Well, Governor Kelly just had her news conference and said she is making a executive order that goes into effect Monday - - - Schools will be delayed in opening at least till after Labor day weekend. & then after that the Schools will have mandates in the order.
They will have to see after that. - - -The White house yesterday they said declared Kansas a RED Zone - -we had 875 new cases over the weekend and 11 deaths. - - Part of being a Red Zone is COVID-19 with a positive rate of over 10 % - -Dr Norman is very dissapointed about how people reacted when restrictions was lifted. - -Hey said they knew we would spike after the 4th of July weekend but NOT this high - -we are not having sports this fall watch. - - - -this effects K-12 hold on to your butts

@jayballer73 Two other P5 schools have already made their decisions. That's going to impact the SEC more than the SEC impacts them so expect the SEC to announce a conference only schedule when they make their announcement.
There's also been plenty of talk of moving football to the spring this year so bet on that for P5 conferences before anything gets officially cancelled because again there is too much money at stake for P5 conferences to cancel revenue sports at this point.
not sure where I heard this I think this morning there were 3 AD'S from P-5 schools frowning on Spring movement and saying they were highly doubtful about ball being played. It was on one of the spots casts I listen to in the morning, comes off Station 104.9 here in Topeka

@jayballer73 FCS schools and lower divisions do not profit off of athletics at all so it's not a big deal to those schools to cancel because it actually saves money. This is why many FCS programs take games against P5 schools because those checks help subsidize a big chunk of their athletics budget.
This is also why the P5 schools at this point are moving to conference only instead of cancellation. The TV deals with ESPN, CBS, and Fox are far too valuable to give up for P5 schools. Football will get postponed to the spring before it gets cancelled because of the amount of money involved from TV networks.

Listening to National syndicated station on the radio as i sat here this morning. They were talking about this is a big week, a lot is going to be decided chances are about College football as this is the Week that the SEC is going to decide about this seasons football for the league.
They mentioned that if the SEC decides to Cancel their Season and have no football, chances are more then not you will see others follow suit , saying seeing as how the SEC is the most lucritive in College football, probably the top of College football as a league - -saying if they say they are not playing look for others to fall in line. If the Patriot league where the virus isn't really that much of a problem - -at least as much as many other places has already Cancelled , and now the if it happens Sec Cancels - - it's not looking good, I felt this before keep your eye on the SEC - -I think when it is all said and done - - WERE NOT HAVING A SEASON PERIOD

Announced this morning that in San Diego & Los Angles kids will not be returning to School when it starts up. 40 States are now showing rapid increases the COVID-19. Think this is just the beginning of where in the end there will be a lot of States that once again put the halt of kids returning to School. I had a Dr visit yesterday and was passing conversation and thought I'd ask - - - is it spiking as bad as they say it is? - -her response was for sure. Heard on the news like between the two hospitals here that between the self quarinteend and then positive staff cases they has 150employess who couldn't come in.

I don’t agree on the third party this year. I did 4 years ago (voted Johnson myself).
I don't mean that a 3rd party would win this year, but with the outright disgust so people have with both mainstream parties right now, this is the year for a 3rd party to push to get invited to the debates and increase their profile to start giving themselves a better chance in the future. If the Libertarian or Green Parties don't take advantage of the situation being laid out in front of them this year, they may never get a better chance to break into the main stream and become real players in state and national level elections.

that I'm sure is very true, however I still don't think with the roster that we have/will have that he is going to see many minutes at least next year. I guess the NCAA brought up the option of how the Season might play out or one option. Dearmon likes him more than Easters for sure. And I don’t think taking 2 QB’s this cycle is out of the question. Things are a bit sparse there right now: MacVittie, Kendrick, Daniels, Medley. None of whom have proven a thing (except Kendrick has proven he can’t play at this level.)

I see this as NCAA suicide if they go after us and let Duke off the hook. KU and Self are sitting comfortably in the role of victim and that is only enhanced with the contrast created from the Duke case.

I think the prosecution of Kansas could end up being the added pressure for the NCAA to pursue a Duke prosecution. Imagine if the NCAA nails us and turns right around and let's Duke off the hook? Kansas and Self have already shown they are not going to back down to the NCAA and will likely pursue a federal court remedy.
There is another way to think about this. That the Duke case will save KU because the NCAA won't want to punish Duke, so they have to let KU off the hook, too. I see this as a probable outcome. Lots of threats right now and in the end the NCAA makes some kind of verbal slap on the hands for both programs and life goes on.
sorry to disagree but there is no way KU comes out of this with a slap on the hands. I DO think this will end up in court with KU , and I don't blame us/KU at all. I think just the opposite about the case it'self though.
I think with us being a blue blood and marquee name that this newly formed organization I think they vert well might want to make Ku as an example. I mean be the perfect scenario for them to show they are willing to lay the hammer to EVERYONE and in their eyes going to have a very strict guideline.
With the way things turned out for Oklahoma State and having only ONE violation of the type that KU has FIVE should be very alarming and a hard wake up call it's not going to be pretty.
This thing is going to drag on by the time we go to Court and again I think that's where this ends. when the smoke clears things may very well shake out for KU but as far as this committee giving a slap on the hands ? - -I don't think there is any way that's happening , Hell I'm more likely to become the next Pope before a slap on the hands.
I could very easily see a year ban from post season , some kind of restrictions on recruiting for a time and Self being suspended for a period of time

Fall sports didn't get cut short. College Football is last fall sport to finish and that's in January. A few winter sports didn't finish their NCAA tournaments, but over 90% of winter sports athletes had completed their seasons so they weren't granted any extra eligibility.
Technicality - - Fall sports winter sport ok let me put in simpler terms Basketball got cut short - -doesn't matter whether if it was 1 - - 2 - -3 - -4 - - games it got cut short - -if you can't complete the season then they need to be given that year

Man I tell you some of our fans bite on the least things , they are in for a huge letdown I'm pretty sure , just can't understand why guys get worked up so easy. only to get butt hurt.
I guess Coach Jones off his twitter posted something with a 4 sec clip and bottom line dealing with Coleman. Now BAM people seem to think he is indicating that Coleman is coming , that's reading a lot into a 4 sec clip from twitter.
Although not sure why the Coaches want to tease fans like that. Just read where KU has offered a 6'4 SG Derrian Ford ranked # 38 on 247 sports.

Just read where KU has offered 6'4 combo Guard Jordan Riley out of Brentwood NY. He dad said that KU has been monitoring him for several months , telling him it's there for the taking all he had to do was take it.
Another kid that presently isn't top 150 , his Coach said that Coach's need to quit playing politics and take notice. - He says this is what an NBA player looks like. Maybe Norm finding another Devonte / Frank scenario - -possibly under rated / over looked.
