@JayHawkFanToo Very well said. - -the very same point that I have said and many others from different sites. - -It makes it sound I'm trying to put Doke down - -that's not the case at all. - -Like you say Doke is a really good COLLEGE player. - However just as you said he if he wants a legit shot in the NBA - he has just got to develop some kind of outside jumper. - -his little hook is not going to cut it in the NBA - other 5's that can jump higher more mobile will swat that out all day long, Doke can be a very dominant College player - -as you say however the NBA is moving away from the type of game Doke plays - -this make a lot of people wonder if Doke will ever be able to make a living in the NBA.

Oh there will probably be some team that will give him a shot strictly of his bulk - but he needs to improve his lateral foot movement - become a better rim protector/rebounder - -and he is only going to be able to work on that by coming back for yet another year.

One thing that worries me - -is can he develop a jumper? - -when you watch how he struggles shooting a free throw - -the same thing pretty much is used in the mechanics of a jump shot - your elbow - -position of the ball in your hand - etc- - etc -as well as Doke has come along - he has a long ways to go for any kind of extended say in the NBA. - - Another thing is he needs to be more positive on his move - just seems like he try to over think his shot - too mechanical - to slow in developing other when he just rips the rim off - doesn't take a lot of thinking on that shot lol - he just needs to get the ball and go - Still a really good College player. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Read off a Romeo Interview he stated: - - That he was sticking to his three schools , Romeo said he was glad that Louisville had hired a new Coach but it was a little to late for him now.

Romeo's dad said that 10 schools had contacted them in the last month to see if they would be allowed to recruit Romeo on this late date , Tim Langford Romeo's dad said Romeo is so laid back and his dad was trying to maintain and he was so excited to see Romeo at the next level - couldn't wait to make his decision. - Romeo still says it will be after the all star game in Oregon - -which is on the 13th of the month - -Signing period runs from April 11th through May 16th.

Well we just picked up another CB for Romeo - -by Jeff Ermann from the Maryland insider - - - gaining ground we are now like Vanderbilt 40% - -Indiana 35% and then us 25 % -in the past few days we have went from 11% - -to 16% - -to 21% and now like 25% - I'm wondering if something hasn't leaked

Mitch isn't going anywhere. - I have talked to countless people and all pretty much say the same with him. - -Next year will be the perfect year for Mitch to Redshirt . - We have so much depth in the front court next year Both Lawson's - - -De Sousa . McCormack . Quite possibly Doke - -really from what most people say/talk about with Mitch is, he just needs the year to bulk up -add some weight , strengthening -- -really like his work ethic - - pretty decent shot blocker - -has that workman approach - looks as though he has no problem taking the charge - just a scrappy kid - gonna be a really decent 4/5 year player for us. - -Mitch would have been another bad match up against Villanova- -again Villanova's big were much more physical then Mitch being able to matchup with - -just not the make up to be able to contain them he would of been overmatched inside against them - thus again needed redshirt.

Like others in this thread have stated Mitch isn't going anywhere he loves it here - -he loves the school he is 1000000% KU Crimson and Blue transferring for Mitch is not even an option - I think with a Redshirt Mitch will be a nice bonus for us these next couple of years.

As far as Sam - -totally different - -I think somehow Sam got in Coach's doghouse and I mean deep - so his playing time any playing time was out the window for this year -- Now this coming year I think he for sure would get caught up in the numbers game and again will not see much playing time - -his only option would be to transfer to a D-2 school so he could play immediately - -just a bad scenario for him - - -if either of the two transfer it for sure will be Sam - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Just got through listening to Matt Tait this afternoon on his regular weekly with Rock Chalk sports. Had some interesting things to say - agreed with most of what he had to say - -I have had time to talk with some other friends / other people pretty much the same feel.

1st Matt said on Malik's future : - He siad he believes there is close if not definite a zero % chance he returns next year. He said it has been pretty much his plan for some time that he was going to do this this year and then move on, saying he really it really didn't matter how the season turned out, saying he believes his decision had been made for some time. He also mention Malik's Dad saying when he talked to him that got the feel from the way I took it was that without coming right out that Malik would be declaring. - Everyone I've talked with all agreed - not one person felt that Malik is coming back - like Matt said pretty much zero chance. With Matt being close to the KU program and talking with people I feel he has a pretty good sense. - - or feel of things.

2nd Matt said about Vick : - -He thinks in LaGerald's case it's just a situation where Vick just feels it's a case of just moving on to the next chapter in his life. -Can't say I would disagree with that. Matt got to talking about leaders on this coming years team , he said LaGerald is just not a leader doesn't want to be a leader- -you put that with alot of transfers coming in and alot of youth coming in , just doesn't think LaGerald is wired to be a leader - to which I say TRUE - - Matt saying LaGerald might very well be thinking OK SVI - -Devonte they were my boys came in right at or about the same time - - just like Malik , Matt feels that there is proabably just about the same amount of chance of him coming back - feels he has about hit his ceiling as a College player - -said who knows all you have to do is look at Wayne - -you don't for sure have to be drafted - - all you have to do is find that ONE tream - -bust your ass, and that some players actually become better in the pro's - he just feels close to zero % chance just like Malik.

3rd Matt said about Doke : little different case/scenario -In the NBA in this present time, you have to be more then just BIG, Matt says and I've said this to friends when in conversation about Doke - -now if it was 5-10 years ago in the past Doke would be fine BUT with the way the trend is with the NBA going to more of a way of a mobile 5 - a 5 that can be out on the floor at this time Doke is not that type of 5. - Doke may never be that type of 5. - -Matt said Doke just has to develop some kind of shot past a 3 ft hook or whatever - this is so true - that is not going to cut it in the NBA - but Matt said Coach is never going to have Doke develop that at KU - well he said Coach is going to want Doke to plant himself under the basket - -get better - rebound everything and become a better rim protector/blocking shots and such. - Now here is the thing now again I and some people had discussed this but then I heard Matt say it today -that is and some may strongly disagree that's fine - it's just opinions, but the thing is That Doke may never make it in the NBA -again referencing back to the new trend of 5 - he just isn't that type of 5, he is more of the old school type of 5 - -and he has no outside perimeter game at all -that's not good - -right now the present style of 5 qwould eat him alive - -needs even quicker lateral foot movement - -needs to be a beter rebounder/shot blocker - needs to developsome kind of jumper. - -Matt said Doke just needs to re-evaluate who he wants to be - -said he needs to be able to defend beter. - Matt said he tinks Doke may very well test the waters - -get feedback but thinks or feels it would be a mistake for him not to return and work on things - I would have to agreefor sure - -again just opinions my friends, just think Matt makes very solid points. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Refreshing to find someone that is willing to admit the truth. -- - - The pain and simple fact like you said - Villanova just plain and simple the better team. @Kcmatt7 I am in the same boat with you. - I like La Gerald but the thing is I think he is at his ceiling , I don't see him improving or at least improving that much to make it worth his while to come back for one more season. - On top of the fact with him about his ceiling why would he want to take a chance if he feels he is ready why take that chance of coming back risk possible injury like any other athlete does take that chance and possibly ruin ANY chance of playing anywhere for money whether it be the NBA or over sea's?

Got a question. - The signing period is April 11th through May 16th - but seems like they can still commit actually anytime throughout the summer can't they - -thinking that's right cause wew have had transfers announce they were coming after these dates right.?

If there was ever anything more obvious to Doke about NOT being ready fro the NBA it should of been the game last night. - -The reason? - -several:

1. • • Doke can not guard a mobile 5 who can step out on the floor like what happened last night. - If he were to declare for the NBA now - these guys would eat him alive. Doke has multiple things he needs to work on before tries to go that route.

Was talking with some other friends and all agreed. -- In order for Doke to make it in the NBA he just has to develop SOME kind of a jumper whether it even be a 7-10ft jumper - his little hook he has or dunk right now is not going to cut it in the NBA. - - He has to still work on more foot speed - -really actually he is pretty easy predictable at this point what he is going to do once he gets the ball. - He is to methodical almost looks like he is trying to over think what he wants to do

A team that not only won the Conference Championship - -AGAIN - A team that won the post Season Conference Championship - - A team that won the Midwest Regional - -A team that advanced to the Final four - -let me ask did our last years team as good as it was , with the National POY - with a 1st round pick in the NBA at the top of the 1st round art that - -did that team win the Post Season Conference Championship? - - Did that team win the Regional? - - Did that team make the final four? - the answer is - -a resounding - -NO . - but yet this team - -this team that's an embarrassment did all the above with a make shift line up - -a team that had to have a football walk on try out to try and add depth - -any kind of depth to their roster - - a team that had to have another walk on a 6'4 walk on play quality minutes for some stretch ( Clay Young ) -a Team that had their post man go down from yet another injury for a little while - -This team yet accomplished more then other recent more talented teams of ours failed to do.

Well it's here -- Finally. - I've talked with a lot of you asking how you passed this very long week -- Man I've been such a rollercoaster , UP DOWN - - UP - - DOWN. - I've been so anxious nervous . - - I feel we just HAVE to have Devonte be really big in this game. He hasn't really had a good game in this tourney yet. - Let's hope he is on tonight. - -The way it sounds Villanova really going to try and concentrate on shutting Malik down. That's ok, if that's the case then we just have to have the others step up. - We don't need one superman effort - -we just need balance , balance , balance. -however if someone busts out - then cool.

So like I said a couple of things, 1st: - now please be honest ok? - -I know we are all crimson and blue but lets try and be logical/sensible. A question , how do you think this will turn out? - - What's your logic for your answer. - When we answer let's try and step outside our bodies and be totally give a un biased answer. - let you basketball knowledge sink in think about everything - - let's not just say KU because we are KU fans - -if you truly think Villanova wins then just say -and what your reasoning that happens. - -I mean we could very easily get beat.

I'll give my prediction 1st and hope I hear some in return. - - My Prediction? - - Ok I know what I said but I think some how some way when it's all said and done in the end run KU will win somewhere around like 84-79. - -My reasoning? - I mean sure they are going to give us match up problems BUT I think you also have to flip that the other way around they are going to have match up problems with us. - -I think we have to have Devonte come out and have a good game - a game we have know he can have. - I think a lot depends on who can knock down the three more consistently, then also if they try and run us of the 3 - who are they gonna have that can match up with Doke? - -I just think in the end we make a play or two more then then - -gonna be close I think throughout. - What we CAN'T afford to do is come out and fall behind quickly in the game and fall behind 6-8 points and try to play catch up the entire game - - that will not be good.

Then the last thing here is a question I'd like to hear your answer and that is: - -Who would be more critical for us - - between Doke & Devonte which one would hurt usa the most if they got in foul trouble? - -I say it would hurt us more if it were Devonte - as we have all seen when he is not in the game - -not the same - Doke would hurt but at least we have De-Sousa if he does,

Then ESPN is having a 4 hour special starting at one o'clock about the tourney CST - so that will help fill in the afternoon - -ROCK CHALK GUYS it's almost time - -LET'S do this
