@Bosthawk Wait, did you really not know this? Yes, Tom Keegan is a terrible writer. He always has been. His stuff on KU football is pretty good, but he seems utterly clueless about basketball. Case in point being his most recent article on how players don't need to play for the proverbial "light" to come on.
@jaybate-1.0 When Embiid signed with KU he was a top 100 pick. By January he was a top 50 pick. By the time the season ended Embiid was a top 5 recruit and the first or second best center in his class.
The loss to SDSU was the game before the Super Bowl. You're thinking of a different KU struggle-game routine.
@wissoxfan83 LOL! Funny that you mention that...
Oh, and just to save everyone the time of actually clicking the link and reading the article, basically, it shows that Self is unaware of pretty much any statistics related to our team. That is kind of alarming...
http://cjonline.com/sports/hawkzone/2015-12-11/ku-basketball-leading-nation-one-stat ↗
@Crimsonorblue22 God that is one of my favorite KU moments ever. By definition, Elijah Johnson absolutely ripped their hearts and held it in front of them. Beautiful moment.
@HighEliteMajor By all means, do not limit your analysis based on what a Bill Self cheerleader said. By his logic, he could just simply write, "Bill Self made the right decision. He has never been wrong, nor will he ever be. He gets paid a lot of money to coach basketball, ergo, he's infallible."
I'll bet you a tall frosty one that it's either Traylor or Lucas still. Self has shown that he's incapable of changing. Don't expect anything different.
Wow. Currently rewatching the game against Harvard. I dare anyone who thinks Diallo and Bragg are not our best options to go back and watch that game. We got stops, got blocks, tore apart the zone, etc. Diallo and Bragg can hit a jumper and teams have to acknowledge that ability. If you are going to make any argument either way, I implore you to go back and watch this game. I mean, seriously, it's comical how much better we are with Diallo and Bragg on the floor.
@JRyman Fair enough. And while it's painful to watch Landen "mud walker" Lucas play over half the game, Self's comments about defensive effort are what I find the most alarming because they demonstrate that he may not understand a very crucial, and very simple fact about a specific facet of the game, the very foundation that his program is built upon: defense.
As HEM and one other poster pointed out, when opponents are scoring around 0.8 points per possession, THAT IS A GOOD DEFENSIVE GAME. When you give up over a point per possession, as we did against Harvard, you're playing poor defense. Harvard was playing efficiently, and we let them dictate the pace of the game. The pace and the style THEY wanted to play because it suited their strengths. If they play fast and increase possessions, they turn the ball over a lot, don't play efficiently and get ran out of the gym.
It's frustrating to say the least because these things matter. They determine how Self will manage the course and flow of the game. In the case against Harvard he assumed we were playing well in the second half because the overall point total was low. We weren't. We were playing poorly. Sadly, it was 2 three pointers that bailed us out and extended the lead enough to win the game. Our strength, even in the "in case of emergency" context bailed us out. Make no mistake we would've lost that game to a decent team. That's why this "a win is a win" mentality is alarming. Because it's a reflection of what Self thinks, and it's wrong. When the season is on the line in March, that mentality leads to a loss.
And lastly, this idea that Bill Self's job is to win games? No, that's the job of coaches at Ohio State, Minnesota, Virginia Tech, Miami, etc.. This is Kansas. Make no mistake, Bill Self's job is to win national championships. To put us in the best position to win a national championship. I have not seen that in 2014, 2015, and those same tendencies are rearing their ugly heads again in the 2016 season. They are becoming a trend, and trends of these kind are scary. I think too many posters are tiptoeing around what we all know to be true. These kinds of problems far too often lead to our downfall in March. You can sit here and tell yourself "a win is a win," and "it's not a tournament game. It's only December." But we know that to be false. Of course this team will get better. And when we peak, look out. But this happens too often to overlook. These kinds of shortcomings come back to haunt us in March and when we get down 10 to a hot shooting Iona (or somebody) in the second half, puckering up and going with "bad ball" (the most horrendous strategy ever devised) again, leads to a disappointing loss and an early exit from the tournament.
But I cannot emphasize enough, while I'm frustrated about playing time, I'm significantly more frustrated about what Self considers a good game because it appears he simply doesn't know. And after what I saw last year, ya know, when Self discounted our achievements and discounted how well we were playing because he didn't like it, I do not want to see Bill Self, again, try to sledgehammer a square peg in a round hole.
This team is national championship-caliber. These kinds of teams don't come along every year at KU. That is why, I think, the fanbase as a whole is becoming very frustrated with seeing Self pucker up and go against our strengths. Our 2 worst games of this young season were largely influenced by decisions from Self. We couldn't score against MSU, yet Self stuck with a big in Lucas that has no offensive game because he's a good 3/4 sealer? Unreal. That made our offense basically play 4 on 5. We let instant offense sit on the bench in Greene, and didn't even try to utilize our strengths in playing fast and shooting the ball., Yet our best games of the season Self discounts and acts pouty because they are not the quintessential style he likes to play. I'm done with that. That stubborn mentality infuriates me. If it's not ok for a player, it's not ok from the coach.
@justanotherfan Yes. Great, great post.
@HighEliteMajor You said: "One other thing, Self said after the Chaminade game that he would have rather won 60-50, than to give up all those points. That analysis, though, completely ignores how well we did “per possession” – there were a lot of possessions, and we blew them out. Chaminade was at like .8 per possession. The number of points given up, really, is meaningless."
That is one of the most frustrating things about Bill Self forever discounting a good offensive performance. When we score as many points as we did against Chaminade, the opposing team's possessions would likely double or triple. As you say, their point total, then, becomes absolutely meaningless. Because if he were to look at it from the perspective of a freshman taking an elementary statistics course, with those ppp figures, they would score far less for any given range of possessions. So really, he likely discounted a sold defensive effort by looking at the point total, which is simply ignorant. Look, I know the guy is infallible in the eyes of so many KU fans, but overlooking that simple concept is laughably ignorant. We're not going to beat teams 120-40, that's just not going to happen. But smashing teams the way we did in Hawaii is something to be proud of, and it's something to embrace. What's even worse is how transparent Bill Self comes across in his postgame interviews. Those games in Hawaii, where he bemoaned our defensive effort by judging them in ways that my mom would are disconcerting to say the least. Yet, he's fine with the fact that we struggled mightily to knock off 2-5 Harvard? Because it was close? This team is a Ferrari. It should be driven like one.
RCJH. Goodbye, fart school.
@DoubleDD I watch every single game on first row sports through my playstation. It's a godsend. Works (almost) every time.
@HighEliteMajor Bravo, HEM. Bravo.
@Lulufulu I get what you're saying, but come on. You know John Wooden because of his national championships. Not the conference streak. Again, do you know how many conference championships Coach K has? I don't. No clue. But I know how many titles he has during his tenure. That's what I want for Self and KU too.
Ugh. I'll never understand this question. You'd take a FF with a shot at the national title with any team. It doesn't matter who it is. That's why we play! This is Kansas! We play to win it all. I'll never understand how this isn't a no-brainer.
Perhaps the better question is, would you trade the whole streak for, let's say, 2 more national titles? Sure there are some conference titles sprinkled in there, but certainly not 11 in a row. The answer should be unequivocally 'yes.' That makes KU a dynasty. that means 3 national titles in 10 years. THAT is success. THAT is so much more befitting our role in basketball history. Disenthrall yourself with the title streak. They're all well and good, but if you want to talk about Self's legacy, going 15-1 in-conference all so you can get run out of they gym by Northern Iowa as the number 1 overall seed is not flattering. Come on, guys.
@wrwlumpy Hey, since you do this for every game (and I love it for sure), I was wondering if you could put the time for the game up with all the other stuff too? I really appreciate what you do for each game.
@HighEliteMajor Oh, do you mean overvaluing the conference title every year the way Norm Stewart did and then flaming out in the first round of the NCAA? That IS a nightmare...
@dylans It's Korean, but ya. Annoying for sure.
@Kip_McSmithers 1) JT Barrett is not going early in the draft. 2) Basketball has almost four times as many games as football 3) Brady Morningstar was twice over the legal limit, tried to bribe the cop, and was not cooperative; are you kidding me with this? 4) I'm not downplaying drunk driving. I'm saying he passed the sobriety test and was hardly over the legal limit (the video of it is all over the internet. Go watch it.). So don't act like he was falling over. And I'm realistic enough to know that every single one of us (without exception) drank underage in college. So it seems beyond hypocritical to act like the kid deserves to be crucified for this.
@JRyman Ok, he passed the sobriety test, so let's not act like he was falling over. And like I already pointed out, Barrett received a proper punishment, in my opinion. As someone who's gone to summer school every year in college, getting the summer taken away from me would be devastating. It puts you behind on graduating by 9-12 credits. So again, in my opinion, the Barrett case is shut.
@JRyman Ok, but yet again, Elliott lobbying for more carries is not the same as Aaron Hernandez (a convicted murderer) getting caught with a gun... I mean, you have to know that, right?
Elliott has 2 mores games left at OSU. Brannen Greene got suspended because he's a repeat offender. Elliott has been a model player and said something in the heat of the moment (which he was right about). Brannen Green and Ezekiel Elliott are not quite the same, wouldn't you say? Urban Meyer has suspended every player for offenses that warranted a suspension. These offenses are not quite the same.
As a side not, I wonder if Self would've suspended Greene if KU were heading into the last/second to last game of the season.
@JRyman Ok, yet again, JT Barret blew a 0.09, was compliant with police, it's his first offense, it's a misdemeanor, etc. OSU was not required to suspend him due to university or NCAA policy yet they did anyways. On top of his suspension they took away the summer semester for him (i.e. doesn't receive his stipend and still can't work because of NCAA rules, nor can he take any classes, which puts him behind to graduate).
Stop acting like Barrett didn't receive any punishment, and stop acting like JT is the second coming of a guy that is in jail for murder because he did something that each and every one of us did in college.
LandEn Lucas. Wayne SeldEn. These are players who have been here for a while. Come on guys.
I'll never understand this idea that because things were bad forty years ago we should be ok with falling short of our present goal (a national championship) every year, or at best, failing to even make a respectable run in the tournament. I don't understand how winning three titles since the Great Depression should make us feel ok about seeing constant trends that lead to our team not living up to expectations. UConn's won, what, 4 national championships in 20 years? UNC three in 20 years? Duke 5? Kentucky 3?
Do you know how many conference titles Calipari has won at UK since he arrived off the top of your head? I don't. But I know how many Final Fours he's been to in that time...
@wissoxfan83 and I'm saying Barrett's punishment more than fit the crime seeing as how, by university and NCAA bylaws, OSU wasn't required to do anything yet they suspended him and negated the summer semester for him.
@wissoxfan83 First offense, compliant with police, blew a 0.09, not required any suspension, self-imposed, in addition to revocation of summer funding (i.e. can't go to school, doesn't receive stipend, and still can't work), etc. Not exactly a 1:1 comparison. Besides, Barrett didn't do anything that any of us didn't do in college. Completely overblown issue.
If Jesse Newell's speculation is true, this would be BG's fourth failed drug test. Not exactly the same thing, huh?
Was the detrimental conduct him being the best 3-point shooter on our team?
@DCHawker your post made me go back and watch the last two minutes of the Sweet 16 game against Michigan. I'm gonna go put my head in the oven now.
@BeddieKU23 It's not just the distribution of minutes, it's that he didn't coach when we needed him to. Driving at the basket in hopes of getting the other team in foul trouble is not coaching. That's a base strategy. But when you're on the ropes that can't be your only option. You have two of the best shooters in the country on this roster, you have to get them looks. I mean, my god, we weren't even going high-low in the second half. Sure, we threw it in to Lucas (???), but Ellis didn't even see much.
@RockkChalkk This is a theory I truly believe in. I honestly think that when Dooley and Manning left, the two most valuable pieces of our coaching staff left. Self has shown you to what level he is ignorantly stubborn. Go back and watch games from 2011 even 2012. Watch the defensive sets we run. Watch how developed players are. Watch us draw up well-executed, well-designed plays. The product we've had to endure since the 2014 season has been just painful to watch.
@BeddieKU23 said:
its a bad loss we all know that but hopefully the guys learn from it and more importantly Self learns from it. This team has to become a better shooting team or else we will continue to have these games, that's a fact.
All very true. All well said. The part in bold though--what indication do you have that makes you think this is possible? I have none. Self will not change. I'd bet you just about anything I have. And as long as we bash our heads against the wall with bad ball, I foresee a repeat of last season as a whole.
This is something that I'm sure will be beat in to the ground over the next few days, but... It's not that Traylor played bad. It's not that Lucas played bad per se. It's that what you see out of them tonight is their ceiling. Lucas is a ghost on both ends of the floor by and large, and Traylor has no offensive game and historically can't rebound. Yet, Mickelson shows you what he's capable of over the summer. He has a jump shot, he's a rim protector, he can rebound, has a good feel for the game and a good b-ball IQ. Basically, he brings everything Traylor and Lucas do and more. So why not play him? Why on god's green earth would you not play him? If you're rewarding Traylor and Lucas for their time in the program, I'd like to remind you that Hunter is also a senior and should be rewarded for his commitment and dedication to KU.
@Crimsonorblue22 You're blind and too far gone in the Bill Self fan club if you're not upset with him right now.
If I were a journalist in the presser after this game, I don't think I would be able to help myself from glaring at Self and saying "I hate you sometimes."
Where in the world is all of this negativity and skepticism coming from? 4-6 point win? Don’t get me wrong I’m not expecting a blowout, but I firmly expect KU to win this game. KU by no means dominated MSU last year, but we still handled them. And given KU’s ability to get to the line, KU’s depth, and MSU’s lack thereof, I’m expecting a good 10+ point win. The only reason we weren’t able to pull away from MSU last year was because we couldn’t throw it in the ocean. I expect a different outcome. And don’t think redemption after last year’s bloodbath in the CC isn’t going to provide some motivation…
This team is better than last year’s. I firmly believe KU can win it all this year. It’s been a while since I’ve felt this way. We got this!

@wrwlumpy Eeeek. Blackhawks. Clearly an old picture though ;)
I think to say he "played the race card," is missing the point of what he's trying to accomplish.
Does anybody recall the NCAA investigation at the University of Miami a few years back? Anybody remember the press that the NCAA got as a result? Turns out their investigation had to come under investigation because it was so incompetently managed and all it did was hurt Miami players who had absolutely nothing to do with the transgressions in question. The main criticism was that the length of the investigation was the real punishment. Schools were able to recruit players that would've otherwise gone to Miami because they could just say "Miami's gonna lose their program." The fact that the NCAA took so long to conduct their poorly managed investigation was the punishment and made the NCAA look incredibly mismanaged and incompetent.
To me, the whole point is to expose the NCAA as being incapable of serving their sole purpose. Is there a connection to racism? No, probably not. But the tweet, given this person's role in investigating student-athletes from Africa, was poorly timed and in bad taste. Therefore, anything this lawyer can do to humiliate the NCAA during this investigation and because of this investigation, go for it. What will bring this case to an end is when the NCAA will have no choice but to cut ties because the incompetence with which their investigation has been managed brings about questions of its integrity and ability to even fulfill its main function.
For what it's worth when I went to KU it was well known that Columbia, and the culture surrounding Mizzou, was pretty ugly and dangerous regarding racial issues. I heard several stories about stuff like has been reported happening at Mizzou quite frequently. I am of course biased, but my disdain for Mizzou goes beyond sports. I think that school and the culture surrounding that school is embarrassing. This is a fanbase that calls the Lawrence Massacre Mizzou's "greatest road win," essentially making light of the murder of 170 women and children. Go to a Chiefs or a Royals game wearing a KU shirt and see how you're treated. It's a small sample size of the mob and bigoted mentality pervasive throughout that fanbase.
This culture is not something unique just to sports. I've always wondered how Mizzou recruits black players with everything that fanbase and school stands for. Anybody ever googled the Antlers' notorious phone calls to KU players the night before games? Repeatedly calling our players the N word? The whole "No-Mom Tom" thing? Ya, that's representative of the trash culture surrounding that fan base and that school. Because that kind of behavior is encouraged and never corrected at Mizzou. I could never understand how Kim English could take so much pride in Mizzou fans when the black men on the KU squad were openly exposed to racial slurs from the Mizzou fanbase. It's pathetic, and even though it took a Mizery team over 100 years to finally do something and speak out, I'm glad they did.
And I'm sorry, but I think the argument that because these kids (black and white, FYI) listen to rap music that uses the word "nigga" somehow means they should be fine with the culture surrounding Mizzou is absolutely missing the point. Because this is something that's not too far from home. It was only a few years ago that we were dealing with this. Does everybody forget how ugly the culture surrounding that school really is? This is an ugly situation, and trying to reduce this issue to music is to miss the point entirely.
@HighEliteMajor Well, the reality is college, like anything in life, is as easy or difficult as you make it. This is kind of an aside from the central debate here, but I'm gonna refrain from that. With all the whining about how unfair and expensive college is, having been in it for far too long now, I've come to certain realizations...
College students typically complain about a bunch of problems that are so simply in their control. But how many of these problems are eliminated by simply getting a job? A lot of people work and go to school. It's not that hard. In my opinion it's irresponsible if you don't. I worked two jobs while in school taking about 15 hours a semester, pulled a 4.0 and didn't go into debt on my way. Parking problems? Ride the bus. Get a bike. These issues are not that hard. Dorms? Get a job, find an apartment. Transfer credit problems? Look at which credits transfer to your university before transferring. Lists are available, colleges and universities aren't going to hold your hand to help you find them. It's part of the "becoming an adult" process. No diverse groups on camps? All whites? I go to one of the largest schools in the world and almost 15% of our student body is Chinese. Having trouble getting into required classes? Plan ahead. Contact professors and departments to see which classes are going to be offered and when. Textbooks too expensive? Go on Amazon and buy them for a penny. Quite literally, a penny. And then sell them back on Amazon. There are so many mediums to do this stuff through. You can google "(textbook title) PDF" and find one. Seriously, just think. Copy of your transcripts...ya that one is lame. Scholarships are available. A lot of them. Schools aren't going to advertise this stuff to you. They're not going to turn down free money. It's incumbent on students to find them. If you're studying history with a 4.0, don't be surprised when the kid studying environmental engineering gets it instead of you. This is, again, part of the "growing up" process. This is why people advocate college. Because it's like anything in life, if you do it right, it's going to pay off tremendously in the end. Things like this just perpetuate laziness. Do your research before choosing an institution. Go to the one that is going to benefit you the most, and make the right decisions along the way. Then, if you still find yourself in this same situation, JUST DON'T GO.
@justanotherfan I think they're gonna be historically bad because they have nobody, absolutely no talent. I cede that Weber is a bad recruiter, but I DO think he is a good coach from a strategic point. And I can't emphasize this enough, I think Travis Ford is a god awful coach overall. Not just in one aspect.
@Texas-Hawk-10 I don't necessarily disagree, but if that's the case who's he behind? A guy who has coached 4 seasons? Nope. And is squandering talent worse than performing poorly without talent? They're not really different. So while yes, I would agree that recruiting is 50% of the job, an overemphasis gives you a flawed perspective. Because Weber has shown that he can coach, I think that goes without saying. What he hasn't shown is that he can recruit, and probably to an even greater extent that he can't put a decent coaching staff together. But again, I think it's obvious that the guy can coach the game. I mean, it's not like the 2013 KSU team was stacked by any means, and even more so in subsequent years. The teams that Ford had in 2013 and 2014 were stacked. They also went winless in the tournament. The Baylor teams from about 2010 to 2013? Those teams were pretty talented. The missed the tournament 2 out of 3 of those years.
So if all you're telling me is that these guys have achieved minimal success with extremely talented teams, all you're showing me is that they can recruit. I can show you that Weber can coach.
But overall I do agree on Weber, Weber is a cancer. His ability to run a program is questionable to say the least. I can't believe K-State gave him the contract they did. In all honesty it would've been something to see ISU get Weber for a year and then dump him. But again, the question is about coaching. The question I think everyone is answering is what are the best programs in the Big 12. Not coaches.
I'll never understand why KU fans incessantly do this. Shed your bias for a second. I know Bruce Weber is the butt of a lot of K-State jokes, and he's quite frankly an easy target, but if you really think he's the worst coach, overall, in the Big 12, you either don't watch Big 12 basketball or you don't understand basketball on a very deep level.
Let me ask, why is Tubby Smith ranked so high? Probably because he won a national championship. That's fair. He's been fairly consistent, but not a lot more so than Weber, and he's been doing it a lot longer than Weber. So that puts him in the top 5. I don't agree with that, but I can deal with that.
What I can't deal with is a guy who hasn't won a tournament game at OSU with an immense level of talent being ranked ahead of him. To me Travis Ford is easily the worst coach in the Big 12 by a large margin. This is a guy that's had some phenomenal players in that program and can't get out of the round of 64. I mean, wow. Ford is truly awful. I have no idea how he's still at OSU, I don't know why he hasn't been fired. He's an awful judge of character, manager of personalities, whatever you want to call it. I loathe Travis Ford.
Beyond that, I'll give Drew credit where it's due, but 2 Elite Eights does not equal a Final Four and a second place finish in the national championship. Look, all these guys do things well or successfully. That's why they're coaches in the Big 12. This certainly includes Drew. That being said, is there a coach in the league who has made more untimely decisions? Or decisions that you could point to and say, "we won in part because Drew stuck with/did X." He probably deserves the most credit for turning around a program that was in absolute disarray, but like Ford, he has absolutely flushed a ton of talent down the toilet. Again, a good recruiter does not equal a good coach.
Past those two clowns, you flat out can't tell me Steve Prohm is the seventh best coach in the league. For what? His round of 32 finish on a 31-2 season? I flat out don't care. At KU, we measure success in national championships and to a lesser extent Final Fours (that needs to be clear to everyone...) and a round of 32 finish means nothing. I understand that at Murray State that may mean something, but again, when you're ranking him above a guy that came very close to winning it all, I don't buy it.
The jury's still out in my opinion on Shaka Smart. Outside of his Final Four run ( :-( ), what has he done again? Never made it out of the first weekend? Ya, that's about right. So he's better than Weber because what? He had a good year? Meh. I don't know about that. What he does deserve credit for is winning with what he's had. We'll see what he can do at UT.
Personally, I think there is a rather large distinction between strategic coaching and recruiting. Case in point, Travis Ford. Absolutely terrible coach. Good recruiter. What's that spell out? Mediocre program.
To me, based on everything I see and have seen in the Big 12, here's how I'd rank 'em.
1) Coach Self
2) Lon Kruger
3) Huggy Bear
4) Smart - I begrudgingly put him here for no other reason than it gets kinda tough to really separate the turds from the stool after 4th.
5) Smith - Only reason I put him above Weber is because a NC > Runner up
6) Weber
7) Scott Drew - I don't necessarily buy that Drew is a better coach than Johnson, but the sample size is a lot larger, and the results are what they are.
8) Johnson
9) Prohm, based on lack of pretty much everything.
10) Travis Ford. No doubt about it. I don't even know how he has a job.
One final note, I think all the Big 12 writers you see projecting K-State to finish 8th are clueless. I think K-State could be historically bad this year. I'm talking Mizzery bad this year. Like less than 10 wins bad. And so help me god if one of those wins comes against us... As always, RCJH.
The funny thing is that Drake has become such a joke in regards to UK, and the fact that he has no credibility, this whole thing works against UK too.
@HighEliteMajor HEM, if you wrote a book on this subject, I'd buy it.
I thought they were very dumb after being excited about a coach whose best season was an 8-5 campaign at Buffalo. Although I honestly don't think many of them were genuinely excited after watching Mangino get canned.
Gill had lost the team. In large part because he made being a KU football player about as unappealing as he could. These are kids. They're in college. Cramming your religion down their throat and robbing them of the simple things that ALL college kids enjoy led to Gill losing that team.
For all of Weis's negative aspects there was clearly a change of pace from Gill. The most unfortunate thing about that 1-11 season under Weis was how many games KU should have won that year. Now, I've never been one to say "I called it," but it became clear after Weis realized that
the 2014 season wasn't going to be any different from those prior that he flat out gave up. After Cozart threw his 4th interception against Texas and Weis continued to trot him out there in the 4th quarter with the game still in reach, I said, "he'll get fired tomorrow."
To me, this season means very little. I want to see progress. It's all a wash. Beaty not winning a conference game means very little to me. It certainly would've been nice, but I'm not sweating it. If this happens again next year, we can revisit this topic.
As for KU basketball knowledge spilling over to football, quite frankly, I think you're giving KU fans in general a lot of credit. KU football fans are terrible, terrible fans. Not all of them, for sure. I watch every single minute of this travesty of a program, but I'm one of the few. KU fans were made fun of for leaving the Orange Bowl at halftime. That's KU football fans in a nutshell. KU basketball fans on the other hand are currently suffering from "conference-title-streak-itis," where the victim can't recognize simple inequalities such as 2 > 1, or national championships > Big 12 titles.
If he is KU football fans are dumber than I thought.
Uh, Montel Cozart isn't a Big 12 QB?? Cozart wouldn't have a snowball's chance in hell at starting for North Dakota State. I mean, that completely hypothetical situation is laughable it would be so unlikely. He's not a QB. Switch him to WR or HB and invest in somebody else, and start bringing along one of these young guys.
Every day that goes by without hearing anything makes me think that he's not playing this season.
