I could not watch the game closely enough to tell if Huggins adjusted to shut down Dotson at the half. Anyone have an idea about that?

@dylans Devon is good. Great even, at times (Dayton), when his skillset is the answer to the game at hand (10 made shots inside the arc, 8-10 FT, 5 steals). But he isn't consistently great (Frank POY year, Devonte runner up POY year), and he needs to be a better facilitator in games where we need him to pass.
Frank shot 47% from 3 his senior year, 5.2 to 2.4 TO ratio, Devon is shooting 30% from 3 this year, 4.4 to 2.6 assist to TO ratio. Devonte on the other hand had a 7.2 to 2.8 assist to TO ratio his senior year and shot 40% from 3, shooting 2 more on average than Frank, and we went to the FF. Marcus Garrett, by comparison, has a 4.3 to 1.5 assist to TO ratio, but also is a 30.4% 3pt shooter.
As it stands, I'd rather have the ball in Marcus' hands, unless Devon becomes a better passer or 3pt shooter.

I loved the play where Braun got the ball at the top right of the key, looked downhill, nothing there, dribbled to left side scanning, nothing available. Dribbled to baseline, defense didnt challenge him on baseline where he was slightly behind the backboard, so he collected himself, and calmly potted a jumper from about 6 feet out.
The kid is woke.
He needs to do it now. Dave will have his chance to be the man next year. Give up on the 2 big offense except for spot minutes.

Doke, Tristan and Ochai should all have games where they make big plays on both ends. I think those three plus Braun and Marcus should start. We need a 4-1 and so Tristan is the guy by default, because Dave isn't a 4 ever, and Silvio is awful atm. I'd play those 5 and let Marcus be primary handler until Dotson demonstrates that he can be more than a scorer.

If Dotson can't shoot 3s or pass well, he's not as good as Marcus.

They can't have their cake and eat it too. If they want to let us have completely a la cart programming where we can get internet for $40/mo and pay for only ESPN+ ($5/mo for only bball season) and in my case MASN ($10/mo for baseball season?) then I'd be totally down. But they won't let us have ESPN+ without having a cable package with FIOS? They can F right off.

@dylans Kansas does not pop up during Duke games. I watched a lot. @nuleafjhawk I've watched too many KU games where Vitale has ignored the game for long stretches, going on and on about Duke. That being said he may be getting a little better about it. Also, ESPN may have been encouraging his super-amped schtick. I think I read somewhere where they've encouraged it.
I do think Vitale's energy and passion is good for the game, even if it is [imo] biased. And I think he's a decent human being. I'd be happy to have him as a neighbor and shoot the breeze with him. Thank you for reminding me to value the positives.

@Texas-Hawk-10 some day Braun will play in an E-8 game and not go 0-10 or 1-11 or whatever the absurdly bad lines for Tyrel and Brady were in that VCU loss and we will remember him as a great shooter ;)
