I'm in agreement w much of above. I know hcbs knows what he's doing but he seems REALLY set in his ways. Before Kent State we had a great thread about how Alexander needed to play a minimum of 30 min. It made/makes complete sense to me. However, JamTray starts and gets a ton of unjustified minutes.
I'd start Cliff and Perry and sub Mickelson, Lukas and JamTray in that order.
I'd also start Svi over Selden.
Don't know what to do w Greene.
We need to play outside in.
Shoot at LEAST 20 threes/game.

7 re playing time...this is the point I'm trying to articulate. I think there's a balance here. You don't want too little playing time like Josh Selby (injuries) or too much like Wayne Selden and expose you may not be OAD material.
I'm not advocating this at KU!
I just think UK has stumbled upon something that works for them...get a bunch of OAD's at every position and even if you only average 5-10 pts per game you'll still be viewed as a great potential talent that will blossom once you're in the league playing w lesser talent!
Here's a thought related to UK's current strategery. It came to me while driving through heavy snow on I-70 about 700 miles west of Lawrence.
The NBA drafts on potential, right? UK/Squid/ShoeCO may have stumbled upon (this seems better than giving them actual credit) how to get multiple OAD's at every position.
Come to UK:
1. Play no more than 15-20 min a game.
2. Your legs will be fresh.
3. You'll retain all of your "potential" and "high ceiling" mystery the league loves to draft

That's what they want you to think! The more logical explanation is the NSA is running the GU website and was keeping certain stats hidden until you hit the required number of attempts to widen the screen and unlock the keys to beating the Hoyas!

You just helped me understand what I thought I saw the last two games, the makings of a TEAM! The three outside guys today whipped the ball around quickly and decisively w/out the ball sticking. They hit the high post nicely (although not as much as hcbs wanted.) and reversed the court 2-4 times till they found an open shot.
I think these boys are getting coached up and listening...well most of them! I think Svi understands the offense already just needs to hit some shots. I loved his pump fake and drive/finish at start of 2nd half.
Someone mentioned it on Jesse's in game blog that our zone offense looked better today than at ANY point last year.

I was unavoidably detained (Bill Murray Caddyshack voice) during the game last nite but watched replay on the WatchESPN app later.
I ALWAYS love the Jayhawks but this team has some questions. I thought last nites game showed some good signs of experience (couple lobs) but i keep worrying we're just so short inside. How can we defend against UK?
We are gonna need to play with more intensity than our opponents and not turn the ball over. Hitting 5-10 threes per game would also help.
