Now he needs to be mad at Doncic. Watch out for mama Carter, Luka!
@justanotherfan so your saying he got shown up by superior talent and threw a fit. Sounds like a guy I want on my NBA roster. đ I hadnât heard of him, but those other three you mentioned I had. FWIW a top 10 pick out of the 4th best big on the freshman class is pretty alright. I donât follow non KU recruits very closely though, maybe he shouldâve went higher, but he displayed no outside game the little bit I saw of him.
I wonder if Dok wouldâve been first round material if he played alongside Bagley.
I came to watch Bagley and noticed Carter. Maybe Bagley improved Carters draft stock.
The mom of the daughter doesnât want Luke to even be allowed to pitch at the college level. She seems pretty sure he did it.
Assuming he has the same roster, similar results to what heâs had at KU. If anything theyâd be more rested most years as the SEC sucks in general.
@BShark GM Dayton Moore is seriously looking into Luke. Ugg. Most GMs think he isnât a top of the rotation starter and thus not worth the pr ding. Weâll see what the hapless royals do. đ¤
@Kcmatt7 One small issue, some of those players (Hos included) donât want to be in KC.
Iâd add to your post to by saying the Royals messed up by giving an injured Gordon a huge contract while letting others get away. Alex isnât very good anymore, but heâs got a big check coming. The rest of the rapid decline was due to the inability to recognize the true strength of the team was the bullpen. DM trades them off piece by piece and the team got worse with each reliever traded. To top it all off Ace got killed and he was the heart of the rotation. His absence has destroyed the fire I used to see in the team. Sad really.

Big omission not having Tyler Self on the list. We won nearly every time that kid was on the floor at the end of the game.

The long term 4 year impact players as I see it:
Sherron. No Sherron no championship in â08. Formed a formidable 2 man team with Aldrich. Couldâve been national player of the year his Senior campaign as he carried the Jayhawks to many a victory.
Mason. Starter for parts of all four years. Made an immediate impact helping to beat Duke his freshman year (only 3 starts) Left as national player of the year his senior year.
Ellis. After a disappointing freshman season he really came on during the Big12 tournament foreshadowing what was to come. A consistent force in the face up game, Perry would often times blow by his defender on his way to the hoop. Never really able to score over length he became a deadly three point threat late in his career, though he was reluctant to shoot too many trifectas. Carried KU with his silent leadership qualities his jr and sr years. Iâd love to have him for another 10 years.
Graham. Most loved leader in recent memory. Made his teammates better from day one. Lead the Jayhawks to a final four berth his senior year inspite of a dearth of super athletic teammates. Consumate teammate he was quick to dish an assist or lend a hand on defense.
@Kcmatt7 I doubt he has a career yet, heâs still in college getting a free education. I never said he shouldnât be allowed to work. I just believe his past actions are coming to haunt him. Just the same as a person with high character will get more opportunities, he is being denied for obvious personality flaws. If Colin Kaepernick has a negative impact on revenue what would a known child molester do for you?
If his past actions donât have any lasting consequences (like they did with for the girl) whatâs the point in having morals or laws?
9 out of 10 participants enjoying gang rape, but that doesnât make it right.
@Kcmatt7 Why? Being a pro athlete isnât a right itâs a privilege. How is getting an free education and an accounting job worse than death?
1800+ players drafted this year and the child molester wasnât one of them is a great sign the apocalypse may be further away than many think.
@KCmatt7 McDonalds is hiring. Somethings you canât come back from.

@dylans Not sure why you say Milwaukee sucks. They've had a decent run the last few years and draw pretty well.
Perennial cellar dweller. Only 2 division titles and only one World Series appearance. I thought they had a better past than that. The Robin Yount years werenât as productive as I thought.
Mightâve been a step too far down actually.
Iâve been to both parks. I love the Royals, but the Cards have a much better organization. The stadium is nicer. The owners are more savvy. The GM makes smarter moves. The payroll is larger. The crowd is better and I love a packed Kauffman. The Cards have the second most ws titles also, so thatâs a rough comp.
Milwaukee would be a better comp. They suck too.
Bilas says he isnât very athletic, but he is very skilled. He became the youngest euroleague MVP at 19; started playing pro ball at 13 years old. Doncic is supposed to have great court vision as well. Iâm not sure of the intangibles, Iâve never seen him play or even watched highlights. Just regurgitating whatâs been recently reported about him. I have no opinion.
@SkinnyKansasDude Hurts player development. These new guys need game minutes.
Silvio really came on towards the end of last season. I really look forward to seeing him after a summer with the team. Hope the eligibility issues are all cleared up (yea right) before the season begins so a cloud isnât hanging over us.
@Crimsonorblue22 They are delicious. I get wow butter and jelly. Itâs decent. Sunflower butter is horrid. Cashew butter is ok, but a little bland and expensive.
@justanotherfan Thanks! They didnât just shoot threes! They are actually good at something else which is one of my points. The other being Nova was beatable, but they got lucky that Tech sucked that game. (I watched they missed a ton of wide open shots).
@justanotherfan @drgnslyr @approx @crimson @mayjay thank you. Iâm just trying to get through this without any prison time! They will hang themselves if I give them enough rope.
đ¤Śââď¸Ok let me chose a different wording. it seems as though your position is Nova is unbeatable. I pointed out a game they shouldâve lost. It seems as though you are saying shoot more threes and you automatically win. Iâm saying that isnât always he case. Like in 08 for KU Nova got lucky and won on a bad shooing night otherwise we are talking up how wonderful Bill Self is and how lucky Nova got to beat KU 2 years prior. (I believe that qualifies as a narrative shift; from Jay is the best to Bill is the best)
Maybe you said that but I canât possibly read all you posted too busy at work. Cliff notes please.
@jaybate-1.0 Nova shot horriblily against TexasTech, 33% from the field and won. They got lucky that Tech wasnât ready for the big stage. Otherwise the whole narrative changes.
The distraction of another awesome basketball season canât get here soon enough!
@Crimsonorblue22 I was back at your hometown last weekend. The pasture ~~strikethrough text~~grass looks fantastic following the rains over there. !0_1529462445389_AB6E3E84-B67E-489B-B5FF-18F5FEF1B2BC.jpeg â
Haskell County gap in effect.
Crazy drought continues. We currently sit at 3.50â of rain since the end of last September. Here come our big soaker...until it splits and goes around us.
Itâs becoming comical at this point. 2 weeks ago a wall of thunderstorms from Texas to Nebraska was moving east straight at us...until it disapated at the county line.
If the NCAA was a best of series instead of sudden death Bill would be ridiculous to not trot out 4-5 theee point shooters. Since one bad showing can end your season the offense must be more diverse and the defense must be fierce.
Last year KU had a horrible defensive team (for a final four team) especially outside. Hopefully the more athletic longer guards coming in next season will be better defenders.
A hot tre balling team can knock anyone from the tournament. The trick is winning when you are cold.
You donât have to look that far. Iâm dealing with a school superintendent and his wife the school counselor who are making threats on my 8 year old boys life. Not just in print, but actually throwing what amounts to poison in my backyard.
I will win the battle, but it will be hard fought. They will go down in flames or I will die trying. Donât mess with my family!

As a Nats fan, I like this deal. None of these guys are on my radar; our farm system has been depleted and these guys were still the 10th and 11th best guys. Hopefully the Royals have assessed them well and they help.
The Royals got fleeced at their own request. Full on youth movement is great, but get good value for your guys. Sheesh

Herrera was gone at the end of the season either way. Would have liked to see them get a better return for him, though.
Exactly my complaint. The Royals have no clue.
@Crimsonorblue22 Full on tear down and rebuild mode now. Watch the Royals become a AAAA farm team.
Good news aprox, your bullpen just got stronger!
Weak trade on the Royals end. Top end reliever for the 10th ranked prospect in their system. Sad.
@approxinfinity My 5 year old nephew just got back from a couple year stint in Germany. Little guy can dribble the ball â˝ď¸ quite well now. Itâs impressive what he picked up on recess while over seas.
I figured it was because so many players got injured last year there were multiple âstartersâ at each position. Since they had the offseason to heal up theyâre back. Returning 19 of 22 legit starters should give everyone a real good idea what Beatyâs coaching is actually doing.
@approxinfinity A concerned KU fan no doubt! Freaked out about the inside info leaking. đ
The refs would likely get sick if it and warn the other team before calling intentional fouls. But there is no guarantee.

But in all fairness I could fill all 23 slots with KU basketball related stuff.
Yay!
@jaybate-1.0 They were red hot to start. That game was over in minutes and an aberration similar to what KU did to Syracuse.
Point plaken: You canât have that aberration without shooting the threes to begin with.
@drgnslayr 40% from three you can overcome with muscle ball. 50%+ with volume and you have to play perfectly to just stay in the game.
Three years ago my wife, 5 year old boy and myself were swimming in a friends pool when a snake decided to join us. Youâve never seen a pool clear out so fast! It was on the edge so I splashed it with water and it charged me! They can swim very fast and while I was treading water itâs at eye level. Not cool at all! Luckily it was just a 3ft bull snake. I relocated it (alive) to a better place.
@Crimsonorblue22 Late last fall. I havenât seen a single rattle snake this year. Unfortunately that will change. My boy likes the rattles, so I give most of them to him.
You can attach a rattle to the end of a thin piece of flat metal, pull it back like a door stopper, and let it very realistically simulate a rattle snake rattle.
@wissox His scouting report said unlimited range. Had me pretty excited.
Xavier Henry would have been a more hyped (top 5) guy though.

Cubby hole in my work truck...needs a bath.
And if we lived in Australia weâd have to watch for spiders over a foot wide that like to hide under your window visor. They also like to hop out into your lap while driving. They kill people by causing wrecks. Not at all poisonous.
Iâd still take him.

@JayHawkFanToo But how do you think he would get along with the dysfunctional Balls? Edit: which is all of them.....
Man hater? đ
@Crimsonorblue22 Mostly prairie rattlers, some diamondbacks in the extreme se part of the area I check.
I leave the other snakes alone. If you have bull snakes you donât have rattle snakes.
@Crimsonorblue22 That happens more than you might imagine. I smash and/or bury the heads.
@justanotherfan I seriously doubt Mith ever becomes the lead dog, but he will absolutely be a leader on the team.
Remember Mitch showed the stacheâ the door just by demonstrating the effort it takes to be a winner. Thatâs the kind of leadership I look for in him. Someone to keep the guys honest in practice.
@justanotherfan I think you and I have very different definitions of leader. Mitch was a leader last season as a sophomore why wouldnât he be a leader as a senior?
