I guess it doesn't hurt to dream if that's what you want. -I'm just saying from what Malik has aid in the past - what was highly conjectured his intention is to play the one year and then declare. - -He already tested the NBA and was told to come back If I remember right when he was at Mississippi State.

Even if he is not ready , and unless he makes a dramatic turn around he is not ready for the NBA. - -Starting to think he like some others stated MAYBE he might have been over rated but the scouts some - - it's happened before. - I'm not seeing NBA on him at the present

On top of that I really don't think their is an available spot for him as I think Coach Self went into the recruiting year fully with the belief that Malik was gone after this year. - - There is where Grimes was recruited to take Malik spot. - Now I don't need someone trying to say - -no Quentin was recruited as a PG - -no he wasn't he was recruited as a 2 - -Devon was recruited as our point guard of the future from the get go - -and I fully believe BOTH was told as such -Quentin the 2 spot - Devon the 1. - If he were to try and come back that would be forcing somebody out - -unless he were to give up on Langford which I don't think he is going to do that - No Scholi's left

Vick I fully believe will declare for the NBA -he has already some pretty decent improvement this year - I just think he is gone. It is not the gate receipts that generate income, it is the Conference TV contract ...and other teams going to bowls. The football team could play in an empty stadium and still generate bigger revenue than the basketball program.

As I have mentioned before actually the rankings in the regular season doesn't really mean Jack other then the fans being able to gloat - -beat their chest like OH look at us. - -

The fault is not ONE guy - -it's the entire team - every single one. This team has glaring issues on defense, the biggest one is they can't cut off dribble dives to if their life depended on it.

People is just way off base trying to point out Mitch, ya very very true Mitch is not good on Defense - but he is just part of the problem - by far not THE PROBLEM. -I can point to any single player out there and they all have the same problem - none of them can defend - - period.

This team lacks leadership, someone that will get in the face of others let them know hey come on we have to step this up , that take charge guy. This has already been discussed earlier but it's true - we don't have that get angry guy - that Alpha.

Sure we looked like gang busters when playing the South Dakota States - - The Oakland's - The Texas Southerns. - -When we play quality teams - - Kentucky - -Syracuse ya we won - but we strugled. We struggles with Kentucky's length the entire game , - -We struggled against Syracuse for over half the game. - - -Washington - -and Now Arizona State? - - We looked like crap.

We have some people here that have the impression If or when Billy Preston gets back that he is going to be the almighty savior. Is he going to be that ever lasting defensive stopper? - -Is he going to make that difference , um he will help possibly but our defensive problems is far more then what Billy can do for us, - -Is Billt that great of Defense himself? - -probably not as he has yet to touch the floor in a game when it matters. we don't know. - -Sure he will help on the offensive end I imagine, but that's not where the problem is - - It's our defenive end that is just killing us. -These teams are getting pretty much anything they want at anytime they want.

Well my KU Brothern we are coming to the close of another year. Where does time go my friends? So with the New Year approaching , it's time for Resolutions - well from me anyways. - So:

Let me say 1st and foremost how much I enjoy this room, and yes how much I appreciate everyone in here, I find it pretty cool how many can give really good insight at various times. I always look forward to any recruiting news/rumor. - -Everypone here has been really good to me all things considered & I want it to remain that way.

Now I know I've gotten into some oh let's say for the lack of better wording, -some heated exchanges at times - at times bad enough where the good ol boys locked the conversation. I admit I get carried away, I have a fault at times of being to passionate for the Crimson and blue. - Not only here but among others outside of here. - I just hate peope talking smack about KU - -plain and simple. probably why I got kicked out of the Kentucky board lmao.

Just looking at the stat comparison of these two teams really similar. Both teams play 7, big drop off after.

ASU 91 ppg , - -KU 89 ppg - - -ASU 52.2 fg%- - KU 52.5 fg%- - - ASU 73 ft%- - KU 71.7 ft %- - - ASU 41.6 -- 3point % - - -KU 41.7- - 3 point %

Their Perimeter players shoot really well from the line , 85 , 87, 86 from the line - - Their bigs pretty suspect - -Both 60%. - - Our Perimeter pretty respectable - Our Big - horrible. 40%

Neither team turns the ball over a lot. - -Both at 12 a game.

We rebound , Assist, Steal & Block a little better then ASU - but no major difference

They have 5 players averaging double figures - - - We have 5 players averaging double figures.

What's all this mean? - -Means these two teams look pretty damn close, on paper anyways , and this Is one game I feel the paper doesn't really mis lead us that much. - - We better be ready, Phog or no Phog. We better have a complete 360 from Mid Week.

The two of them Walton and the play by play guy spent 2/3 of the game talking about totally un-related BS. - Everything BUT the game. The game would be going on back and forth up and down the court and the two of them would be talking about bike rides, Walton asking the other if he had ever been to this place or that, Trying to name the 12 people for something hell I don't even know what that was.

Then they might say a lil something about the game, When Walton make a statement hell most the time it was wrong. - He talked about how much better Oklahoma passed the ball shared better - then they flash the stat up on assists and USC had more then Oklahoma. - -Or every time you turned around he was trying to tell someone to slap a ball back, and if it got blocked he would say some silly crap like on of the greatest blocks of all time.

As far as the superior record just goes to show you made the remark about our non con this year talking about how great a winning pct WSU had had over the last years - then I point out KU 's record is even better then that - and against much stiffer competition - now it becomes you don't understand why the record means so much.

You was the boosting about what great job WSU had done since 2000 what a winning pct they had and how no one could compare to that - -well Ku has and it was against much better competition. - And ya with my logic most of the time we DO play that type off schedule if you would like to go back and look at the past seasons to see who our Non con was - again year after year we play one of the toughest Non Con in the Nation. - -But yet you say nothing about that , you only care to bring up about how weak our schedule is this year - umm that sounds about right.

Using one example from this year you remember South Dakota state - -a weak team right? - -That weak team was kicking the all and might Shockers butts all over the court for 3/4 of the game they end up winning by 10 - -you remember right that same team we destroyed by 34? - a lot of these teams we scheduled are or were predicted to win their Conference this year. - do I like the schedule this year? - -hell no but these are made years in advance. - -I would much rather play the Duke's Arizona's - & Kentucky's of the Nation hell ya - -also goes back to the Media attention the TV rating those games draw Nationally compared to a KU - WSU match up Nationally. Agree, yet when he makes statements about how pretty much ignorant then it kind of takes on another light. Just because you don't agree with what another poster says doesn't mean as what they say doesn't have some worth whether others think so or not. Nowhere there indicates the percentage was achieved by playing in the MVC.

The Big 12 is not just "better" than an unnamed conference, it is orders of magnitude better than the MVC. The Big 12 routinely send 60%-70% of its teams to the NCAA Tournament the MVC 10%.

Do you know how many MVC championships WSU has won in the last 20 years in the MVC? 6 including 1 by Turgeon. Do you know how many MVC Tournament Titles it has in the last 20 years? Would you believe 2? That is correct, just 2. Again, the most teams the MVC has sent to the NCAA is 2 (20%) while the Big 12 routinely send 6 or 7 teams (60%-70%). I am confident that if WSU played in the Big 12 it would have been a middle of the pack team at best although in the last few years it could have been definitely top half.
