Having doke out there is poor excuse for Dedric, he had several good games with him. He just isn't strong enough to be a consistent scorer against good teams.

@Texas-Hawk-10 Yep, West Virginia really seems like a crap place to be, I was shocked when we added them. Tiny media market, academics are at the bottom of the conference and they're really was no gain, especially when Louisville wanted in at that time. I personally dont think it matters with the B12, they are most likely gone when the current media contract is up. Hopefully we end up in the B10 along with ISU and KSU. If that happens, it could be the premier basketball league.
@dylans Houston has been ahead of KU for quite some time IMO. They've made a bowl game 7 of the last 8 seasons. Art Briles, Kevin Sumlin and Tom Herman have all coached there in the last decade before getting big jobs. The B12 had a chance to get them but didn't a few years back.
Reports are coming in that Dana Holgorsen will leave West Virginia and head south to Houston after Major Applewhite was relieved of his duties. Supposedly he will sign a 5 year 20 million dollar contract, making him the highest paid non power 5 coach. It's an interesting move and another bad look for the conference days after OU laid an egg against Alabama. I personally think it was time, he hasnt done much since joining the B12 and WV didnt seem to interested in paying him more.
@mayjay @Texas-Hawk-10 If I wanted to watch someone struggle to score for 90 minutes, I'd take my friends to the bar lol. Baseball is almost as bad when a pitchers duel. I stopped playing baseball after my freshman year tho I lettered in it. I played all 3 positions in the field and had multiple games where zero balls came my way. It was a complete waste of time IMO.
This hurts the B12 going forward, they probably wont get a team in for a few seasons now. But who know Notre Dame has been stomped twice now.

Really good half there outside of giving up too many offensive rebounds. Ball movement is good, we aren't relying on one or two guys to score every point. Should be a fun second half to just go play
Still not liking these NET rankings. We were up to #4 before last Saturdays loss @ ASU. Now we currently sit at number 13, tho it's our only loss, ASU is ranked 31st in NET and I haven't seen a SOS that ranks us lower than 8th. Then I see a two loss Wisconsin team at number 4 that's has SOS in the mid 40s and doesn't have the big wins we do. Maybe it puts too much on margin of victory. I just dont see how KU shouldn't be considered a top 10 team.

@Texas-Hawk-10 Honestly it sounds like a little bit of "My baby is the best and I'm too proud" to me. It's not like he had tons of D1 offers, I believe KU was the only power 5 team with him on their radar. Jay has decent size but I'm not sure he's been on the field to this point. I've heard that there is another little brother besides Jax, that supposedly the best of the bunch.
My thought is with him being undersized, playing at a seldom used position and us only having 15 scholarships, maybe we just couldn't take him.
This is a team problem for sure, several guys aren't playing as they are capable. Garrett is an issue on offense, he didn't do terrible against ASU because he got to the lane, drew fouls and made the Fts. But he has to start driving consistently and finishing, the dude does great defensively and has his hands on a ton of good plays. Dedric has been fabulous on the offensive end as of late, hes starting to shoot it at a high percentage instead of getting half of his shots swatted back into his face but he isn't a very good defender and lets up his fair share of buckets on that end. With his athletic ability it prob doesn't get any better for him at this stage of his career. Dotson is one guy thats tough to find a whole lot to complain about for me outside of getting sped up and committing some avoidable turnovers like the pass that went thru his hands late against ASU. Overall I really like his game for a true freshman out there leading us on offense. Grimes has been very frustrating to watch outside of the MSU game. He doesn't seem to have any hustle in him whatsoever, he struggles guarding anyone and against ASU he took numerous crappy shots. I like that he was more aggressive and maybe thats the first step or maybe it was all the stouts there. The question is will he play hard when there isn't several scouts there? Vick just needs to be more consistent and pride himself more on defense. He too had some silly shots vs ASU but we have also seen him hit some really tough ones when he's on, maybe he needs to limit those when he isn't hot. Moore has to prove his worth on the offensive end. He is a liability in every other aspect of the game, we need him to come in and hit some open shots. Outside of one game that has not happened and he hasn't been an addition off the bench. Mitch just needs to keep being Mitch but try to limit his boneheaded plays. KJ has an odd role to me, you really never know what hes gonna do but he seems to play hard and thats all you can ask out of a guy thats prob the 8th or 9th man in the rotation. Doke just needs to get healthy, continue to improve his FTs, Guard without fouling and rebound to his size.
@FarmerJayhawk I was able to speak to one of my inside sources to KU this week with the holiday. He told me Jax was offered to be a preferred walk-on and was not happy. I was told the Dineens dad was escorted out of the football complex after a heated exchange with Les Miles.

Personally I think it was a missed call that went KUs way, the trouble is I stopped counting a 15 bad calls that went ASUs way. We still should’ve won, we settled for some silly shots late and Grimes and Vick took way to many guarded jump shots. This teams defense isn’t respectable at this point and will struggle to get stops when needed, none of guards are able to keep in front of their man. Dotson was decent but had five turnovers, I think this game could be a huge learning point for the young fella.
@JayHawkFanToo I’ve never been a rankings matter guy and the B12 has probably been the best league maybe 2 years since its inception. If ranking had a ton accuracy their wouldn’t be very many upsets. We could argue about it all day I recon, I just dont see the B12 going any place in March.

I commented how their bench really hurt us last year and it did the same again tonight. Our bench had 5 point and theirs 26. Charlie Moore is just a complete waste of space if he’s no hitting 3s, he has not net gain in every other aspect of the game.
I’m kinda upset Grimes only seems to play hard when scouts are in town. He and Vick must have a personal contest on who could throw up the most ridiculous shots. I love how Walton was complaining about that travel, which it clearly was by the way and then didn’t have the balls to says jack about a weak carry on Dedric. Maybe we just shouldn’t play pac12 teams anymore lol. I not surprised we lost just disappointed to lead for over 37 minutes and give it away.
KU will easily finish in the top half of the B12, the conference looks like garbage outside of 3 teams. I’d bet on Tech ending the streak this season if I was a betting man but no way we finish worse than 3rd.
We played pretty well for the first road game against a good team. We just didn’t make shots down the stretch. The Garrett tie up was a huge call at that time and the Dotson over and back where it didn’t look like he even touched it and if he did it was second and out on them. Why that was not reviewed is head scratching. I don’t think the officiating was bad in the second half outside of a few calls but the first half was as bad as I have ever seen. I wouldn’t pull a KSU and say it was all on the refs, we had too many quick silly shots and turnovers. Good teaching point for the guys and like I said it really means nothing in the grand scheme of things. We are the best team in the country anyways someone else can have number 1 til April for all I care.
