@justanotherfan Agreed, I enjoy watching the playoffs but that’s about it. I feel the same way with the MLB. Bunch of guys half assing it til the final month of the regular. I’d be all in on shortening both seasons. I heard the MLB was much better before the strike in the 80s.

Dylans • Apr 29, 2020 09:09 PM

What the hell happened? Did I miss some action?

Strong Third Party 2020 • Apr 29, 2020 08:55 PM

I’d vote for him before I’d vote for the other two clowns. If you really want to see change, let’s get the two party system outta here. I encourage everyone to vote for actual change, when is the last time a Democrat or Republican actually changed a darn thing in this country for the better?

Last Dance • Apr 29, 2020 08:04 PM

@justanotherfan I agree and there is some good stuff to come of it. But the flopping, guys just standing on defense and minimal contact. They are all friends which is cool but there is very little in terms of heated battles these days. Little suspense, the league is a snooze fest compared to the 80s and 90s. That doesn’t mean I think they should fight but at least go toe to toe on both ends of the court.

Global Pandemic of Boredom • Apr 29, 2020 03:34 PM

@wissox congratulations to your daughter. The tiger king is one of the most ridiculous shows ever but I couldn’t stop watching, maybe it’s because it’s only 3.5 hours from my house lol.

Colquitt released • Apr 29, 2020 01:48 AM

He wasn’t near as effective the past few seasons. Stupid to spend 2 million on a punter to get used twice a game. Glad he was able to get a ring and was no doubt a great in his prime.

Last Dance • Apr 28, 2020 02:17 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 I agree Chicago struggled with dominate bigs. Like I said we could go back and forth all day with what ifs or what would’ve happened. A fun conversation thanks guys.

Last Dance • Apr 27, 2020 08:56 PM

@justanotherfan that’s fair but an old Jason Terry also shut down for a finals once apon a time.

Last Dance • Apr 27, 2020 08:55 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 Jordan didn’t have Rodman in 95 and he only played the last few months of the season after baseball went on strike. Orlando won the series 4-2 but 3 of those victories were by a combined 18 points. That was a competitive series and Jordan wasn’t as good right when he came back.

Last Dance • Apr 27, 2020 07:03 PM

On a side note, I’d pay money to see prime Rodman vs LeBron. I think Rodman would have him crying on the bench lol.

Last Dance • Apr 27, 2020 07:01 PM

@justanotherfan You bring up some valid points and it’s really anyone’s guess what would’ve happened. Scottie was around thru 98 on that crappy contract and probably wouldnt have left MJ with how close they were. By the end of the first 3 peat, they had some key role players that stayed for the second like Kerr, Pippen and Paxson. Rodman wasn’t happy in SA, he would’ve came earlier if the opportunity was there. They may have won 4 or 5 and fizzled out or been bitten by the injury bug.

Last Dance • Apr 27, 2020 05:38 AM

Crazy to think that the Bulls really came close to winning a few more titles in the 90s. Obviously anything can happen with what ifs. But man if Pippen is healthy in the 1990 eastern conference finals, the Bulls win it and the title with ease against Portland. Then MJs dad getting murdered and him playing baseball for 18 months. A good Magic team knocked them out in the 95 eastern conference finals but people forget MJ didn’t come back til the middle of March of that season. I still think their 6 of 8 is the best dynasty in modern sports (Celtics won 11 of 15 and 8 in a row in the 50s and 60s). That’s before you consider they could’ve brought back most of the 98 team. I really miss the NBA from the 80s and 90s. Teams played defense and stars didn’t take off several games for rest. The mental and physical toughness of the game is light years ahead of the touch fouls and circus today.

Hakeem Adeniji drafted • Apr 26, 2020 05:42 AM

@Texas-Hawk-10 I would get that as well, he is undersized at this level but has great run blocking capabilities. I’d bet he ends up on the practice squad. Either way congrats to Hakeem!

Hakeem Adeniji drafted • Apr 26, 2020 05:40 AM

@FarmerJayhawk ends their streak of 26 years with a player drafted.

Global Pandemic of Boredom • Apr 26, 2020 01:44 AM

We started a garden, took mulch outta the the flower beds and put in rock and put together a pool for my son lol. The last dance is a good documentary on Jordan’s last team but only 2 episodes have been released.

Mitch • Apr 22, 2020 02:18 AM

@BShark I think people are a little over the top about Mitch’s shot blocking ability. Yes he’s had a few good games in that department but I’m nearly a 100 games he averages almost right at 1 BPG. Let’s not make him out to be Withey reincarnated.

2020: HOLD MAH BEER • Apr 21, 2020 03:16 AM

Interesting, scary if true because who know what crazy SOB is waiting in the wings. As @FarmerJayhawk too early to know.

Can Bryce Thompson shoot? • Apr 20, 2020 05:30 AM

Bryce has good shooting ability, couple that with Braun, Garrett (shot the 3 better than Dotson at 33% this past year) and Ochai all improving that aspect. We will be a much better shooting team. We will enjoy Dave making FTs and jumpers. We will greatly miss Doke being able to get buckets at will.

Mitch • Apr 20, 2020 02:42 AM

It will be interesting to see what Mitch has improved in his game. I think it’s a bad comparison to put him in with guys like Withey and Marcus who were taller and more athletic. Lucas wasn’t a great athlete and played hard so there’s that but Mitch is also much smaller than him (girth and height). The man Mitch should model his game after (offensively) is setting on the KU bench. People claimed he had unlimited Eligibility, Perry Ellis is that man. Both are similar size and builds. Perry is a little bit quicker but having a 4 that can hit a jumper from 15+ foot is huge in today’s game. Perry was never going to go body to body with the trees but his jumper pulled guys out and a quick spin move got him to the lane a lot. I’ve always said Mitch could be a poor mans Ellis. Mitch's playing time probably has as much to do with Silvio as it does himself. Self likes his 8 man rotations. Assuming he sticks with a four guard line up, hard to imagine the second big off the bench averaging double digit minutes.

Differentiating fact from opinion on COVID-19 • Apr 19, 2020 05:22 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 Yep that’s what our church is doing, not that complicated in 2020 to stream live via Facebook or YouTube.

Differentiating fact from opinion on COVID-19 • Apr 19, 2020 02:48 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 the amount of people that don’t even go to church complaining about it is astronomical.

Unfinished Business • Apr 17, 2020 01:35 AM

@nwhawkfan do you have any credible sources to this claim?? Sounds a little suspicious. 🤣🤣

Differentiating fact from opinion on COVID-19 • Apr 17, 2020 01:32 AM

@BShark I’m just sitting here having a cold beer and a good laugh. This site is half my entertainment right now.

The democratic nominee • Apr 16, 2020 02:26 AM

@DoubleDD @approxinfinity @DanR We have to be able to see it from the other side without insulting and fighting each other. There is truth to both sides. Have the Dems labeled virtually everything Trump has done including his initial China travel ban racist? Yes, without question. Has Trump back tracked and gave circular reasoning? Yes, without question.

The democratic nominee • Apr 15, 2020 09:03 PM

@justanotherfan exactly how I see it my friend.

@benshawks08 exactly maybe they are running out of stories lol

The democratic nominee • Apr 15, 2020 05:31 PM

@BShark I love how this was breaking news yesterday. You mean a Democrat endorses his former running mate and friend whom is also a Democrat, first I’ve heard of it.

The democratic nominee • Apr 15, 2020 05:30 PM

@benshawks08 also good points my friend

The democratic nominee • Apr 15, 2020 12:35 AM

@justanotherfan Well said, could go towards most in politics.

The democratic nominee • Apr 14, 2020 05:27 AM

@approxinfinity it will be interesting to see how it effects his chances in November for sure.

The democratic nominee • Apr 14, 2020 04:42 AM

@approxinfinity I usually wouldn’t defend Trump in any manor but Dr. Fauci himself wasn’t too worried about the virus in January. I think Trump is trying not to scare people at this point. I just wish he carried himself more professionally, drives me nuts. To me it doesn’t matter if he’s re-elected, it’s always the less of evils and which corporations are funneling in the cash to said candidate.

Elite 8 is here! • Apr 13, 2020 06:18 PM

Tough choices here, my god how can anyone choose between Wilt and JoJo or any of the others?

Dotson or Doke or both? • Apr 13, 2020 06:14 PM

Hopefully it works out for Dot, sad he didn’t get a chance to win several awards both individually and as a team mate this March.

Dotson or Doke or both? • Apr 13, 2020 02:08 AM

@FarmerJayhawk that’s his Achilles, not a great passer or shooter. If he gets picked in the first round he atleast won’t be paid like a G leaguer.

Wedding Questions • Apr 13, 2020 01:51 AM

I think you should proceed like it will happen. I would think by July we will be off of the stay at home order. Hand sanitizer is a good idea, maybe have at a place where people can spread out.

Life after flattening? • Apr 12, 2020 06:15 PM

@FarmerJayhawk one of hundreds of thousands of issues with the government right now. Most of the red tape is to insure they made more money by preforming the test themselves.

Entertainment • Apr 12, 2020 05:21 PM

@nuleafjhawk I’ve seen some reruns of a those, a little before my time. But they are pretty dang good.

Entertainment • Apr 12, 2020 03:42 PM

@approxinfinity I’m glad they are trying, I haven’t watched since the 90s besides here or there. I just don’t find most the people on there funny, the Davidson kid annoys the heck outta me. It was gold with Chris Farley, Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell and Chris Rock.

Dotson or Doke or both? • Apr 12, 2020 07:07 AM

@FarmerJayhawk I agree, but their is always a catch 22. I believe this years class is one of the weakest in memory. With NBA guaranteeing a 3 year contract with a first round selection, I can’t fault him if he can go in the first. I personally don’t see him increasing his stock because of his size. Frank Mason, Sherron Collins, Devonte Graham and guys like Marcus Paige, heck even Jacob Pullen all shot the ball better from distance (all smaller guards) and we’re as good or better depending on whom you ask. They all are second rounders or undrafted. If next years class is better, hard to see him moving up any. Doesn’t mean he can’t make it, Im shocked Van Vleet from WSU has had his success. You have to go to a good organization in the league right now to succeed in most cases.

The myths of NBA lore • Apr 12, 2020 06:57 AM

@wissox Wilt was just born too soon and left this world way too soon. Imagine what records he would hold at KU and in the NCAA if freshman were able to play and they had shot clock. Watching YouTube videos of Wilt, he would’ve dominated in any era. There is a list of about 3 guys with his size and athleticism in NBA history. I consider Wilt the GOAT and always will.

Life after flattening? • Apr 12, 2020 06:50 AM

@DoubleDD Yes, I work for a small business that took this loan. It will be forgiven but we have to pay interest and it’s only to pay employees for 10 weeks. I’ve been using mine( 2 weeks in) with my daughters heart condition but if things aren’t better in that 10 weeks, we will half to lay off most of our employees with business being slow. Then the trouble becomes if we are making enough money to pay our loan for our building and some equipment we have yet to pay off. Sad to think that most mom and pop shops won’t survive. Companies like wal mart are licking their chops. @BShark can anyone explain why tests are so crappy and scarce but they tested a damn tiger for it? Seems like a waste of resources at a bare minimum.

Life after flattening? • Apr 12, 2020 02:20 AM

It sounds like this thing could end up being seasonal like the flu. I’ve also read that they don’t think it will survive the high temperatures of summer in most states. The issue right now is it is crippling the country and if it goes on for a few more months. There won’t be very many small businesses and several big businesses will be bankrupt as well. The United States postal service has announced they can only survive until September as of today. Jobs will be beyond scarce and the unemployment rate will be more than double it has ever been. That’s before we get into the likely hood that millions will starve to death if it continues. I’m not sure if we should give it til the end of the month and only quarantine high risk folks or what, but it’s not good and people will go crazy before to long.

NOA response from KU discussion • Apr 11, 2020 05:28 AM

Just finished watching the scheme on HBO, the FBI’s case is really quite laughable. They pretty much dropped the hammer on Dawkins because they needed to on someone. Definitely some eye opening stuff. Like a wire tap Sean Miller saying Ayton is costing him 10k a month. It pretty much confirmed what I think is happening. NIKE is paying the NCAA hundreds of millions or more to not look into NIKE’s main schools. Will Wade also looks super guilty. Wasn’t really anything on KU, UK, UNC or Dook in it. I’m no law professor but having a head coach on tape saying stuff like that but the NCAA doing nothing sounds like discrimination by definition.
