@approxinfinity haven't seen it yet?
@nwhawkfan said in Boy guys I really just don't know best to keep tabs:
As someone who lives in the Seattle area, I'm surprised how quickly the needle has gone from Prudence to Panic.
FYI, nearly all of the deaths in Washington state have been elderly patients with underlying conditions, most at a single suburban nursing home located nowhere near the Seattle U. campus. The actions by Chicago State and UMKC seem way over the top.
(Interesting to note that the Roos are leaving the WAC at the end of the season anyway.)
By the way, last week I had dim sum lunch at a Chinese restaurant in downtown Seattle. According to a lot of people on the Interweb, I SHOULD BE DEAD BY NOW !
I love Seattle, or atleast used to, haven't been there in awhile. Surely it can't be as bad as the media portrays, or can it?
@nwhawkfan Did you make a pilgrimage to the Cobain shrine?
I guess one of the reasons that I thought that Dot wouldn't be taken in the first round is how mistakenly low Graham was taken in the draft - and that was after 4 stellar seasons, and he has height. One thing that I did get right though is when I said that Kemba going to Boston will only help Graham.
@BShark said in Dotson or Doke or both?:
@BeddieKU23 man, I would be ssooo happy for dok if he went in the first round.
Me too. I want to see both go in the 1st round. Didn't think either one of them could do it, to be honest, but if wrong (and as I've said on numerous occasions, "it wouldn't be my first") I will be happy to have been so.
@Texas-Hawk-10 Ditto. And not out of the realm of possibility - he did great work with our bigs. Steve Robinson has been with Roy for damn near his entire career.
@BShark Neither do I.
@dylans That is what we keep hearing (less than 2 percent), yet six out of 11 have died in Washington state (around 60%). We can all only hope that that number was just a very unlucky draw. The world dropped the ball bigtime on this one - parr for course.
So, will we get something? Definitely. But what? I'm of the opinion - taking into account that we never played Preston, nor De Sousa until he was cleared by the NCAA - that we will receive only a loss of scholarships. What are you guys thinking? Remember, they still have to deal with Miller (bigtime evidence), as well as others. And then, ofcourse, there is always in the back of their minds, 'but what about Nike?'
Call me jaded, but there are many wrinkles and angles to this story, and everyone of them - when trying to predict - needs to be considered. What's going on right now? Politics, ladies and gentlemen, politics.
@BShark was right, Baylor became Baylor. Losing to TCU? Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that two straight loses?
How long do you think Boynton will last at Okie State? And,,, serious question, Kruger at OU? Will the alum settle for NCAA bids about once every two or three years?
And Baylor goes down.....
Baylor goes down!
@tundrahok kind of what I was thinking.
Who does Baylor play?
Jesus, if we can win this game we can win any - real gut check game.
Boom!
Would that have been Dave's 1st three..?
There we go, D..
Braun!
Get out with a W and try to put this game behind us.
They've totally shut us down from inside.
Gee,, wonder if K-State is motivated and seriously D-ing up. This is the kind of game that I fear in the tournament - when freezing cold from 3 (which we sometimes are).
@justanotherfan Yeah, if we played either Maryland or Florida State they could match our size, would have to knock down shots.
@mayjay Classic. "Feed me! Feed me!"
@mayjay I'm of the opinion - and I agree with you, by the way - that Coach and the school already have a pretty good idea on what the punishment is going to be, thus being able to sign Thompson among others.
@BShark That's what I thought. If you haven't seen it, check out Dr. Strangelove.
If Garrett doesn't win something is truly wrong with the universe.
P.S. - Dotson
@BShark Wasn't that Peter Sellers? Hard to beat Dr. Strangelove though, if referencing Sellers. That movie is freaking brilliant.
Question. Who could be a very tough 2 seed?
@BigBad Not that Dayton scares me, but Houston sounds good (mosquitoes not bad yet, fans will travel). Which bracket is Houston, Midwest?
@mayjay said in My NCAA Prediction . . .:
Before it begins in 3 weeks, we could well see cancellation of the whole tournament. The Coronavirus isn't going away soon, and it has taken less than a month to go from a regional epidemic causing a few travel bans to parts of China, to a major international emergency that is closing some borders, disrupting businesses, creating havoc in the stock market (over 10% down in a week), and roiling travel arrangements throughout the world. Millions in quarantine in China, thousands in Europe with parts of Italy completely closed off, and it has now spread to Brazil during Carnival and to at least 1 airline flight attendant who served hundreds before having symptoms.
I cannot see how it will play out, but so far 3 countries including Japan have closed all schools and the CDC says we need to start preparing here ("a matter of when, not if, it spreads to the US").
Now we also have it spreading to at least 1 person in California and 1 in Germany for whom no known contact with anyone positive can be traced. With test kits only available in 3 states for now, it is going to get very very strange out there.
It is not as fatal as some other diseases, but this one is pretty unique because people can be infectious before having symptoms. That is why these shutdowns are occurring on such a large scale. I can only imagine how the CDC will react to thousands of basketball fans fanning out across the country if we see very many more cases of spreading without identified vectors.
It has definitely got my attention. The world - our government included - so dropped the ball on this one (both Parties too concerned about the markets). There should have been an outright ban on travel to and from China - including connecting destinations - as soon as the first case was reported. Hell, as late as day before yesterday Air China still had flights out of NYC.
@Crimsonorblue22 not many college coaches have gone on to succeed in the NBA. It's where you go - I guess - just to bank and stain your career.
Or maybe he got tired of trying to coach a bunch of players who think that they don't need to be coached?
@BShark Belein is a perfect example of why it's not a good idea for any successful college coach to go to the NBA - Stevens is an exception, not the rule.
I think Och needs to come back to school next season. With Wilson and Enaruna, Braun (able to play 3 and in a pinch even four spots) and Ochai, Mitch and Dave frontcourt; then Garrett and Harris at pg and Thompson destroying from outside.
@BShark atleast he made one.

That’s a really small amount of weed, the weapons charge will be what gets him. Nothing to do with basketballs issue or even Les Miles. Beaty as previously stated would hide this and let it go. He has been a let down IMO anyway. Wash hands and done.
Oh it is a football issue , doesn't mean crap that Miles didn't recruit him. - -He was a Starter on the team with Miles coaching - - it's not Coach Miles fault - - but IT IS a football issue -- it's a football player from the current team, - and ya he needs to be done
Agreed. The constant excuse making gets old. Players like that need to go.
@bskeet Wilder blamed his loss on this and that, was far from gracious. And with the pathetic soundtrack entrance it makes me want him to be knocked out 7 days a week.
@approxinfinity said in Wilder/Fury:
@Woodrow he was licking (the blood off?) the other guys neck. That was just my first impression. I've never been so "first impressed". He seems better in the interview. Thanks for sharing.
I don't think that he actually licked the blood. He acted like he was, though.
@jayballer73 He did have a good game, no doubt. But I'm with you on his tendancy to disappear for long - even for several games - stretches.

@Woodrow As will Duke fans, and Kentucky fans, and Baylor fans this year. It makes me laugh how every year, each region is the hardest depending on who you talk to! I honestly feel like we usually get a pretty fair shake most years. Creating a "fair" tournament with 64 teams while considering travel costs, and most importantly ad revenue is certainly not a simple process.
ya, I was just gonna say EVERYBODY says their bracket is the hardest not just KU
Yeah, but this year - with the NCAA cloud still looming - our bracket "Is Really" going to be the hardest, and it won't be by accident.j i
How much do you want to bet against my thinking that with the NCAA investigation still looming large and though getting the #1 overall seed our bracket will be the toughest of all of them?
@kjayhawks Yeah, but it was the same last game. Maybe ESPN hasn't calibrated their broadcast time machine just yet.
@kjayhawks I hope so. Hell, I hope our entire bracket is filled with Okie States.
@kjayhawks Maybe they don't have a time machine.
@jayballer73 Yeah, hear they're calling it Cage Match 2.
@Crimsonorblue22 It's okay. I'm tough, and can take it.
@Crimsonorblue22 no shit. Really! We're good.
