@dylans we should start a new one today. I haven’t updated my numbers but a couple of years ago we had won 91% of the games VS KSU since 1990 in basketball. They have won a couple since then so it probably like 87% or something but I’ve always called it the most one sided rivalry in all of sports.

@justanotherfan some of us should probably take a lesson on that. Glad to see you post man.

@approxinfinity I think with each passing decade this has gotten worse. I think it has a ton of factors. First off parents don’t get a chance to raise their kids as much because both parents are working these days. When my parents grew it was odd to see such a thing now with the cost of living it’s the opposite. I’m friends with thousands of people on Facebook I believe 3 have stay at home spouses. This also the reason TV sets and electronic devices are used to raise kids because parents are tired. I don’t see any kids at the park anymore when I drive by, 20 years ago we were playing football and basketball at the park. Sometimes in the snow and rain.

I think there is a huge difference in people born in the 80s and early 90s then kids born after. I’ve worked 3 places most my professional career and we have hired younger kids age 16-24 for several odd jobs. Every single one hasn’t lasted and has zero work ethic, literally everyone (not saying hard working ones don’t exist). They don’t want to climb the ladder, they want to start at the top. They don’t want to sweat or go hard to earn anything. They spend half their days on cell phones. When I was 22 I was working 2 jobs most the time and bought a house. I worked my tail of to have a decent life. The American dream right now has changed from hard work pays off . They don’t want to work hard, they don’t want to build stuff they just want money to buy stuff.

I do think most people are good but I think people are too political these days and it’s causing separation. I have zero idea what political party my parents or grandparents voted with. I don’t remember them fussing about who was in office. Back in the day people didn’t identify with who they voted for 4 years. Now people ride whomever they voted for coattails and that said person can do no wrong. I’d go back to the 80s and 90s to raise my kids if I could.

I will also add that I think schools are teaching kids to think a certain way. They are taught one thing and it’s the only way. New articles come out daily about teachers saying and teaching negative stuff about Trump. It’s perfectly fine to be against him, I don’t blame anyone that is. But their is zero reason to push your political agenda on grade school level students and those who do should be fired immediately. I honestly don’t think it should be pushed at the college unless it’s a politics class. I just had a friend that has sent 4 children to KU and his eldest just transferred because he got tired of hearing political BS in his classes and rhetoric that republicans and anyone that’s not a democrat
is evil. I have no idea if it’s true but I’ve heard rumors of such for years. Zero place for that IMO, let them think for themselves.

@BShark yep, once they realize they don’t have to have those parents or other bad influences lives. It opens a door, and they as you said believe no one cares. I told myself when I was about 8 years old that my kids would never be in the position I was in and they won’t.

@BShark Yes, I agree, I’ve had younger inner city kids as a foster parent and they are great. Some them had major issues but I worked with them. Most of them need to be taught how to act and right from wrong. They need loved, if your parents don’t care if you go to jail or skip school. Why should you? Most them don’t have role models or even parents around in general.I grew up poor in broken homes. We can break cycle together, I’ll never give up on helping kids.

@BShark *the problem isn’t all the people there. There are without question people there that are a problem. Go rent a house or an apartment for a few months and let me know how it goes. That’s part of where he was wrong, there plenty of both bad and good people in the inner cities.

@jayballer73 I hope they figure out this virus for sure but more than 3 times that many people have died from the Flu this year.

@FarmerJayhawk I’ve yet to read or hear anything about about Self saying he would be back after Saturday. Yes KU accepted the punishment, but that’s all I’ve heard on the matter.

I definitely think the board has thinned out a little with the NCAA sanctions. I really enjoyed talking with @justanotherfan, he is very intelligent. @HighEliteMajor got some raft and I think he may have gone a few steps too far but he did also have some fair points. The trouble is 99% of the people that comment on stuff like that avoid the inner cities like the plague and have never lived there. I have and some of what he say is a problem. Also being a foster I have heard stats in training that back up a lot of what he said. I also consider HEM a intelligent person. I miss @jaybate-1-0 from 5-6 years ago but not the last few if I’m honest. His originals were great back in the day but wasn’t a fan of his latest stuff. That being said I hope he returns.

This pissed me off to be honest. Our local sports radio talked about it today and how it could vacated. I really think that’s a long shot at best. Silvio has already served his suspension for one season, tho Wiseman took 6 times as much for 12 games. I’m sure how you could vacate anything but the second half of 2018 for him playing. Billy Preston played zero minutes so it probably doesn’t do squat in terms of vacating. They could give us a postseason ban but they don’t do it retro spec. Michigan didn’t even every year between the Fab 5 and 1996 vacated, the the 2 Chris Weber years.

@FarmerJayhawk Right what I’m saying is that Bill Self hasn’t reinstated him from his indefinite suspension. That could end at the same time as the B12’s suspension but Self hasn’t indicated that to this point. Meaning Self could sit him out longer. Also Silvio could sit behind the KU bench at home games but doesn’t because he doesn’t want to be a distraction.

@Texas-Hawk-10 spot on buddy, I’m not gonna play the blame game on the first game at this point. But I’ve seen veteran officials push a guy back from standing over someone and T’ing them up instantly. The officials hopefully are prepped by the conference to call a fair but tight game and I’d bet that’s the case. As mentioned above, I wouldn’t be shocked to see the KSU players foul hard and try to instigate a brawl. Their Season is their worst in 20 years and over before this game even tips. Also I’d like to add that Self has not reinstated Silvio to this point, I bet it comes before the B12 tournament. I think it’s good he won’t be there but I bet the Love guy will be on KSUs bench or right behind it Saturday.

@dylans I really hope they are able to keep both players, it will be interesting to see if they wait til after the season starts to offer Mahomes a contract. I’m hoping he wants to continue winning and doesn’t sign a max deal. He seems smart enough to do so. LeBron and Brady had big endorsements that helped. Mahomes already has State Farm, Adidas, Hunts, Amazon and Head & Shoulders. I think they need to bulk up the offensive line first and foremost, then secondary and get some linebackers. Would be tough to do all but if they resign most of the current guys and do 2 of 3. They have a good shot at a repeat baring injuries.

Baylor hammered KSUCK to no surprise, was up 50-24 at the half. Final was 85-66 but wasn’t that close.

I find it interesting that someone gave Baylor 2 first places votes. I suppose that’s somewhat fair with us splitting but wouldn’t expect it right after we beat them.

Doke’s numbers over the last 4 games- 17.5 PPG, 14.7 rebounds and 3 blocks. Big fella is eating my friends, KU I believe is now 28-1 when Doke scores 15 or more.
