That team shot .418 from deep and was putting up 82 ppg WITHOUT any scoring at the 5 lol. And ALSO only gave up 68 ppg despite having literally no rim protection. Cliff would have absolutely fucked up Ochefu, and Bill has his 2nd Natty.

UGH. I hope MJ stays so much.

The Alexander/Diallo issues hurt big time. Imagine the 15-16 team with either Sophomore Cliff or a Diallo who got to practice over the summer... Or the 16/17 team with a Junior Cliff Alexander...

17-18 we made the FF playing reclassed Silvio crucial minutes and Freshman Marcus Garrett at the 4 lol. Damn you Billy. Damn you Adidas. Damn you FBI for investigating something nobody on Earth wants tax dollars spent investigating. Damn.

The stupid bullshit we had to deal with between those four bigs with eligibility issues easily cost us another FF or Natty.

@AsadZ Ha its definitely a fluke. Most of the guys playing in Spring Training won't make the roster.

I think the thing I'm most hopeful about is that the pitching improves. It sounds like players were pretty adamant that they were being held back by the former regime. If the pitching situation isn't as bad as it seemed at the end of last season, then I think you can start that transition from a perennial loser to trying to win some games.

@drgnslayr Duke has their work cut out for them round 1. Oral Roberts is legit (old friend alert: Issac McBride really blossomed there). Oral Roberts is putting up the 3rd most points in college basketball...

And I think if Tennessee could have asked for a matchup that they could survive without Zeigler, it would be this Duke team. Tennessee can match up with them big body-wise.

But if Duke makes it to that Purdue matchup, I think you're right. I actually think Tennessee could give Purdue trouble too, but wonder if they can make it that far without Zeigler.

@BShark Yea I mean I would love to keep MAdams in '24, but I usually when there is reclass talk it gets done. And the way this one got done it feels like someone else is leaving.

If they don't make room and add two transfers they could legitimately suck next year. Not like a down year for Bill. Like a 10-11 loss team suck.

Bobby sucks. Joe sucks. For all we know at the moment, Rice sucks. CJ will not be playable as a freshman. McDowell will not be playable as a freshman. You cannot roll out Juan/Elmarko/Transfer/KJ/Udeh with that bench and expect to win the conference. That isn't going to get the job done.

@BShark Cuffe, Cam, and Zach seem like locks to leave. I ultimately think Bobby finds a different level to play at.

The rest I don't have a good feel for. Like I don't understand why Zuby would leave. I can't imagine that his camp expected to play big minutes in year one with Zach and Udeh on the roster.

Rice I could see moving on, but I think it would be a mistake on his part. He's got a chance to play big minutes next season. I really hope the staff can find a way to keep him.

Joe should be put out to pasture. Just not at KU level guy, but if he likes it here I don't know how you get him to leave lol.

I still think the bench is a bit of a mess. Absolutely no scoring on the bench basically no matter how I look at it. We need to find a guy who can be a spark off the bench.

@BShark It probably doesn't mean much, but I like that he's a lefty in the actions we run on offense. Makes you much more of a threat on both sides of the court when you have a guy who can drive the ball with his dominant hand going left.

Easily the most boring potential matchup is San Diego State vs. Virginia in the 2nd round.

I do think Purdue's got a tough road. 8/9 matchup is tough. Duke is hot right now and has the size they may actually be able to mess with Edey a bit. Filipowski is sort of his worst nightmare. Guy who is big enough to guard him, but can shoot and dribble around him.

But damn is that bottom of the Midwest bracket objectively easy. Worst 2 seed, worst 3 seed, worst 6 seed all in one bracket.

Missouri getting Utah State is hysterical. Utah State is #18 Kenpom, Mizzou is #51.

Legitimate chance Utah State is the Vegas favorite when the lines are set lol.

I do think UConn is going to have its work cut out for them game 1. Who would want to face Rick Pitino with a week to prep? lol

Our schedule is the only reason that we had a chance to be a #1 seed. If we play any weaker of a schedule we're a 2 or 3 seed.

LMAO Jim made them hire an internal guy too! I don't understand what leverage he had here... He has had 9 consecutive 9+ loss seasons. The last FF run (8 years ago) was a total fluke lol. The program went downhill basically as soon as they joined the ACC. I get that he sort of "was" Syracuse basketball, but I'd have thought after the Bernie Fine shit they'd be ready to fully move on from the Boeheim era.

EASILY would have been the best job this hiring cycle. Basically could have handpicked their next guy, but Jim had to make sure his legacy stood one way or the other I suppose.
