Well almost game time. - Love watching this - -not only our game but like the Kentucky/ Michigan State also.

Was just checking other boards and went to Kentucky's - -now not sure - -if it si that -- -Kentucky just despises Duke THAT MUCH or that they truly believe about KU.

Almost to the tee - -Kentucky fans thinking KU is a 2.5 underdog is insane. - They all seem to think that we will just not the Dog - S- - - out of Duke - -most of THEM are saying Duke will get drilled by us. - -I think their talking has a lot to do with there dislike for Duke - -lot of them talking 15 point win for KU -I myself am not buying that. -As much as I love KU basketball, I just am not seeing that big of win - -will we win ? - Good chance/great chance but by 15 - -na don't think so

Kentucky fans talking about how they don't know why there was such a shift in the betting line , wondering what happened. would stay away from betting on it - - KU opened as a 4.5 favorite then dropped to a 2.5 underdog - -Kentucky fans saying rat face probably hired the referees to make sure they bet us lol. - - Just found this amusing - -coming from Kentucky fans dislike for us.

I feel like gonna be a couple of good games- -I think we win it will be more like 7-8 point tops - - Kentucky fans saying would stay away from betting on our game how it's a trap. - - As far as their game goes - - think it could go either way -- Season finally here - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG

Have a question - -a serious question. Is there that big of difference in talent between KU/KSTATE ? - -serious question , not necessarily offensively , although our offensive line really was a wet spot on the floor today.

Shows where there is STILL ALOT of work to do - - Offensive AND Defensive lines

Some numbers that HAVE to change today for us to win this:

K-State rushing the ball averages 199.4 per game ( 35th ) in Nation - - - K State averages 4.64 per carry ( 59 th )- - in the Nation per play

KU allows 222 yards per game ( 123rd ) in the Nation & 4.88 per carry ( 104th ) - in the Nation that's really bad.

On the other side of the ball - -K-State not good either,

K-State allowing 181.9 per game ( 89th ) - -& allowing 5.6 yds per carry ( 125th ) in the Nation

K-State averAages right now controlling the ball at 34 minutes per game -- THAT CAN NOT HAPPEN

So I'm guessing Dom Williams is done?

Just wanted to holler here early. - -That time has finally arrived , I think today will really tell just exactly how much we have taken steps forward. - -I mean true I'm not denying we have definitely taken steps - -BUT today a win would put us on yet another level A win today would be yet another very legit win, K- State is a very solid team.

As much as I am proud of the guys , this thing could very easily go two ways. One we can come out and be competitive as hell -let these guys see they are in a mans game a all out war - -OR we can come out flat , start slow like we have had happen in the past , fall behind by multiple score and then just get steam rolled. - -I vote for the 1st.

K-State scares me to the extent as where your possessions are going to be more limited then most. - -They want to grind it out - run , run , run the ball which as you know we suck against. I'm afraid they go on 2-3 of those dam long grind it in your face 7-8 minute drives with Thompson using that dam QB draw - -and those jet sweeps then all of a sudden throw a little flare that goes huge for them.

They were talking on the ocal sports broadcast had a K-State guy and was asking him they the sports host talking saying they though K-State could have success by throwing on KU - -how KU'S defense sucked - -well K-state defense isn't like some brick wall either - -I mean you rank 110th giving up yardage over 5 plus per play don't think you should be thumping your chest.

Carter has to come out ready - - a lot rides on him - he has got to be on/ready. - -Line has to create some holes for Pooka - - -Carter has to hit some passes keep them honest from stuffing the block. - - Having said all this I Love my JayHawks BUT I am really worried about their run. - -I think score goes something like 34-27 K-state - -dam hope I'm wrong. - -what you think guys? - -let me hear your input. - - -

I’ve seen a major uptick in my KSU friends poking at KU and Les being a bit weird. Les is weird, no doubt about it. But my lord he can coach. I would run through a wall for that dude, because he really cares about his team and will push his team. Dearmon is the same way. The one main concern right now that I see and not new. - - Doke's free throw shooting is going to cost us. - -Some where down the line, unless he can figure out a way to do better , he is basically taking himself out of the game in a hotly contested contest.

You know -- -and I know - - we all know if it's late in a game/crunch time Doke is in -- Coach is gonna have to yank him out or it is going to be classic hack Shaq. - -They made the statement that in practice he is hitting in the 60's close to 70 % - -well news flash these won't be practice. - Mercy I hope somehow this guy can get this figured out - They say well it's in his head - -well it's a new year,- - so should be new approach --

Anyways seen some things looks nice - -Braun looks like he is going to be helpful, - - more then I thought for this year - - -Silvio still looks a little rusty, got work to do on his shot - -BUT now it get's real.

Just got through watching the last episode in the series - - A Night to remember. - I'm so glad that did this series , taking you behind the scenes - -scenes from the locker room and such.

I'm tellin you guys , I'm so dead serious - there is something bout this guy - -I swear makes you wonder he is so connected with our players - -makes you feel like MAN I'd go to battle with this guy ANYTIME ANYWHERE - -unbelieveable way with the players - -you can just see it. - These guys actually have that connection with the Coach ya know?- -you know what I mean ?- - -Hell it even gets me so stoked - -fired up - ready for the next one.

Our new OC - -mercy is this guy a spark plug or what - -JUMPING - - GEE - - HOSSA - - -FATS - - -the guy is stoked - -I love to see a staff that's busting their ass like that for these guys - -trying to get the players fired up - -these Coach's believe - they really believe in our boys - -you can just see the fire in their gut.

they have been talking on the local sports - that getting close to a sellout. - -Doesn't necessarily mean that's a good thing for the home crowd - -we need to get those tickets bought

We have to keep them behind the chains. One of my major concerns is they torched OU by getting backs to the edge. We haven't been particularly good about sprinting to the football and making the tackle on the perimeter. If we can contain their running game (I think two of their backs are banged up) and make Thompson throw it from the pocket we've got a good shot.

On offense, have to be able to run and throw. I wouldn't mind taking a few shots early if we get a favorable matchup. We really need to avoid the slow starts we've had pretty consistently to keep the crowd in it and avoid KSU shortening the game. We need to hit some explosive plays to loosen up the box for Pooka. He's not going to be great running into a wall every down. Their DL is the strength of their defense so we won't have much of a chance if we keep running into a stacked box.

Ya, even when we have made penetration - -we haven't finished, some poor tackling , arm tackles and not wrapping up -- love the way how aggressive a couple of the guys hit - - Mike Lee - - Potter already - -but just HAVE to finish. - -K-State does love to get to the edge , seems like pretty decent speed , or getting blockers out in front.

Again a HUGE thing is keeping a spy on Thompson - -really frustrating for me to see him keep running this - -wondering why the hell people don't seem to stop that - -he can kill ya for sure with that , and seems to love running that.

One thing I've noticed with Pooka lately seems like he spends to much time dancing around in the back field - -seems like he is making a habit of reversing direction - -other teams are catching onto that and staying home - -getting thrown for bigger losses. - Think he just needs to take the chance hit it and go - -you get met at the line - -then you get met at the line - -but you dance around you lose key yardage in important yard and down - can really put you behind - -down and yardage. - -The O-Line HAS GOT TO do better of holding the block and open the hole

Yes we will need to spy him all game long, which worries me because we have struggled versus running QBs for 30 years. Going back and watching the Texas tape, seeing how Sam killed us on 3rd and long with his feet will hopefully get us a better idea of hope to contain. We should be able to move the ball as Baylor and OU both put up big numbers on this KSU Defense, OU just had zero help defensively. agree on everything you said. - -like you said for me is the 3rd down - it is a MUST to be able to get off the filed - -not letting them convert time after time after time. - - Our run defense has really lacked this year. - -Skyler can just kill us if we allow him to get out - -and we can just not ignore the grad transfer either - - pretty good back he has shown.

I was pretty close last week on the score -- off 3 points for each side - - I had 34-31 - - this week - - -sa much as I hate to say - -I hope I'm dead wrong but just kind of feel these fools ( K-State will find a way ) - -like 41-34 - -might be a little high - -mercy hope I'm wrong - -our run defense just scares me

Well this might help get even a little more fired up for Saturday. - -No reason why we shouldn't be able to move the ball unless we just miss the mojo boat.

K-State on defense is giving up 6.39 yards per play - -that's figures out to 110th in the Nation

Put it in perspective - - Texas averages giving up 6.42 per play - -which averages out to 112th in the Nation.

Now to water this down a little - - - if you have ever watched K-State they like to go on those LONG boring drives eating the clock. - -We have just got to make key plays - - we have got to get off the field on 3rd down situations.

It's a must to have a spy on Thompson - -they love that little QB sprint draw - -and then the Grad transfer - -on almost like a jet sweep getting on the edge - -two VERY BIG plays,

They grind the clock and limit opposition possessions - - - D has gotta stand up act like you got a pair -- D-Line has got to get penetration , can't let Thompson stand back and eat his packed lunch and pick you apart - - - got to get pressure - - TFL'S - - lets do this -- ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

A bowl game is a long shot at this point needing at least one win over a ranked team and at least one road win.

But KU will have a shot at a bowl game for at least three more weeks. When's the last time KU football was into November with a shot at a bowl?

And this can only help recruiting. If you are looking around, KU is definitely a school to consider right now.

The lack of depth is hurting our special teams, but we have more athletes on the way. That will help steady the ship on special teams, and help us deal with injuries and defections.

If we get a little more athletic on defense, this team has a shot at going to a bowl next year, and contending for an 8 or 9 win season by 2022.

What i saw on TV didn't look like a decent crowd, it looked like a crappy 1980's (when I attended) crowd. Add in Herbert quitting on his team and several injuries. It would hard to expect much more. We only have 1 embarrassing loss to TCU so far. We really only had 3 embarrassing losses last year.
