@Gorilla72 6.5points per game on 42% shooting, for a big that’s rough.

Udeh’s 10 points (64%) 9 rebound average is solid. Looks like he’s turning into a contributor.

I was disappointed when they left. I wonder how one or both would’ve developed at KU, but Hunt and Flory are much more talented/better.

@NormRoberts Rebounding is mostly effort - if KJ doesn’t prioritize rebounding he never will. There was one point in the UNC game where he just stood there and looked at the ball instead of jockeying for position and one of UNC’s guards got the rebound and scored. That’s 2 points for the bad guys due to lack of rebounding - unfortunately that’s not the only example. Not rebounding is costly.

@Kcmatt7 KJ doesn’t box out. Ever. That’s pretty much the biggest reason he doesn’t rebound imho. Maybe it’s by design, but I don’t like it. I don’t think very many of KUs players box out well though. Would love if the staff preached it a bit.

I felt like the first half energy was unsustainable. KU came out too hyped and UNC was a bit overwhelmed. An inferior opponent would have wilted away as KU coasted the second half. Kudos to UNC for making it a game when KU went flat.

KJ can’t rebound to save his life and it costs KU several points. - he came in wearing lingerie and clearly tweeked his leg late in the half. Hunt needed to sit in favor of Flory for a couple of minutes late in the game to get a breather. But really it looked well coached and played game. The crowd was great, but seeing several hundred UNC fans in the building was weird. I’ve never seen that many opposing fans in Allen Fieldhouse.

JBL speakers are garbage. No mid range. The old Fieldhouse sounds crappy - they’ll figure it out…I hope.

@BShark bucket list games UNC and Arizona. - I have family in Arizona. And Arizona on Sr night… wow! Will have to try to make that game. Hope the stars align.

@Zabudda lol. I was actually given tickets, but the price is about a quarter of what it was a couple weeks ago. Probably will just wear my normal day to day - KU t-shirt and hat. Will be easy to spot. 😂

KU UNC tickets are more reasonable now. $250 for ok seats - it was $1000 per seat in the rafters! Hope to see you (will have no idea who you are lol) at the game!

@kuballin10 So the mythical guard that never came to KU… The 20/20 hindsight guy? The top recruit some fantasized about, but didn’t really consider KU? The child that wanted to play closer to home? Who that can realistically play for KU, you know - a guy on the roster, should have been getting those minutes?

As in you’ve got nothing but compliants. You can only work with the guys on the roster. No one else gets to play.

Do you always find yourself thinking the person at the other table is hotter than your current beau? That life is unfair and has dealt you the short end of the stick? If so it might, just maybe be… well you know, not everyone else’s fault.

1/17 of a season vs a game against Howard. I wear a KU basketball T-shirt and hat everyday, but even I know what is more relevant big picture. 😝

Kansas is an over ranked, not yet congealed basketball team composed of a group of guys I hardly recognize due to modern recruiting turning KU into Kentucky lite. Hard to care about all the one year college players. If this is the ongoing trend for a few more seasons, college ball is going to lose me. I like watching freshmen turn into upperclassmen that have developed over their careers like DeJuan and KJ or even opponents that have been around and killing KU forever, but Storr, Coit, Mayo, Griffen, miss state guy and whomever I’m forgetting do nothing for me.

It’s like Remmy - probably don’t win without him, but he is completely forgettable; just a glory seeker - I think of Dave and Och and Harris and Wilson and all the long time players and as an after thought I occasionally remember Remmy who helped make it possible. But mostly I think about him hamming it up on the front of the national championship picture - me first type of guy.

I will learn to appreciate and care for some of the short term guys. It’s just not very palatable at the moment.

@kuballin10 So Self has shown he knows which players to play to win - he had Remy and used him to full effect - won a title. Who on the current roster should be playing over DeJuan and what are you basing that off of? Have you spent time in practice? Do you have inside info on team chemistry? Or is it just what you see for 40 minutes on game day like the rest of us.

@jayballer67 during the scrimmage against Arky the announcers called Harris the best point guard in college ball. I’m not sure I 100% agree with that, but he’s definitely solid. We’ll miss him next season, but someone will figure it out and off the team goes again.

@stoptheflop The defense playing so well is the reason that the Chiefs play calling has switched from 60/40 pass/run to 40/60. Strategy and personnel. The defense suffers when the offense scores quickly. Complimentary units. But they definitely need to improve red zone scoring - and I hope Nuk alleviates some of those issues.

I love how the talking heads drool over Lamar Jackson’s stats while failing to recognize that he doesn’t make winning plays. I have very little concern when the Chiefs play him.

Raiders soon to be ex coach Pierce - we have the Mahomes rules (harm Mahomes if possible). Similar to the pistons Jordan rules - rough him up at every possible opportunity. Play dirty, just don’t get caught. Hope the O-line is up to the challenge!
