would be a great hire. He is a very above average football coach who has already revived a Big XII school once in his career. If we felt good that Les had 5 more good years in him, I'd be more than ok with the hire.

I mean between his first and last seasons, Les won 7 or more games every regular season. 14 straight years in a bowl game. As @kjayhawks said, it would, at the very least, resurrect the program to the point where the next hire isn't absolutely screwed.

Kelly Bryant transferring • Sep 28, 2018 02:23 PM

I could give a damn if they hire an old fart or a young gun, I just want to see 6 wins lol.

Preseason Hype/Discussion • Sep 28, 2018 12:38 PM

Self has to be so happy. We shouldn't get outrebounded all season.

CFB Week 5 - Degenerates Thread • Sep 28, 2018 11:59 AM

@kjayhawks I think Willis still is more the level of a D2 QB. And I think VT gets shit kicked this weekend.

Kelly Bryant transferring • Sep 28, 2018 11:57 AM

@Woodrow Just unfollow the topic.

Preseason Hype/Discussion • Sep 28, 2018 01:11 AM

Even Jamari had his moments!

Preseason Hype/Discussion • Sep 28, 2018 01:11 AM

It would be nice to see guys start doing this under Self again. T-Rel, Morningstar and Lucas ALL made HUGE contributions at some point for us.

Preseason Hype/Discussion • Sep 28, 2018 01:10 AM

Still hope to see Ochai redshirt.

Tonight!!! • Sep 28, 2018 01:09 AM

I just can't get enough KU Bball. Even when the Chiefs are doing what they're doing, KU Bball is the top thing on my mind. AND WE AREN'T EVEN STARTED YET!!

Kelly Bryant transferring • Sep 28, 2018 01:08 AM

And I would bet he picks a new place before the season is even over. So unless we fire beaty immediately and hire a coach for next season, its a 0% chance. I know we could never get him, but it is still a big deal.

CFB Week 5 - Degenerates Thread • Sep 27, 2018 09:11 PM

@BShark only a 4.5 point game... Easy money

CFB Week 5 - Degenerates Thread • Sep 27, 2018 09:09 PM

@jayballer73 Lol I'm not hating. That's the beauty of sports betting. It is pure honesty. Put your money where your mouth is.

2019 Recruiting • Sep 27, 2018 06:25 PM

@BeddieKU23 I think Stanley is more of a take out of necessity. He is about the last immediate impact Wing left for us besides Precious. Other Blue Bloods are in on everyone else.

2019 Recruiting • Sep 27, 2018 06:15 PM

@BeddieKU23 It is refreshing knowing the next man up isn't Evan Manning.

A big question mark on both of those guys though. I think depending on the number of Bigs we land, we learn a lot about Silvio's scenario. If I were putting money on it, Silvio is gone.

KJ is one that I have absolutely no clue about though. I see it several different ways, but they revolve around his PT.

If KJ gets enough minutes:
- He could go pro, most likely undrafted
- He could come back for his senior year to try and get drafted
- He could come back because they don't think he is NBA good and at least end up with a degree

If KJ doesn't get enough minutes:
- He could go pro, undrafted
- He could grad transfer somewhere. Probably Memphis. And probably with both brothers, unfortunately.

Now I don't want to say that Bill is "forced" into playing him. Because Bill would never do that. But it sure would be nice if KJ played better than Vick and started instead.

2019 Recruiting • Sep 27, 2018 05:46 PM

@BeddieKU23 I really hope he redshirts. I think he has about a 0% chance of getting any run next season if we are a full 13 member squad.

CFB Week 5 - Degenerates Thread • Sep 27, 2018 05:45 PM

@jayballer73 I didn't realize Willis was getting the start at VaTech this week. I will be 100% betting against them.

CFB Week 5 - Degenerates Thread • Sep 27, 2018 04:20 PM

Alright, I am just going to pick the Thursday and Friday night games. I usually put in a big 10 game parlay as a lotto ticket each week, and they always start with Thursday games.

So here are the 3 games these next two nights:

Thursday:

  • UNC +17 v Miami -17 : Pick: Miami -17

Friday:

  • Memphis -14 v Tulane +14 : Pick: Memphis -14
  • UCLA +9.5 v Colorado -9.5 : Pick: Colorado -9.5

I'm not particularly crazy on the O/U on any of these.

If I were to pick one of the underdogs to cover, it would be Tulane. They are a tough group and they are at home. But Memphis has looked solid so far this season, and I don't know that Tulane can score with them.

Miami made a QB switch, and so I think they will come out with a ton of energy and kick the crap out of UNC.

UCLA sucks. Colorado has a legit NFL quality QB. UCLA puts up a fight the first quarter, but Colorado will score all game long and win by 20.

Tonight!!! • Sep 27, 2018 03:18 PM

Tech N9ne is personally my favorite of the last 3 to perform. But he is definitely the least famous of the 3. His "Chopper" series is crazy cool, imo.

Tonight!!! • Sep 27, 2018 02:15 PM

@JayHawkFanToo Right. So we might as well change a few more rules to make it more fun.

Tonight!!! • Sep 27, 2018 10:59 AM

No offense to women, but watching them play basketball on a 10 foot goal is not entertaining. They need to lower it do 9, or maybe even 8.5 feet. At that point, I actually think the game could be a lot more fun.

As The Little Apple Turns • Sep 27, 2018 12:56 AM

@kjayhawks That's why I said it was their fan's pipe dream.

SVI! • Sep 27, 2018 12:55 AM

That video is so impresses. Dude can't miss!

Tonight!!! • Sep 26, 2018 07:21 PM

Bill looks so skinny in that video I really thought it was the young him for a quick second at the beginning. He looks like he lost a ton of weight

There is the video of Self announcing 2 Chainz, if you wanted to see how it was going to originally be announced lol.

Late Night Visitor List • Sep 26, 2018 06:32 PM

I expect him in 2019-2020, but not 2020-2021. Would leave us with just a senior Moore unless we landed someone else, right?

And if we don't land Hampton, the person we do land is likely a program player. So I was just thinking I'd rather have a sophomore McBride coupled with a Senior Moore. And when McBride MIGHT have to take over as the main PG, he would at least be a jr.

But I could be thinking crazy things.

Late Night Visitor List • Sep 26, 2018 06:11 PM

I don't know that it impacts RJs decision, but just so we aren't left out in the cold with only Charlie at PG.

Late Night Visitor List • Sep 26, 2018 06:01 PM

Looks like we may actually need to land McBride.

SVI! • Sep 26, 2018 04:52 PM

@justanotherfan lol thanks for the link

SVI! • Sep 26, 2018 04:35 PM

@justanotherfan lol I guess it does truly make it a one of a kind item...

As The Little Apple Turns • Sep 26, 2018 04:34 PM

@justanotherfan I agree with everything you said. I'm not telling you I think they are any good.

All I'm saying, is Snyder is the type of guy who pulls a hat out of his ass and a rabbit out of that hat.

As The Little Apple Turns • Sep 26, 2018 04:18 PM

@Woodrow oh I think they suck.

But this is the stuff of Legends. It just would happen because Old Balls commanded it to. One of those unexplainable phenomena. 10 years from now KSU fans will be talking about that season where Snyder switches QBs 4 games in and magically makes it to the Conference Championship game and a BCS Bowl on the shoulders of Alex Delton.

Kelly Bryant transferring • Sep 26, 2018 03:37 PM

@JAYHAWKFAN214 Wouldn't shock me if he ended up at South Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas or LSU. But I pretty much see him ending up somewhere in the SEC.

Chip Kelly is the guy who needs to be getting on the phone with him though. Would be a good fit.

Kelly Bryant transferring • Sep 26, 2018 03:20 PM

Still you're probably right, he transfers out after the season regardless. Which is crazy.

Kelly Bryant transferring • Sep 26, 2018 03:18 PM

@BShark didn't Hurts say he was staying for this season at least?

Kelly Bryant transferring • Sep 26, 2018 03:01 PM

We won't get him due to our coaching situation. But it's big news and I wish we could land someone like him.
