KU will be going up against Top 100 recruits in practice every day next season. Our scout team is better than most teams we play next year.

I think I added up the transfers and there was like 52 points per game averages on our guys that will be on our 2018-19 roster. That doesn't include any current players. That is a solid foundation to build on! Coach Self even said this years practice will be much better due to the talent level of our scouting team (transfers). Its going to be good

Charlie Moore would be a nice addition to KU basketball. Would give the 3 of them time to build chemistry. I think we are set for next year so getting these guys on board and playing together for a year is imo WAY better than anyone we could grab out of the 2018 recruiting class!

@Crimsonorblue22 me too! I just wish Coach Self would recruit differently so that I can sleep better at night lol.
@BShark Its not that the guys like Adams, Doyle, Vick, Mason, Devonte, Black, or any of the guys KU has signed weren't good or quality players but these guys were all recruited after KU missed on all of the 5 star talent. Coach Self leaves us in limbo for most of the recruiting cycle and misses on too many recruiting targets because his sales pitch needs adjusted.
@Eric-san yes, but if you look at KU's list of offers they are almost all 5 star guys. Then when we miss on the vast majority and fail to fill all of our scholarship's he scrambles and settles for scraps. Its worked out with Frank, Devonte, Vick, and the Lawsons but we have had too many walk on type of guys here lately IMO.

@jayballer54 We are all guilty of some trash talking other programs. I for one cant stand UK BUT I will say this. Landing top guys takes a good sales pitch. If you want a stable full of 5 star guys your sales pitch better be as if you are recruiting MJ, or LJ to play for you. You roll out the red carpet and tell them the sun shines out of their ass. Make them feel like the sky is the limit and feel like they are on their way to the NBA hall of fame. Coach Self from what I hear is more abrasive and tells most guys that starting positions are earned. Its all about the sales pitch and if Coach Self wants to land more 5 star talent he needs to change his sales pitch. Then there is the whole Nike shoe thing and a slew of other variables BUT I personally believe it has more to do with the sales pitch. What do you think LeBron James would say if Coach Self said to him starting positions were earned not a given vs Cal saying come to UK and Start, win a title, make UK history and leave here a star!

In fact I think Coach Self should be looking in the transfer market for a proven PG to add to that class. Doke, Lawson, Lawson, Garrett, Vick, Lightfoot, Cunliffe, and add in a solid PG transfer and another Big and we got ourselves a contender! Doke, Lawson, Lawson, Lightfoot, Cunliffe, and Vick will all have been playing D1 for at least 3 years.
To find another KU big that has averaged 20tps and 10reb you have to go all the way back to Wayne Simien 04-05. After sitting a year his brother should put up some stout numbers too. I would say they are KU's leading scorers and something to get excited about!
@elpoyo Yeah, I am bummed that we just landed a 20 and 10 PF and his Brother that would have outscored all but 3 of our starters! Sad day
WOW!!! They will be HUGE for KU after learning Coach Self's system and after Hudy gets them in the gym. Not to mention this will improve competition in the gym this summer. Only going to make our guys better if you ask me! We have a better start on next years recruiting than any other team in the country!
@drgnslayr If Graham, Bragg and Svi stay and Preston gets cleared we will have another TEAM that can go all the way. I cant imagine any coach outside of UK not starting Graham, Newman, Svi, Cunliffe, or Vick. Our Bigs could be really great next year too! Preston, Bragg, Coleby, Lightfoot and Doke! We have some more guys like Garrett that could surprise us as well. I like our guys and hope that they all stay!

How long has it been since we have had 4 McDonald's All-american's on one team? We could still get one more too if things work out with Trevon Duval or M.J. Walker?
I always wonder about the what if's? Milton Doyle had a great year this year scoring 15pts, 5reb, and 4.4ast. Andrew White 18.5pts, 4.6reb, and 1.1ast. Conner Frankamp 8.9pts, 2.7ast, and 1.6reb. Greene is a catch and shoot guy and not really a play maker and he was always a distraction. This team doesn't need any more bad publicity. That being said all of these guys are quality players that would have made this team DEEP! More than likely someone would have been unhappy and caused internal complications. I would rather have the short bench but it would be nice to have some cushion if we run into foul trouble.
The X-factor here is the "home court advantage". Does anyone know if the refs are local? Just curious?

I am not worried about this game. I am more concerned about the OKST game. KU has lost the last 3 at OKST and we are playing them on their senior night.

I hope he can find another couple of under recruited guards that no one is talking about this year! Maybe Coach Self can start looking around Towson or Appalachian State's campus?
I remember when we recruited Mason, Wiggins, Jojo, Selden, and Frankamp. I recall Coach Self saying that Wiggins, Selden, and Frankamp were all highly regarded coming out of high school but that he was "really excited" about the 2 players no one was talking about. It was before Embiid jumped up on the college hoops radar.

I just noticed that there are only 8 guys left on ESPN's top 100 board. That doesn't look good for Bill Self at all! If I had to guess KU will be playing the transfer game this summer more so than any year I can remember.
Mason, Svi, Jackson, Lucas, Graham, and possibly Bragg gone next year? Who knows if Preston will ever suit up in 2017-2018? That leaves Coach Self with Newman, Vick, Garrett, Lightfoot, and Dok as the only quality players on the roster (according to recruiting outlets). Very inexperienced and virtually no depth! Next year could really be a down year if Coach Self doesn't pull several rabbits out of his Toupee!
