@HighEliteMajor and not a one of those are true, atleast in the proven and literal sense, in regards to Adidas and its affiliation with KU.

So based on the BYU decision, how does KU escape? The BYU decision, if I’m looking at this from the KU bubble, seems to pave the way for the results we are fearing. This was activity by a booster.
In fact, Gassnola was much closer to our staff than the boosters in BYU’s situation. Gassnola was relied upon for extensive, hands on recruiting help.
Anyone think the NCAA did this to BYU as a purposeful precursor to the punishment decisions related to the Adidas issues?
Gassnola as we all know doesn’t have to talk to the NCAA. But the NCAA can pay him for info. But he can’t change his story so to speak from sworn testimony, e.g., Self didn’t know. Based on the BYU deal, the “Self didn’t know” defense is a weak one.
A booster though is directly affiliated with the university, whereas shoe companies are the big, fat gray lady that likes to give money to universities and players and who if she chose to could flat out sing but instead chooses to only hum.
@nwhawkfan Hudy was a strength and conditioning trainer, not head basketball coach. That he was affiliated with a pro team gives me reason to believe that he knows a thing or two about the job.
@jayballer73 For not only recruiting purposes but strengthening our D, a skakeup might be in order.

Awww, Ms. Cates,,, the Fast Times pool scene.... I remember it well, and actually became Judge Reinhold.

Could be we are quite stacked already with many possible returning players from this year's team. Too many unknowns at this time, and higher ranked prospects want to start, and/or don't want to be the 7th or 8th player off the bench.
I tend to agree with you, have been saying the same for awhile. With Dave returning and, who knows, maybe even Silvio (even Mitch, if he redshirts), along with Enaruna and Wilson, Braun, Garrett and perhaps Agbaji, plus McBride and Harris I am not the least bit worried. Coach will sign a few players, we all know that, and they will be gamers.
If KU gets some Love, a swing big and a combo three point shooting guard that, my friends, would be a solid class.

@jayballer73 We're playing it straight, and they're not.
Yeah, and we don't have much choice in doing so. The NCAA needs to remove its head out of its ass and wrap up their so-called investigation. Time for them to admit that they have - even if the judge had allowed access to the everything that in reality, as far as being true evidence, is nothing at all - only speculation and heresay.
Yeah, his act grew old a long time ago. I get so tired of every year regardless of who else might be at #1 hearing him rave about his dooookies and John Calipari and his wildcats. A bigtime homer....
How about Top10 busts?

Just read -- not 2020 recruit BUT - -read where Grady Dick is going to take a un-official for late night -- - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
I think Dick would be a huge pick up 😃. But seriously, looks like a baller. Yet another great in-state player that has grown up watching KU. We have got to sign those kinds of players. I'm still not giving up on Ty Berry.
Let me give it a go, ranking not skill but their importance to the KU trajectory (players that I watched) : 1) Manning, SI Cover "Oh, Danny Boy!" 2) Adonis Jordon, Roy's first recruit 3) & 4) Mark Randall and Rex Walters, helped get us past probation 5) Jacque Vaughn 6) Raef LaFrentz 7) Paul Pierce 8) Brandon Rush 9) Mario Chalmers 10) Jeff Withey
@jhawk7782 I like that Woodberry, Randall, Scott and Walters made your list. They were transistional players that helped us get over probation, and they won alot of games.
@HighEliteMajor Manning at 8?

I liked the video, but would have preferred the less-stylized version... without slo-mo... and choppy cuts. I've been claiming for quite some time that Devon would be a completely different player this year. His first year was about playing cautious, trying not to mess up. This year it is all-out ballin'!
Looks like he is a bit stronger, and he'll have to be if he wants a decent draft spot next summer. Strengthening is all about now. Once the season starts guys usually lose a bit of it because they aren't pushing heavy weights and they run off some of their mass.
Devon has a lightning fast crossover. Something I always look for in a guard. Can he blast by any defender? In this case.... YES he can! Then... will he drive past all defenders? I believe he will. It's one thing to have the ability to drive. It's another thing to have the drive to drive. My money says Devon has both and we are in for a rocket season!
We are all worried about trey scoring. I'm not. I hope we have a few guys who bust a good percentage. But I'm fine if we have a PG who will drive it to the rim every other play and score or feed one of our dunk monsters.
Trey shooting will always fail eventually. The only time the drive fails (from the right setup) is if the defense has a monster blocker. Not sure who is out there in D1 this year to fill that title. But if he's out there... let's hope that is the night we smack down some treys to offset.
I'm having fun dreaming about Devon out-driving all those who came before him... Devonte.... Frank... Tyshawn... Sherron....
That's a mighty tall order, but Devon has the tools and a razor-sharp mind. I just hope he stays focused on playing with all-out aggression!
I think he sometimes deferred to Grimes last year. I think, in some sense, they all did trying to get him involved. That won't be the case this year.
@jayballer73 I think we'll see marked improvement from him this year in all facets of his game. Having been in the system now for a full season and having a better understanding it is safe to say that the game will slow down. I'm looking forward to seeing Dave play this year.
JT Thor would be a great pick-up, and from there it would seem that we need one or two bigs (who is anyone's guess, don't seem to be in the lead for any). We need to sign atleast one long guard too, one that can shoot from anywhere.
But it seems that he doesn't quite want to transfer.

Really good posts in here.
I'm not going to say I've had a hugely successful life... but I will say I am satisfied and have peace of mind with the way my life has progressed. Like most people, I've had ups and downs.
I try not to spend time contemplating if I think someone is racist or not mostly because that isn't my job. I'm a person of faith and it isn't my job to judge. But I do have to make my way through life and I get impulses from people and go off of that because I have to maneuver through life.
I learned a long time ago.... when I was more judgmental it always backfired. I projected negative things back, like showing frustration. That did nothing but feed the situation if that person was racist or not. Why go a negative direction?
By staying focused on what I desire, I usually get what I want. I take the high road and that pretty much guarantees I blow right by those who are in the ditch. And I don't look back.
When thinking of racism Inty those who are racist. They are holding themselves back from so much in life. Giving themselves limitations. They are missing the big party in life.
I feel like our American way of life is being threatened perhaps because life has been too easy for people. People have a lot of spare time and can waste their lives away getting upset at just about any comment said. The over-dramatization is unreal... and I, like many, blame media for a lot of that because they constantly "stir the pot". It happens on both sides of the political aisle.
As a country we do best when we are truly challenged with something. When that happens, we tend to come together and get it done. Read anything about WWII and how all races came together to defeat Hitler. That's who we are... and when it counts.
So I cut my brothers and sisters in this world a lot of slack for comments and such. I know when the time comes and we all have to stand against something, like a foreign invasion, we will be together. Just wish we could all be together when the times are good!
I've come to believe that we are all - when you get right down to it - racists and or bigots in one form or the oth
But (I have a problem with education that is self-loathing, claiming theory to be fact) that is only a video.
So,,,, when is the NCAA going to wrap up its investigation? Answer : Never.... Far too many co-conspirators.
We are all - whether we admit it or not - racists and or bigots in one form or the other. That has been man's struggle since our very beginning, to somehow control a little something that is both necessary and redundant - instinct...... And now back to our regularly scheduled program.....
Yeah, well, let's hope that he doesn't allow any moss to grow on his area of the court.
DaRon Holmes out of Arizona is a guy I think we stand a good chance of signing. He is 6'8 and still growing and can play just about anywhere. Both of his parents attended KU.
@FarmerJayhawk KK Robinson would be a major get. What are your thoughts on some of the big guys (who do you think we stand a good chance of getting)? It seems with Dok and Mitch (if he doesn't redshirt) and maybe even Silvio leaving that we need to fill at the very least two scholarships in the frontcourt.
I follow trends as well, but take more stock from in who we have coming back and in what positions Coach may have stockpiled young talent.
That being said, I think that we need a power forward and center, and if we can add a couple (Thompson would be a bigtime pickup!) of long guards then I would be more than stoked.
Let's be honest, many of this past season's and current recruiting whiffs are due to our not being able to pay them much of anything while the NCAA is still sniffing around looking for something that they will not find. No bother though, our team is and will continue to be just fine.
@BShark I agree. Our returning depth in 2020 in both the back and frontcourt is going to help yet as far as signing any top 20 recruits also hurt us. Imo, we need to concentrate bigtime on recruits in the 30 to 75 range.
Okay,,,,, so much for Nix. Time to concentrate on Garcia, Love and or Thompson, and Brakefield - and add a couple of top one hundreds...
Woodrow said:
@BeddieKU23 Oh I agree 100%. Just don't see the need to come out with a list. Just go take your visit and commit.
I hope the staff is prioritizing Love and Thompson.
I hope so, too.......
Nix and Thompson or Nix and Love, would take - bigtime! - any combination of both, perhaps throwing in a Brakefield and Garcia for good measure.
@justanotherfan Well,,,, and I say good luck Hudy and thank you for your service - Next!!

I read yesterday that Nix was going to cut his list to 5 today. Has anyone seen anything on that?
Also we made the top 10 for Jaemyn Brakefield. Bot sure how big of a player KU is in that one though.
Brakefield is a big take.

@Marco Have you noticed the NCAA hasn't said a peep about us??? I am starting to think Bshark is right- a big nothing burger.
To be fair, NOA's aren't public. KU and the NCAA don't have to acknowledge one, even if one exists. That being said, I haven't heard a peep from the AD that they've received one or anticipate receiving one.
Good info, thank you.
KUSTEVE said:
@Marco Have you noticed the NCAA hasn't said a peep about us??? I am starting to think Bshark is right- a big nothing burger.
And don't forget Coach Marco @KUSTEVE, I've been saying the same for awhile now myself. Why have I been saying it? Because that is what the NCAA has on us when you really break it down, a big nothing burger - a whole lot of conjecture, speculation, he said this or that, or "hey, listen to this very vague recording! They never did pay him anything though, because Duke went all in and paid him more!" The NCAA is in way over its head, and why? Because someone else's pockets have been lined instead of just their own?
What's really crazy about the whole situation is that they act as if it's a new thing that hasn't been going on until recently, totally catching them unawares. How much did Wilt cost? How much influence does Nike have over Duke and their suddenly having the #1 bball recruiting class every year? Poor Kentucky, have to settle for #2 every year. How much money is pouring into South Carolina at Clemson, now that they are starting to become college football's Duke and Alabama becoming poor Kentucky?
I am not a S&C guy (don't need it, being so buff and all) and don't know why KU wanted to go in a different direction. Why did they? Did they want to go more lean - concentrate more on agility and speed rather than bulk - what?
@drgnslayr Agreed. The guy is as rotten as they come, but it is now all but guaranteed that the charade is over. There is no way, unless they want to appear to be totally paid off - and they very well may be - that the NCAA will not now look into Nike and their schools.
Saw the Sportscenter bottom line the other day. "But no evidence of improprieties regarding Zion Williamson or his family in regard to Duke University," said the NCAA as soon as the story broke. Lol!
@BShark Kwame has four years of eligibility left. A bit long in the tooth, though.
Look, all of the above aside, while undoubtedly helping our teams she was the strength and conditioning coach - can and will be replaced. Isn't America great? So many qualified people.
Guys, let's relax. Hudy is good, very good, and undoubtedly helped our teams - but she was the strength and conditioning coach, can and will be replaced.
@Crimsonorblue22 But why would that affect Hudy? .... (a few minutes later) Okay, sorry, I read the article - understand now.
Let's see, we'll lose Dotson and Moss, Agbaji too maybe - guys, trust me, if we sign Nix and either Thompson or Love I would not be the least bit disappointed!
That totally,,, well,,,, sucks. Oil money, folks.

If KU pushes they can get him. Robinson and McBride are tight. But he’s also down the board a ways.
I say we try to sign as high-profile a point as we can. Bill runs pretty much a three-guard set, I get that, so question. Do you think McBride and Harris are more than serviceable? I.e. can they as sophomores get us to where we want to go, which is always a conference and national 'chip? Where do you think they will play? 1, 2 or three? Who do you think we have more than just a chance to sign? If you say Nix - despite some of my posts - I would certainly not be disappointed. I want Thompson bigtime but he is a two, I'm talking PGs.
Caleb Love
I hear you, Thompson is starting to look a bit problematic, isn't he?

@drgnslayr Maybe minorities do hurt themselves quite often by overplaying the race card. That being said, though, the Rich Paul Rule (and that is what it was) was dumb and elitest, to say the least.
