Embiid reminds me of Shaq. A freakishly large man who is decent at basketball but not fast enough or agile enough to do much that is enjoyable at this stage. His footwork is good. His basketball IQ is high. His midrange is nice. But he travels, begs for and gets calls, and is a threat to injure someone on any given night.

I think we should always aim to win the B12. I like the idea of extremely long leashes for new guys in non con. If your name is KU and you finish the season red hot you get a high seed anyway.
A culture of winning tough conference games and having the rotation set by tourney time are important things. I think the volatility of the rotation into conference play should sound alarms that more experimentation might need to happen sooner?
I’m a guy that sees the conference tourney as a nice to have but also a bell weather as to whether the team is peaking at the right time.

Do you ever wonder if guys like Self would have won more titles staying at a program like Illinois where he wasnt expected to land top 50 guys? Where he might have same level talent for a year sometimes 2 longer?
Do you think he wins a title earlier with Luther Head, Deron Williams and Dee Brown? Does he have less of a challenge recruiting undervalued talent to the Big 10?
