Wow 17 fouls in the first half for KU, thatâs insane.
I guess itâs nice to be up 14 and I honestly donât feel we played all that spectacular
Dedric needs to slow down a bit, pressing too hard offensively 2 for 10 from the floor.
Only reason this ainât a massacre is the friendly whistles for MSU
Good thing we are deep, I hate this touch fouls underneath on their end yet Doke has 2 guys all over him with no call.
Wow that looked obvious off of MSU lol. Ball movement isnât great
@DanR HAHA nice. I'm really interested to see how he does tonight. I do agree he looks a little over weight but most of his highlights that I've seen feature him dunking guys that are shorter than him. Haven't seen any with crazy handles or a good looking stroke. He looks athletic forsure but at this level you got be able to do more than dunk at 6'7 to be effective IMO.
I will guard Ward and shut him down!!!
@Woodrow Not surprising that he isn't interested anymore. It's really hard to believe that anyone would pick Weis or Beaty over him. Hopefully Long at least uses common sense unlike Zenger. Supposedly when KU hired Gill, Harbaugh and Tuberville were both highly interested in the job.
@jayballer73 LMAO Saban wouldn't leave Bama for Texas and a $10 million a year contract a few years back, then it would take about $50 million a year to get him at KSU.
If Snyder announces his retirement this week, they win this game going away.
@Kcmatt7 Ya I've live about an hour north of Wichita and a 3 from KC so it's a little easier for me to go down there. I would like to check out the power and light district someday. We were actually up in KC in August but the College hall of fame was closed the 2 days were there and I had my whole family so I couldn't go too crazy lol.
@Kcmatt7 Sounds like a good time. I was able to make it down to Wichita for the opening rounds of the NCAA tournament. You couldn't have beer inside but outside KU had basically one huge party with Food trucks and a prep rally. I'd highly recommend going if you are able, I'm ready for the next time they are in Wichita 2021 I believe.
@KirkIsMyHinrich Doke struggles with smaller quicker guys knocking the ball away from him. Itâs been one of my biggest pet peeves of the Self era, why he doesnât teach his bigs not to bring the down and allow the defense to recover is flatout mind boggling. Roy Williams always had guys that would go straight up and thatâs how you are most effective in the post. We saw against repeatedly against Emporia State resulting in 6 turnovers for Doke in just 17 minutes. Go straight up with it big fella and dunk it right on their heads lol.
@FarmerJayhawk I highly doubt they fire Snyder before the KU game, it maybe a similar deal as to Beatys where he announces heâs retiring at the end of the season. Iâm also not here any of this chatter from some KSU guys ik. Will be interesting to see what happens.
@jayballer73 I don't believe the athletic department or the fans want Sean as the coach is the problem. He is the Special teams Coordinator. They pretty much lost to TCU and Baylor because of simple errors on special teams. Hard to go to bat for a guy that can't even run the special team side of things.
Maybe rival isn't the right word but still changing HC positions within the conference isn't seen too often.
@BShark You would think if he was really interested in the OU job he'd go outside of the B12 conference so he wouldn't be jumping to a rival school. That and lets be honest he could do better than KSU if the right job opens up in the next year or two.
Confirmed from HCBS, Freshman Ochai Agbaji will redshirt this season.
@BShark Supposedly Littrels agent was in Methattan last week. Also heard that he is waiting on Riley @ OU to make the NFL jump in the next few years before going elsewhere. I still question if KSU has the guts to stand up to Snyder. There is always a ton of rumors floating around on boards this time of year, its tough to know what all is fact and fiction.
@justanotherfan You bring up some some fair points for sure. Lets hope the pros out weight the cons for most of the higher profile candidates. I think the program can gain a fair amount interest from fans if the team is competitive. I remember going to games in 08 and 09 where the stadium was not only full but there were thousands of people in lawn chairs on the hill. Most people I know that go to KSU games spend the second half drinking in the parking lot rather than back in the stadium. I think Football and Baseball in general are struggling to keep fan interest high compared to BB because the games take so much longer to play. I can drive up to Lawrence for a BB and only be gone half a day, if its football its pretty much a whole day. I think Kansas High school football is getting better personally but yes I'd say there are only a hand full of guys that have D1 capability early in there College careers. As you said KSU in a down slide and Mizzou as well hasn't been great recently. So if we get a high profile coach I think it bodes well to get a kid like Bledsoe that went to OU or a Blake Bell.
@Texas-Hawk-10 Agreed, just saying several places have him on the hot seat.
A lot of people have stated that the program is incapable of landing a high profile coach. As in Les Miles or Dave Doren, two guys that are at the top of my wish list for Christmas to land at KU.
-
Pooka Williams Jr. - The freshman running back has had a solid freshman season thus far racking up 711 yards and 6.1 ypc behind what could be the worst offensive line in power 5 football (maybe Rutgers is worse, maybe). He also has been effective in the passing game being 3rd on the team in reception yards. Pooka is a guy offensive coordinators dream about, you can build an offense around this kid.
-
Khalil Herbert- Junior running back that has several huge games on the ground in his KU career. Him and Pooka can be. A great 1-2 punch if used correctly in the run game. I believe both guys have power 5 talent.
-
Stephon Robinson- had a bad first half against ISU Saturday but is second in receptions on the team. He is just a sophomore and believe he has a high ceiling and will be a very good WR before his college days are done.
-
Kwamie Lassiter II - Another sophomore WR that just recently started to see action outside of special teams. He too looks like a guy that can contribute in the near future. Having players that look like they have just scratched the surface of their capabilities would make a difference if I was being hired.
-
Carter Stanley and Miles Kendrick- having QBs that have played snaps at this level and being able to watch film with these guys to improve their weakness right off the bat also is something that I believe to positive.
-
Facilities- Yes, Memorial Stadium needs a face lift. But we have a brand locker room thatâs on par with just about anyone else in the country. The brand new indoor practice facility should be done before the end of this year. We also have Anderson Family football complex and the practice fields adjacent to Memorial that are fairly new themselves. Who ever gets this team will have better Facilities than anyone has ever started with at Kansas by a landslide.
- Lawrence/ KC - being close to a major city and a major airport is something that recruits seem to highly favor in this day and age. KC always has stuff going on with several professional teams and Lawrence is a great college town.
@Texas-Hawk-10 I would say that with Helton winning the conference last year he is fairly safe, if they make a bowl but one other thing to consider is they also have a new AD that probably wants he guy in place.
@justanotherfan 100% agree, Doke is a solid college player no doubt but he is almost completely ineffective more than 5 feet away from the bucket. He also isn't a great rebounder or shot blocker like Aldrich, Withey and some of the other bigs we have had.
Very sad news, a very young man. No other details have been release as in cause of death or anything. Prayers to the McLemore family.
One positive for opening up the job this early is that you maybe be able to get the next coach before some other high profile jobs open up. Louisville and USC seem like they have a good chance among others of being open. Everyone I've talked to with any connection is saying Miles is the guy but I'm not gonna bet the farm on it til I hear more or they announce it.
Beaty is a good guy no question and he may have actually been able to be successful if he hadn't inherited a complete dumpster fire from Weis. He may never get another shot at HC. People forget he also took a risk in taking this job, he wasn't the right guy but I thank Beaty for running a clean program and doing his best tho I am happy that he is being dismissed.
@KUSTEVE That Dook, UK game will be interesting. Zion is being billed as god himself at this point but UK actually has some experience for a change.
@justanotherfan I know your post is kinda old but which do you prefer as a judge? Liberal or conservative? I donât consider my self either but being a foster parent for 7 years I pray to god I never have to sit in another court room with a liberal judge. I have literally seen it cost children their lives because the judge gives abusers and addicts 10 or 15 chances before they try to take parental rights. A conservative gives them about 3 before they allow the kid to be adopted.
Yep as I figured it was mostly made up BS. Anyone with any amount of common sense could thousands, literally thousands of holes in most the stories. Not to mention most people donât take criminal accusations to politicians, they take them to the police.
@Kcmatt7 100% agree, itâs sad that Nichols has a better oline than us. There isnât a excuse for that in year 4.
They also pulled a Beaty and punted from the TCU 34 yard line for a touchback lol
More trouble in the little apple, more and more people are calling for Snyderâs removal as head coach. Rumors of Seth Littrell are floating around KSU boards like crazy. I guess several fans and players are upset that Snyder basically blamed the loss on a blotched FG attempt, the holder fumbled the snap on a chip shot and panicked. Instead trying to put it down or run, he threw up in the air and TCU picks it off giving the ball at 20 instead of inside the 10. Then the same player on a missed extra point had the laces pointed in and cause the misfire to tie the game late. I agree that those plays made a difference (didnât watch) but in a one point loss you could probably point at 20 or plays that werenât made, kinda like our Nichols loss. So many opportunities that we just missed, anyhow itâs fun seeing Snyder get some heat.
@BShark Bama I think easily wins the title this year as you said you can probably pencil in everyone on the offensive and defensive line as an NFL player, thatâs where the games are won.
@DanR we all have felt your pain buddy
The route is on at LSU and itâs not the home team lol
@HighEliteMajor You couldnât really Fire a guy at the beginning of fall camp when Long was hired. Soren is now saying KU will allow Beaty to lose the final 3 games or finish year before he is released.
@approxinfinity This is why we shouldnât just let anyone in. Every Democrat ik or see on social media wants completely open borders with no screenings or security whatsoever (there literally 0 countries like that by the way). There are plenty of good people that do deserve the chance to be here but that doesnât mean you turn a blind eye to the situation. We all know people will take advantage of it, thatâs what people do regardless of race.
I donât believe the amendment should be changed but I also donât believe anyone should be able to come and go as they wish into this country. Criminals and drug lords will amp up there business like crazy if the Democrats get what they want. Which is funny to because most of them have locks on their doors and privacy fence but donât believe in borders or laws. Next time Iâm hungry or want something guess Iâll just go take it from them. Iâm personally against the tons of tax payer money that goes to help illegals and immigrants in general. I tried to find an article that I read a few years back about a New York City cab driver that had immigrated from Europe that hated how much the Hispanics were getting help and he was working nearly around the clock to get his family here.
@jayballer73 I think if they do it, it will because of fan support. Only 15,500fans were at todayâs game and Iâd say over half were ISU fans. Joe Dineen actually called out fans after the game and I agree. KSU has the same record as us but will have a full stadium their last 2 home games. We need to support these guys as best as we can, they are working hard.
I honestly would be shocked if KSU doesnât spank the daylights outta us next week. Coming off of a game they really gave away. We all know how much Snyder puts on this game and itâs in Methattan.
@bang_sheezo You got it all wrong it goes:
-
Death
-
Taxes
-
My jumpshot
Sounds like Beaty could be out as soon as tomorrow afternoon.
Clemson has hung 77 points on Louisville.
Why we ran pooka up the middle all day is mind boggling, we didnât even try most of the screens that worked last week or any outside runs for him, Neaty maybe the nicest guy alive but his football IQ maybe the lowest of any coach at any level.
If we had any type of offense weâd be sitting at 6 wins right row, defense played good enough to beat Baylor, ISU and Nichols. The offensive guru of Beaty is a damn joke with the talent he has.
@Texas-Hawk-10 I'm not just talking about penalties, I'm talking about using 2 timeouts in the first 7 minutes of the first quarter. I'm saying pre snap issues in general are on Beaty mostly. You will never ever convince me that that is not the case. I will never convince you and @jayballer73 that any of this on Beaty.
@jayballer73 it's kinda like training someone for a job, if your trainer has had everyone hired making mistakes, you either are hiring some terrible people or your trainer sucks. I'll go with ladder with KU football.
@jayballer73 well which is then? These players, several which have been different during Beatys time have made the same mistakes so of it's not on the guy that coached all of these players than they are some dumb guys.
