Sort of. Each bowl with a Big 12 affiliation gets to pick who they want in that order. If the B12 champ is not in the CFP, then that team goes to either the Cotton, Fiesta, or Peach Bowls depending on which bowls are hosting CFP games and if there's another B12 team that qualifies for a NY6.

The Alamo Bowl has 1st choice among the remaining B12 teams not invited to the CFP and NY6 Bowls.

The Pop-Tarts Bowl has 2nd choice, then the Texas Bowl, then the Liberty Bowl, Guaranteed Rate Bowl, then either the First Responders or Military Bowl, and then Independence Bowl gets whoever is left.

ISU ran 35 plays, KSU ran 102 plays and ToP was 18 minutes for ISU and 42 minutes for KSU.

I drove through the beginning of that blizzard in Wichita this morning around 10am. It was near white out then and apparently just got worse as the day went on.

With FAU's loss, it's very likely Gonzaga moves into the top 10 this week making it 5 top 10 teams.

For KU to win, it's very likely they'll have to be a pair of top 5 teams to do so.

Guaranteed Rate Bowl is in Phoenix at Chase Field. It's the same bowl game we played against Minnesota in 2008 when it was the Insight Bowl then.

Prince doesn't fit the profile of an A&M coach. He was never successful anywhere else to get an overpriced contract.

For KSU to make the Big 12 title game, they need to win at ISU and need both OSU to lose at home to BYU and they also need OU to lose at home to TCU. I wouldn't bet money on all 3 things happening.

Damn special teams has basically cost KU the OSU game, the ISU game, and tonight amd not just the FG unit although they get the biggest share of blame/grief. Also, Trevor Fucking Wilson with at least his third punt that he's muffed and given away. KSU's go ahead score came on the possession Wilson fucked up again on a punt. He should not be allowed to return a punt ever again in a KU uniform. Keep Grimm back there like they've done every other time Wilson coughs one up.

KU is close, but they have to clean up special teams to take the next step to be challengers in the Big 12, which they could easily do next year with a reliable kicking game and a returning who doesn't fumble punts with regularity.

KU's special teams unit is the reason why KU is currently 7-4 instead of 10-1 right now so that's got to be at the top of the priority list of things for Leipold to focus on this spring.

At the end of the day, KU beat themselves 3 times this season.

The play call on that 4th down was fine. Skinner got open in the corner of the emdzone. Ballard under threw the pass.

Grimes would be up there. Although not recent, I'd throw David Padgett into that conversation considering the success he had at Louisville during a time when Louisville was pretty good. Although he transferred for non-personla reasons, JR Giddens had a pretty good college career at New Mexico and spent a bit of time in the NBA.

@jayballer67 I don't expect 40-0 every season, but 1 NCAA Tournament in 8 seasons should not acceptable either for a P5 college basketball program. Losing to inferior teams on the road is far too common under Schneider and he's had more than enough time to build this program into one that makes the NCAA Tournament more than not and 12.5% isn't acceptable to me.

3 NCAA Tournament appearances in 20 years is not acceptable. If that's your standard of success, then raise your standards and stop making excuses for underachieving. KU should've won last night against an inferior team and they didn't.

I'm not apologizing for having higher expectations than making the tournament 3 times in 20 years and it does puss me off when people make excuses/justify the failures of the women's basketball program. It's the same argument I made about Ritch Price and baseball for years about his mediocrity as well.

That was a bad loss for KU. Penn St. isn't a good team and this was a game KU should've won. KU was picked 3rd in the B12 and PSU was picked near the bottom of the B10 this year. PSU was 14-17 last season. KU has to won these types of games to make the NCAA Tournament.

Sorry I disagree that was a very good team. they have improved every year under this Coach and they have a player that could play Big 12 basketball and do very very well.. - 1st game on the road for the Ladies and played very well, very fast paced. There are a lot of teams Penn State would have beat in the Big 12, not sure what game you was watching. but totally disagree I don't think it is a bad loss at all

At what point do we stop making excuses for Schneider? He's made one NCAA Tournament in 8 years and had multiple teams that should've made the tournament and didn't like last season. Are you really going to claim that KU, who was picked 3rd in the B12, losing to the team picked 12th/13th out 14 teams in the B10 isn't a bad loss?

This would be like if the men's team goes out loses to UCF in Orlando later this year.

Since RB has been so devalued in recent years, not as highly as he would've been 15 years ago. He's still projected as a 3rd day pick in the 2024 draft.

Yes, it will impact seeding in that this will be a quad 1 win for whoever wins which always helps the resume. Beyond that, if KU and Kentucky were in consideration for the same seed such as a 1 seed or the last 4 seed, then it might matter with the head to head win. The bigger importance from a tournament resume standpoint will be picking up a quad 1 win.

Cole Ballard wasn't why KU lost yesterday. We had 3 redzone trips and only scored 6 points because we don't run anything under center in short yardage situations. Our DC for whatever reason decided to play prevent defense when Tech only needed FG to win and has a kicker with a huge leg.

Was Ballard great yesterday? No, but he made some plays and moved the offense when Bean couldn't do it even before his injury. The loss yesterday was on the coaches making questionable play calls in key situations.

KU went from 3rd place to 8th place in the B12 standings today.

For sure, there is a reason Elmarko is starting. Glad he showed out a bit I think he can be special.

Dickinson is KU's best player right now. Elmarko Jackson has the highest ceiling of anybody on KU. There's a reason why many 2024 mock drafts have him as a potential lottery pick.

This loss is even bigger now with OSU getting absolutely demolished in Orlando today.

Also hate that Missouri is wrecking Tennessee today as well.

I don't like prevent defense when a FG ties games. A prevent is meant to stop touchdowns, not keep teams out of FG range.
