@BShark I just know Self said Bobby is going to be a special player at Kansas. That is SUCH high praise from him I just don't see how he doesn't see big minutes next year. Add the point guard that led Kansas to a title who will definitely play 30+ and you've got a bunch of minutes in the back court accounted for. I still believe Yes is going to play too. He showed small bursts of what he could be and it was fun. I'd like to see more of that, personally.

I think and heard a pretty good chance when it's all said and done - -Joe , is another very likely transfer. - - -If Davis DOES indeed come so then you have lot's of floor time experience , established scorer. - -and as you said Bobby will be playing more add him with Juan - Joe get's squeezed

@benshawks08 Very sure. There is no scoring punch in those 3 (Joe scored off very high volume in a stretch where Drake had no one else). Could see Joe leaving after we bring in another small guard.

Was just gonna say about the scoring. If this is Davis from SMU we are talking here, if there is a possibility of him coming here - -then you go head 1st, like 19.4 ppg and I think over it was like 4.3 assists per right ? - -and on top of that right at 37 or a hair over shooting the three. You HAVE to go after someone like that if he is showing interest in you- -which I've he is very interested not even a question about it - -!00 % take

@jayballer67 I think the only way he leaves for the draft is if the NCAA hammers us b4 the draft. If I'm wrong, I assure you I will be the first to admit it. I say he declares for the draft with the option to come back, and he takes that option and comes back. I could be wrong- I was wrong about Embiid. But I don't think so...lol.

I'd love CB to be back, but if the feedback he gets is that he'll be a late first-early second round pick, he's likely gone because he won't improve his draft stock very much coming back.

that's my thought I just don't think he is going to improve his stock enough to come back. The mock draft I saw Cb in had him as the 2nd pick in the 2nd round and I really have a hard time thinking he would eve make 1st round

This is why CB will be back:

1- He has the chance to be this year's Ochai. I believe he deferred to Ochai alot this year the same way Devonte deferred to Frank his senior year. In CB's mind, it is his turn to be the star this upcoming year.

2- His relationship with Juan is extremely tight- they are best friends.

3- He didn't test the NBA waters last year. Och did, came back, and vastly improved his draft order this year. Braun will do the same.

4- CB isn't being mocked as a first rounder. I've seen him come in at 36 in one mock, 54 in another. No doubt, most mocks suck. But the example staring right in his face is Och's path, which is going to compel him to take the same path, and not settle for non guaranteed money.

5- CB is King on campus. Leaving that for the great unknown and the land of the non guaranteed contract is a bridge too far, imo.

6- This isn't a kid that has to score big in the NBA draft to help his family. Plus, the NIL money will tide him over.

This is purely my conjecture- I think CB will definitely test the NBA waters, and will decide to come back. I'm more worried about JW coming back than CB.

one more time my friend - NO WAY both will be back. And as far as CB and Juan being friends - - CB can be in the NBA and STILL be close friends. - the draft I have seen him in he is the 32nd pick to I believe to Golden State. I think the whole thing about about him being some King is the least of his thought process he can come back to the KU campus just like other former players and still be treated like that King. - - The goal for Cb just like any other true red blooded kid the ultimate goal is to play or be given the chance to play in the NBA. -he is at the top of the 2nd round right now in mock drafts why is he gonna risk coming back and take the risk of some possibly severe injury and not be able to play ? - why take the chance to come back and NOT improve which I think is likely as I think he has just about hit his ceiling for pro wise. It's all about the money - -if he is indeed at that spot in the draft - -then he needs TO GO while the going is good. KU will be just fine WITHOUT CB coming back. we were fine before he got here & we will be fine AFTER he leves

4 star guard Rayvon Griffith cut his list to 5 including KU. The #42 ranked prospect has a final 5 of Alabama, Cincinnati, Kansas, Ohio State, and UCLA. He's from Ohio. Hello!

Kansas: "Bill Self recruits me. They are a big time school and I feel I am a big time player so I like the way the have been recruiting me. They play with a chip on their shoulder every time they go out and play."

When discussing what he is looking for out of a program when visit season arrives, Griffith said, "I am looking for a brotherhood that values winning and has an up and down playing style."

Currently ranked No. 45 nationally in 2023, Midwest Basketball Club wing Rayvon Griffith was pretty impressive on Saturday. He’s a big wing that can play at the two or as a small forward and he can get hot from deep in a hurry. His athleticism is budding, he plays fast and his game appears to be headed in a very positive direction

What's our fate? β€’ Apr 11, 2022 01:38 PM

I too am guessing , yet I dunno I just get a gut feeling and yes I know the NCAA turned it over to this what is it Iiarp what the hell ever - but I still think them and the NCAA go hand in Hand working together. As we all know or should know the NCAA , has had a hard on for KU for some time now wanting to stick it to us if there was any way feasible that they could. Why ? - -because KU won't put up with their BS , KU has always fought back and just won't be that whipping dog, which just frustrates the NCAA to no end.

Having said that if this group finds against KU & Coach Self. - I think they will try and hit us and hit us Hard. - With the alleged 5 Level 1 penalities which is the most severe they are gonna want to take that and run with it and run for all it's worth. So I guess I would have to agree pretty much with the summary you have with # 3.

It will be Serious , trying to make an example out of a Blue Blood , trying to send a message trying to act like they got total control of Schools - - -they don't. So like I said I do agree mostly with the # 3 I just have this feeling they WILL come down with show cause for Coach Self the extent of it I don't really know but just feel they will try and stick that dam lack of institutional control on him.. If he is suspended I really think it will be for the year, which in turn I'm afraid IF that happens Coach Self may just very well say screw this I am done with the NCAA and walk away. I think we will also be hit with a year ban from the NCAA tourney , which will bite because that would stop our record for having the longest appearances in the Tourney , I think this was our what either 31st or 32nd straight year ? Yet I'm not sure about multiple losses of scholarships I think possibly ONE. - - Plus if we get hit I think our asst will be let go. - It isn't gonna be nice I'm afraid - -you can take it to the bank KU will fight this through Court for the longest time if needed

What were they trying to hit?

Really don't know. - Heard that these people and the people that live across the street from them have been getting into it about car flying down the street. Yet our house got hit - -Neighbors house was hit and another Neighbors house got really hit - we live like 7 housed down the street and we still caught it

Well guys, still kinda shook , just thanking GOD giving praise that I'm still here - -still alive. -- I was at mu house in my back yard with my dog-- I was sitting on the ground cleaning some steps from all the excess dirt and such for spring when gun fire popped off REALLY CLOSE & i DO MEAN CLOSE the gun shots were so close I actually heard the whizzing of a bullet fly by my head - -dead serious it was that close. I hit the ground laid flat as flat could be and then I heard a shot hit a house. So after they stopped I hollered at my next door Neighbour and elderly lady to see if she had heard them and if she was all right.

She said a round had actually hit her TV in the house , the police was called and they came and investigated found out where the bullet hit and went through the house and hit her TV. she was really lucky as if she had been sitting in her recliner she would of been shot. Police talked to us for awhile and I told them where I thought the shots came from - like 6-7 house down from me on same side of the street.

They said they was going to talk to them , so they did and I looked down and noticed one of the Cruisers was parked Diagonal across our street blocking the street with it's red and blues on - plus two other units well after awhile they came back to talk more to us and said they had found 19 shell casings - -NINETEEN said they had to come from an AR Assault rifle. they asked if we wanted to press charges and my neighbor and I both said we were afraid of retaliation. they said they understood and didn't have to decide right now. - -They came back and got my Neighbors TV for evidence going to get the bullet out of the TV Said they had pretty good evidence and something I had no idea they said they could get DNA from the casings - -saying they had to have their fingers on the rounds to load the rifle.

Then I said I was going to check the truck to make sure it was locked up and the wife said to check and make sure our truck hadn't got hit - - walked around on the passenger side of the truck and sure enough the truck did ge hit, and then there was a round that hit our house too. they said we got lucky that the ruck must of deflected the round up into the top of the house cause if it wouldn't have it would of went right through the wall and would of hit my wife where she was sitting on the couch - GOD is watching ove us - -very scary just thanking GOD for protecting my wife and me both - I'm am not lying I'm still shook

You haven't earned that comeback until you watch halftime, and suffer, suffer, SUFFER!!!!

only ONE difference I didn't know we hd won. - I was listening from the 1st inbounds pass of the 2nd half - I just wasn't gonna watch on TV -at least for a bit. - I thought Well I'll jsut listen to our local reporters but not have to listen Rafferty or the others sure the hell wasn't gonna listen to Kenny Davis - Although I heard it all afterwards. - I got to hear Charles talking about he was wondering what the hell we was doing in the 1st half.- - So WRONG I did earn the come back

Nov 23rd - -25th we got 3 of the field which includes - -Tennessee , Wisconsin , Dayton , USC , BYU , Butler , & NC State in ( The Battle 4 Atlantis )

Then don't have the dates but other Non Con games are : Gonzaga , Missouri , (lmao ) , Indiana , And the the SEC Challenge

Got to say could be challenging with a pretty new roster.

As a side note red today too where we are playing in the Maui in 2023 the field includes: Gonzaga , Marquette , Purdue , Syarcuse , Tennessee , UCLA , & Chaminade - -pretty solid for sure

But - Jayhawk Nation needs to thank me as well. I'll go out on a limb here and let you know why we won.

At halftime - I threw in the towel and went to bed. That's right - National Championship night - I said I don't have to watch this crap.

If I had stayed up, we go home a loser. Now you know the rest of the story.

You're welcome, Jayhawk Nation.

hA , i WENT TO BED TO - - SHUT THE tv OFF , TOLD THE WIFE THE GAME WAS over. - -I did lay in bed thought and listen on the radio , then when they started their come back i says to myself - - - Self I says get your ass up and turn that TV back on BOY lol - - - -OH YE OF LITTLE FAITH LOL - - ROCK CHALK

OK soo now peek at next year β€’ Apr 05, 2022 03:33 PM

So now that we are National Champs what's coming next year - -how we gonna play: - I think with us winning THIS YR I think that makes up the mind of some for next year We know we are losing: - Ochai , Dave , Mitch , Jalen Lands , Remy for sure. Then really think with this Championship very easily now lose Jalen , & Quite possibly Christan - -Then rumors of portal possible : - Cam , Sam - so if that all DOES PLAY OUT that's a lot of bodies to replace - whatcha think? - - that would be 9 departures - let me hear ya

@justanotherfan said in OK so CBS feels the need for their two cents worth:

Defending this title will be exceptionally difficult. KU has to replace four of their top 7 players in Agbaji, McCormack, Martin and Lightfoot. Even if Yesufu and Pettiford step into Remy's role, I doubt they are as effective as he was next year. Even if Braun continues to improve (and returns), does either Dick or Rice fully replace what Agbaji brought? Same question for Wilson. And how do we replace what McCormack did down the stretch?

Simply put, investigation or not, next year's team will likely take a bit of a step back. Look what happened to Baylor this year. They were good, but got derailed by injuries as the season wore on. Gonzaga just wasn't quite as good this year. It's hard to duplicate this type of success in college basketball because you have to replace so many key pieces after a season like this.

Bask in this glory, because its a long way back up the mountain.

Kind of crazy and trying to figure out how but ESPN had an article that has KU as the favorite to repeat as NCAA Champs next yr 2023: according to Caesars Sportsbook KU is 10/1 - -Gonzaga 12/1 - -Ariz - Kentucky - -& Duke - -15/1- that's crazy

@wissox said in OK so CBS feels the need for their two cents worth:

When the Marlins won their first world series, the owner was being interviewed in the postgame and first question out of the interviewers mouth is "are you breaking down the team?" When the 50 greatest living baseball players were assembled pregame for an MLB all star game Pete Gray asks Pete Rose, while lined up on the field "did you gamble on baseball?" When Roy Williams was interviewed post game in 2003 first question was "are you going to Carolina?" His answer is famous in KU folklore of course. Reporters and media are notorious for this, and to be perfectly honest there's a lot of Americans who liked the CBS article because they want to see us get it.

Your right - - there ARE a lot of people that want that - want to see us get blasted100 % right. - found it a little interesting went to the Baylor board just curious to see and actually they were pretty positive for the most part there - as they say Success brings envy - -haters gonna hate

Dave showed - -and he showed when we needed him to show. - Been a lot of people really talk poorly about him from time to time yet he just kept working - -there was multiple games this year he carried us for big stretch's where if it wasn't for him we would of been in trouble. - - Kid is built solid and he has done well and I for one am glad he played for the University of Kansas. He is just another guy that I don't think got the appreciation he really deserved, kinda of in that Landen Lucas mold - not extremely talented but solid - -did he have bad games ? - -Hell ya he did but who on this team didn't - -it happens.

Yet I think when people look back people will be glad he was a member of the team. - - look at what he did in the tourney and ya this is just three games BUT : - Villanova - - -25 points- -9 Rebounds - - -Miami 15 points - - North Carolina - -15 points - - and 10 rebounds - -I'll take that ANY DAY - -Good luck big boy - - gonna miss you - - ROCK CHALK

ummmm unless it’s Mitch. - maybe not the impact s Dave but can never question his heart, and he FOR SURE bleeds Crimson & Blue and actually I would of neve envisioned him as as gooood of shot locker that he is

Did you see right after the final second ticked off the clock? Self came up and gave a real big squeeze to Mitch!

Ya I caught that - -pretty cool stuff . - Mitch wasn't the most talented kid but he would give his right arm I think for KU- - -nothing he wouldn't do - TRUE all the way through and through Crimson & Blue

OK, just trying to understand WHY on Championship night CBS feels the need to bring this dam investigation into the Conversation. - -I mean it's an interesting read check it out , it's under What's next for Coach Self.

They talked about what he might do, talking about how he wouldn't be coaching in November do to upcoming for sure definite suspension looming according to sources saying that KU's case will be handed sanctions in the near future - Severe sanctions according to CBS sources s saying Coach's suspension could be from double digit games to an entire Season. - Wondering if he would stay and fight or saying maybe he steps away - -stating what does he have left to prove, saying he has won multiple National Championships now-- -won 14 straight Conference Championships which will neve be duplicated - -HOF Coach

They talk about how KU may not even be able to defend it's title might be loss of Scholarships and the Suspension of Coach. - They brought up how he might step away from College and try a stint in the NBA as has been mentioned before Like I said interesting story - -YES - -BUT why did they feel the need to try and delute tonights Championship try and take away from the moment- typical CBS - check it out guys
