@BeddieKU23 We don't lose often, but often when we do, its a physical game where the refs swallow whistles down the stretch. UCLA, VCU, Michigan tourney losses come to mind.
When the game is close, refs are more likely to swallow their whistles, imo, because they don't want to change the outcome of the game. If we were up by the 8 or so points that we should have been up by on play alone [by limiting turnovers and converting easy buckets], we would have gotten fair whistles and the game would have been a 20 point victory.
Oh well. I just wish it wasn't Bobby Hurley. Cuz F Duke.

Down the stretch Tech couldnt come close to finding a basket. That was unfortunate. I thought they had Duke on the ropes when they broke it open start of second half. Zion Williamson reminds me of a cross between Wiggins and Doke. He has Wiggins' completely useless whirling dirvish spin move with Doke's body.
Watching DeAaron Fox go toe to toe with Westbrook atm. Speed on speed! Exciting stuff.
The game really slowed down for Dave during that run. When he jab-stepped and drilled a little j there on a run out you could see he was thinking 2 moves ahead. He has the mindset to be great!
South Dakota lost to Duke 96-80 last year and even outscored Duke 50-40 in second half. Their players in post game mentioned that they didn't compete against Kansas like they did against Duke last year.

If you know that you're the master of winning games where no team leads by more than 3 possessions, and that you also have a hard time keeping the players focused with a big lead, or dealing with large momentum swings, could you see keeping the score knotted for as long as possible as being your best chance of winning? Also, maybe Self believes that by keeping the score close the opposing coach is much less likely to adjust at halftime?
@JayHawkFanToo I really liked Self's halftime talk about the initial half-court defense being really good, and that Nova only really hit their threes off of rebounds and kickouts. It's very exciting to see us defend the 3 well. We do seem to be rotating a lot better.
