It's becoming clear we're going to whiff on a ton of local kids this cycle. No reason to panic, but also not ideal
National guys or mostly to KState?
A little of both. Avery Johnson seems likely to KSU now. A lot of bigger places have slow played him. KU has recruited him the hardest, but seems like we're the nerd hitting on the prom queen. The RBs will go elsewhere. Nobody seems to know jack on Randle, but it's 100% not KU. We don't have the... resources... to pull that one off. Edwards looks like OU. The OL are tricky. I really, really, really want Otting and Clements but Otting seems to be holding out for Iowa and Clements possibly Baylor. I think KU sits in the second tier with both. Wes Fair is going to KSU. The only local kids I feel good about are Sam Same and Tre Richardson. To a lesser extent Andre Davis. I think we're in the top tier with all those guys, but someone could swoop in and snag Davis if he has a good year.
Rumor is KSU is offering $50k for Kansas guys to sign. I don't know exactly where we are but I know it's not that high.
Update: we’re in the top tier for Clements. The hometown hero thing and publicity that comes with it is appealing.

Really not anything even beginning to be excited about through the portal - kinda sucks, see all these other schools pulling these guys is - -Us NADA -ZELCH - -ZERO. But you also have to look at it this way, you just don't take someone to be taking someone and then say - -oh ya we were really active through the portal Coach knows what he is doing.
Thankfully it looks like maybe we dodged the whole Dennis BS , you can't tell me that there aren't many players better talented - better fit for the KU team then Dennis. I watched Dennis play a lot and NOT that impressed. - Many times became a black hole you throw the ball to him - it's not coming back many forced shots -many low percentage shots so hope we put that conversation to rest --hopefully he ends up in Indiana would very happy with that. So Although we have no one at the present, seems like we go through this evey year & every year we end up just fine- Got to beleive -- Got to have trust in the Staff I'm sure we will get really good players/role players whatever is needed when it's all said and done

For sure. He was WR1. I can also say for sure the others were all planned. Trimming the fat. They’ll get more dudes in the portal this spring and summer. May 1 is the portal deadline for fall eligibility so we’ll know some more then.
We lose Arnold , Rector , Golightly & Pearson Wide R. - they were all planned ? - -FWIW and may not be much but TOS some were saying possible tampering wit Arnold and things being said like Arnold to Texas Tech withing 48 hrs. - Any substance to that you think Farmer ?

like I've read most of these guys coming out of spring practice saw where they stood on the depth chart , realized there chance of seeing the field was not like what they had hoped. - Possibly being recruited ove, since Coach has got here better athletic players, just look at some of out portal transfer coming in. Coming out or some coming out of Big time Schools- -Ohio St - -Nebraska - Michigan St , just getting better athletes all part of turning this program around - it happens at every school things like this - -kinda sucks in a way getting recruited over BUT it happens just part of the game. - - wish all these kids well , 8 is enough but I have seen schools lose more then this - again bottom line Coach just having to adjust adapt make better quality team. Admittedly I don't fully understand what the "show cause" means. What the ramifications of that really add up to.

We get the chance of more ranked wins because of our conference, just goes to show how tough our conference is. - Then just shows how big our N - - - - are by winning those game - -KU really tough to Beat Our Conference petty dam tough it'sslf. - Really is kind of surprising the distance between us and Duke @ 2nd.

When the game was being decided in the last 3 minutes, I keep going back to Remy's block as the most critical play. Championship Remy as I will always think about him was a blur making the block. Our players still had defensive energy during those 3 minutes, while NC players were exhausted and were realizing they couldn't finish with the win.
You could always go back to Dave's jump hook that he missed and just out fought Manek & Bacot for the rebound and made THE HUGE basket LATE IN the game with like a minute to go

@jayballer67 May I ask all who post here why everyone places KJ Adams in the big man category? He's listed at 6'7" but when he's on the court he looks smaller than that. Braun is sometimes listed at 6'7" and rebounds well but is always listed as a guard. For me the bigs category starts at 6'9". I don't see many players KJ's size listed as a big forward or center. But, to answer jayman's question, before his superior play in the tourny I would have been against Dave returning. Now, Big Dave gets to do whatever he wants; play center for us, coach, or take Brian Hanni's spot, whatever Dave wants to do. Dave's a champion and not many KU players can make that claim.
KJ being listed as a 5 is every minute he played this yr I believe he played at the 5. - I believe he was recruited as a 5 out of high school , could be wrong. He has shown no ability to make any kind of mid range jumper well as of yet while at KU - - think that's where he plays while at KU

Already seeing where Tang is going to make an impact at K/State.- Getting involved or was already involved with some big time players .One of them is Jakobe Walter think he is the 17th ranked player in the nation .He said just as soon as Tang got the job at K/State he face timed Walter and said still was going to recruit him hard - -and Walter saying that him And Tang and the assistant had a really good relation ship.
Then I saw where Layden Blocker a kid that KU was on his final list- - NOW Blocker has added K/State to his list and has a visit planned. These are players that wouldn't of sniff K/State before, I think he is going to get that program turned around guys. Not saying these guys will commit BUT have seen him on some pretty solid recruits that he is interested in or visa versa or both. Hold onto your butts.

Question is and I have been a big fan while he is here, yet still sounds like that MAYBE Dave may return for a Super Season. - So if he returns , does that help us ? - - does it hinder us ? - -if he returns what does that do for the Big men Udeh - - Clemance - - KJ - - and our other big coming in? -- -I don't know what to think, part of me is really ok if he came back - would have experience -- solid rebounding at times - most times actually - - plays well at times - -he is a guy that has been there done that.
