@Kcmatt7 All our posts have a ton to learn about positioning. It’s the one thing Lando had going for him.
Dok is too reserved going for rebounds and blocks some so maybe that’s where the improvement could lie.
@kcmatt7 Mitch is pretty aggressive as is - he tries to swat every shot.
Silvio is pretty aggressive as is too - he puts his butt on someone every shot and boxes out to the stands. I love this quality and he and Garrett are the only ones with it.
I’m glad for the experience. I’m triply glad we beat them at every opportunity. I’ve re-watched all three wvu-ku games, but only one or two other games all season. Highly entertaining games, good for our guys to get through it for the inbounds pressure practice.
Does anyone know what time the actual bracket come out today?
Now the dilemma - how do we go back to not rebounding with DeSousa on the bench? Will Dok and Silvio play together??? Will Silvio cut into Dok’s minutes, Mitch’s, or a guard (Vick/Garret)? Ahhh new variables for the Dance. Let the fun begin!
Psychological edge is huge about now.
It’s a good thing WVU has a yellow streak down the leg of their shorts...
Newman, Newman, Newman... where are you MOP Newman?
Thank goodness we have Mitch, but DeSousa wow!!!

I doubt KU is in the decommit game this year but they have some nice players signed. Kisunas is better than his ranking.
Kiss un ass?
Rupp played at KU (won 2 helms championships while there) and some little school to the east named their floor after him. Cal was an assistant coach at KU. Dean Smith played at KU and coached UNC before stealing Roy away (freakin traitor) . But Roy and Larry Brown are the only two that come to mind as having head coached at two blue bloods.
Latin should shoot more. Let me re-phase that. Latin should be allowed to shoot more by his teammate.
Newman’s working on making the all tourney team.
Like all but Tech and KU from the Big12. Virginia, Duke, and North Carolina ACC etc.
Yes the other teams are nice, but they have no realistic chance to win it all.
@mayjay Take the best 32 teams. If that's too hard make it 16. There are not 68 teams able to win the tournament as is. Get rid of the ones who have no shot.

True, but if you couldn't win half your conference games, you don't have much of an argument that you are one of the best teams in the country.
...And why I think the NCAA tournament should be cut down to 32 teams and made double elimination.
Mis remembered. The proposed plan (by the Star) was to sit until June.
@JayHawkFanToo Not my idea. Here’s a link to an article siting past examples of Boras doing something similar. KCDeathStar article ↗
Boras has done this dance before. Four years ago, Kendrys Morales and Stephen Drew both remained unsigned into June. Kyle Lohse wanted until late March in 2013 to sign. Morales and Lohse ended up making as much or more than most expected. Drew, who was 31 when he went unsigned, made less.
So, Boras knows this route. He designed the playbook, and volunteered an alternative outcome. If the offers don't come, Moustakas could wait until the draft pick compensation drops after the June draft, perhaps sign a deal for the rest of the 2018 season, and then take another spin with free agency.
Manny Machado — who is moving from third to shortstop this year — and Josh Donaldson will be free agents, so Moustakas would at best be the No. 2 third baseman on the market.
Now Talib is joining Peters in LA. LA only had to give up a 5th round pick for Talib. So LA picked up two former All Pro CBs for a 4th and 5th pick in this years draft (a 2nd rounder next year for Peters too). They will generate a ton of picks and likely give up a ton of big plays as both like to gamble.
Boras must’ve caved. He was talking about holdin Moose out the entire year, if need be, to get a big contract.
Got lucky that Robinson couldn't hit his free throws. Forgot to pull a fouled out player so tcu got an extra free throw with one second too. Which is insane. I kinda thought that should've been on the refs.

@BShark I think Bruce does a decent job coaching them up, but his end of game coaching is laughable.
The main difference between a 1 and 2 seed is 2 seeds occasionally lose the first game. Being a 2 seeds turns it into a 6 game tournament instead of a 5 gamer for a 1 seed. After the first round matchups become much more important.
(Play in games are not the first round!)
@Texas-Hawk-10 I meant Trae Young had a ticker about his wonderful self on ESPN for awhile. Trae Young has his stats pop live during games he isn’t in. ESPN’s halftime shows would highlight Trae Young in games he wasn’t playing in. Trae Young has a college team in Norman that he runs according to ESPN, I forget what they’re called.
Not that ESPN will demand that the great Trae Young play in the NCAA tournament directly.
👊👊👊
who’s there?
Daisy :sunflower:
Daisy who?
Daisy me rollin, they hatin’
@kjayhawks Oh hell no OU doesn’t belong in the tournament.
@Crimsonorblue22 I’ve been told it’s because OU has 6 quality wins, but it’s Trae and the ESPN effect.

A mild grade one MCL sprain usually takes 2-6 weeks to heal.
@justanotherfan But that may help KU in the long run. Too many games in the comfy confines of Allen Fieldhouse may be a bad thing for an experienced roster that needs challenged...or a good thing for a roster that needs confidence. or a good thing due to a bloated record inflating our seed. Or a good thing because it generates a boatload of money. Or a good thing because @crimsonorblue22 and I can go see KU play in Allen Fieldhouse, the only place one should watch our beloved Jayhawks in person? Hell we should play all 40 games in Allen Fieldhouse. The other teams would surely appreciate the historical nature of the venue.
@wissox I’m afraid for KU the most important game of the year was against a hobbled Evans clinching #14, not a game they won’t be playing in.
KU fanboy me wants to punch realistic me in the face right now.
ISU, KSU, and KU fans all show up in droves. There is a small group of Texas fans than all wear matching sweaters that come each year. The rest of the fan bases were more sporadic, there were even some pissed MU fans lurking about...
I imagine Texas or Oklahoma teams are expected to win more will travel. Anyone go when Hield was there? How was the OU crowd then (at a non-KU game), because it was unimpressive when I went - 1/2 full, quiet during the afternoon session. You could hear more ISU fans bitching about KU getting calls (KU wasn’t playing) than OU fans cheering.

@dylans Oh, crap.
Now I’ll take you out of context. Lol
That’s exactly what I thought when I heard Dok was injured...at least the edited version.
@mayjay funny. He did expound upon it saying they needed to be on the floor for KU to win.
While I was reading this our good buddy Seth Greensberg said KU can win it all, but only if Dok and Devonte' stay out of foul trouble. I hope Dok can play enough to get into foul trouble.
@nuleafjhawk Not a cheater, just doesn't care about the rules. 😜
Larry Brown is one of the great basketball minds, but he is diiirty. Glad he moved on when he did so we can still enjoy him.
@wissox It's not like anyone bought him a car...
Good thing there are child labor laws in the US. Otherwise it sounds like we will have to pay to watch our kids play biddy ball soon. Nba prep league and all...😜
@wissox Are there more than 8 women’s hockey teams?
@Crimsonorblue22 And they can use it to enrich the rest of their entire life.
The biggest problem with the academies (other than it messes with MY college basketball!!!) is the kids that washout have nowhere to go. No degree. No work contacts. Just basketball.
I thought trade school was to prepare you for work; College is supposed to create well rounded individuals who are work ready. Thus the English class requirements for Engineers.
Unfortunatly many major student athletes are allowed to skimp on the academics; something that they can use beyond age 30.
I agree with @kcmatt7 there needs to be a UNC like courses for athletes that don’t care about their future outside of sports. Freshman level only. Maybe a class in money management (and how to pick your friends) so society isn’t paying for these guys later.
@wrwlumpy I’ve only been to the Big12 tournament once; my wife and I attended all the games. It was interesting to watch the crowd as much as the games when KU wasn’t playing. Luckily that year it played out perfect as KU got to whoop up on Hoiberg’s boys and then complete the three game sweep of KSU in the championship game.
Lots of fun, enjoy your game(s)!
Silver does say the NBA has no plans for an academy in the US. Mexico City will be the closest one.
@Kcmatt7 I was just preparing my we got screwed in the bracket speech. 😜 Match-ups matter more to this team than the last two years. If their guards can pressure our guards 10ft beyond the 3pt line we're screwed.
@KUSTEVE Jacque was my fav. Unfortunately I arrived on campus in the fall of ‘97.
9 top 100 guys to the Big 12; 5 to the field, 4 to Kansas. I’m definitely picking Kansas for #15.
