@BShark The Bengals are resting all their players this week! Hypocrites!!! š
@Jhawk69 Bengalās tears are nearly as tasty as Tiger tears! Certainly very salty!!!
When almost all the good writers left I all but quit reading KUSports. Iāve been on that site about a half dozen times in the last few years. Keegan had quite the staff assembled, back in its heyday.
Finally Hunt. Sheesh. 7ft dunk the ball, a novel idea

@approxinfinity I do think it's pretty clear that Flory is better than KJ. KJ has "earned it" by being here 4 years blablabla but Flory just has a better impact on the game at this point.
9 rebound KJ doesnāt hurt the team. 2 rebound KJ does. 6 fouls per 40 Flory canāt play the entire game.
@approxinfinity said in Central Flaw rid unh-uh:
The team we saw vs UCF would have destroyed our team that limped into the post season last year
And no KUKaren is going to tell me otherwise!!!
A game Mahomes plays 4 quarters in is very unlikely to be a loss, much less a blowout loss. 80% QBWinz stat lol - take it to the bank 80% of the time.
@SlimShaddy54 Amazing what rebounding effort does for a team!

Kinda funny , Gurly talking with Coach in post game and Gurly asked Coach what he thought the difference was today ? - -He said he think they were a pissed off team ( KU ) - -I said the same thing , I think the guys were just pissed off
Probably not a good idea to accidentally drop the confetti on the team you hope to upset in the pre-game shoot around. Might be a minor motivator. š
Glad to see Billās face isnāt too jacked up. - after his spill

Welcome aboard! - down periscope
Wendy - old joke - gotta assume āWelcome to Jamaica have a nice dayā wonāt fit
@wissox Iām gathering they called goal tending. At which point the ball is dead. Bummer about the bad whistle. I hate that on run outs too.

@SlimShaddy54 Itās something fans hold dear but truly is meaningless
People say hey it shows consistent winning but based on other big 12 teams not doing anything in the tourney 90% of the years it was a step up from what we hammer Gonzaga over dominating a weak conference
Iād trade the streak for 1-2 more titles without blinking an eye
Titles are all that matter
If KU was undefeated at this moment none of us would have heard a pep from you. That matters š š š
@SlimShaddy54 said in West Virginia- a game finally:
I think we have seen the days where Ku has run rough shod over the Big twelve is done- - those days are over
The 12 year win streak wasnāt due to anything other than being adidas flagship program at a time other schools were less willing to pay their players than KU, Duke, and Kentucky were. More talent due to a bigger investment (cheating better) but the table has been leveled and the transfer portal makes it hard to retain all the talent.
When is the last time you can think of a team, not in a poor conference like Gonzaga, that won the conference more than 2 years in a row? It just doesnāt happen often and with the transfer market/player movement the way it is, itās not likely to happen again.
Letās calla spade a spade. The recruiting scene has changed - the NCAA witch hunt cooled recruiting and the rule change reduced KUs advantage.
@approxinfinity said in West Virginia- a game finally:
@kuballin10 i think we made a false dichotomy around that one. āTradingā the streak for titles was never on the table. We won the conference in 2008, 2012 and 2022.
The lose the conference to win a national championship was the dumbest argument Iāve ever heard. Total loser mentality - could not handle the stress of winning. I canāt believe that anyone as seemingly knowledgeable about the game as posters on here would die on that hill and yet they did.

@dylans It isnāt uninspiredā¦ā¦the team lead by 3 guys is going on another season of the exact same Lās
They just arenāt that good is the reality
I think they could be decent but the HOF coach isnāt maximizing his players and playing to their strengths let alone playing the right players to their potentialā¦.
Bless your heart.
Iām glad they lost. That uninspired effort deserves a L. Now learn from it and move on.

-- If this were baseball ... it's time to send Storr and Griffen to outright waivers. Would we miss them? Not tonight for sure. What purpose do they serve? They are stiff as boards and shit their pants every time they get in the game.
Storr - 2nd team all big 10 averaging 17 a game
Griffen - third leading scorer at 11 ppg on a final 4 team last year
They now look like theyāve suddenly forgotten how to play basketballā¦ā¦this has been a theme with transfers so is it the transfer whoās the issue or the coach?
Answer is plain as day but homers donāt want to admit it
lol lol lol. All transfers to KU suck! (Omits the two leading scorers from the team.)
Iām not 100% sure why, but the meltdown on here is so humorous to me. People losing their shit over something completely unimportant (entertainment) just warms my heart to know youāre all in such a good place that this little unimportant stuff matters so much to ya. Happy days, happy new year!!!
Didnāt enjoy the game, but the game thread meltdown is as expected, hilariously entertaining.
Happens for KU basketball too. KU recruits a guy and his ranking goes up. KU backs off and it usually goes down. It makes sense that the best performing universities also do a good job of scouting talent - if they hope to have success they better be better than the ranking systems.
@SlimShaddy54 Remind me again, who beat both those teams?
Misery loves company huh? My best friend died 3 weeks ago in his 40s. His brotherās daughter was killed in a wreck a week ago, sheās a teenager. Makes my shoulder surgery 3 weeks ago seem insignificant. Hug those kids!
@AsadZ Watson is out for the season I believe.
Per ESPN
14 hours agoBrown (shoulder) is scheduled for a checkup with his surgeon during Week 15 and could receive clearance to resume practicing thereafter, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Spin: Brown has been out all season after suffering a sternoclavicular joint injury to his left shoulder in the Chiefs' Aug. 10 preseason opener and then undergoing surgery in mid-September. Though initial reports after his surgery was performed suggested that Brown would likely miss the entire regular season, the wideout has seemingly avoided any setbacks thus far in the recovery process and looks like he'll have a chance to get in a few tune-up games before the playoffs get underway. If Brown's surgeon is satisfied with the health of his shoulder following the upcoming checkup, the Chiefs will likely open the receiver's 21-day practice window before mapping out a target date for his season debut. Rapoport notes that Brown could be ready for game action as soon as Week 16, when the Chiefs host the Texans on Dec. 21.
Watching the Bears inept clock management made me realize how big of losers they are. That group will never win. Fire the coach and get someone to coach up Caleb - it is on the QB just as much as the coach in that moment so get him a good mentor. Losers making losing plays.
@AsadZ No just in KC. KSHB (NBC/41-Kansas City)

Well then, go fuck yourself too!
Seriously not joking. Youāre the worst.
@BeddieKU23 I am of the contention that anyone can rebound. I firmly believe this because it was the only thing I was good at. lol. It doesnāt require much skill, just a basic understanding of angles - where the ball will end up after a shot leaves the hand is easy for me to project, perhaps it isnāt for others. The rest is just hustle - get to the spot the ball is headed and seal your man off. Maybe Iām taking for granted that some people canāt see the angles, it just seemed so natural to me - the only thing on the court that did.

Disagree he's playing too many. Play your depth, injuries happen, if you can minimize the risk of injury with some of the guys right now for the long haul you do it. Injuries and guys getting worn down from too many minutes is a real thing that has happened to Hunt, Juan and KJ. We have 10 that belong, figure it out
He always plays this many early, especially in games where we will win anyway. He knows it will be trimmed by conference play but compared to last year the minutes for the big three should hopefully be down.
UNC game was more telling. Bill tightens up his rotation when the competition ramps up.
Letās leave pegging to the marvel universe.
Now he needs to break out the punt/pass - where the punter underhand tosses the ball high so it looks like a punt. Then the gunners catch it and advance the ball or get interfered with since the other team thinks itās a punt that they have the right to. It only works if the refs are paying attention and the receiving team isnāt.
Itās understandable if you canāt develop a shot, but anyone can rebound. KJ doesnāt crash the boards. If there is an improbable rebound - like when a guard runs into the paint and snags the board - that will never be KJ. He does other things very well, but costs the team on the boards. Nice kid, dunks the crap out of the ball, very athletic, doesnāt have a nose for boards.
It was hilarious to listen to Will Howard throw them under the bus in his interview last week. Said he had never been coached until he reached OSU. He said heās never played with such talented players before. Every comment was a backhanded insult to KSU.
And thatās why he has so little fans. No one at OSU cares about a middling one year QB. And heās lost all his KSU support. If you look at panini direct his cards are among the slowest selling. Not many fans. Kinda pathetic.
72 fish are popping corks tonight. Probably should not wait on the last team to lose at their age thoughā¦
Too bad they didnāt put it together earlier in the season. Glad to see them exceed my expectations and get back on track.
Go Jayhawks! Thatās all. Have a great night!
47! Free throws!?! At what point do the refs start to think maybe the fans are here to see the players and not us?
Boring fight - too old. Good on Jake for not destroying the old man. Just played defense and it was more than enough.
lol thatās what cracks me up. Simple minded people canāt grasp his not complex message that family is more important than anything. Comical how warped people get when they want to be triggered.
Melt I say.
@approxinfinity Yeah. It sucks. Losing the 2nd most accurate kicker of all time is a blow. The guy they signed off the Jets practice squad looks really good though.
I think Butker should be called flamethrower. He makes the snowflakes melt. lol you should see all the ācan he find the kitchen while heās homeā jokes.
Meniscus- should be back for the playoffs- maybe the last couple games as well. Just when they started to get healthier as a team too! - pop, juju, and Omenihu are practicing - juju should play.
How about that Friday night fight between a nearly 60 year old man and a 27 year old internet dork? I really hope Tyson destroys Paul, but heās old!!! Iād hate to see an old man get pummeled.
@stoptheflop Bring it! I love the bewildered look in Joshās eyes when Mahomes orchestrates a comeback and beats his team yet again. - although the Bills have won a few regular season games against the Chiefs (Iām ok with that as long as the playoff record remains unblemished!!!)
The point of boxing out is to put yourself in position to rebound as well as prevent the opponent from grabbing the rebound - he half gets it on the defensive end. But if you canāt predict where the ball is going as it leaves the shooters hand youāre not going to be in position. He just doesnāt see the angles. - I bet heās a mark at the pool table.
@approxinfinity We saw during the UNC game how Bill will manage his lineup in March - he will identify the guys he trusts and ride them into the dirt. It will either work or theyāll flame out in the second game (round of 32 or elite 8 ) on short rest. A deeper rotation should help with the second game fatigue that we commonly see. Time will tell how Self decides to play the guys and who all steps up to demand/earn minutes.
@BShark Likely so unless it causes spacing issues.
Diggy has struggled the last couple games.
