Good to get punched in the mouth

Stuff like this happens to KU football. KSU gets a few lucky bounces to not turn it over on a fumble and a bad snap. While KU gets not one but two questionable holding calls that hauled huge gains. A dropped pass inside the five, every opportunity to be up 14 to nothing at the half, missed tackle on a 4th and 2 to seal the game. Then there’s the QB dropping the ball to end any hope we had (I rewatched that play and if the he passes that ball, the screen was setup so well, we maybe are talking about a W). It never rains but it pours and that’s just the way to describe KU football right now. The Nichols and the KSU loss flatout shouldn’t have happen.

If the next head coach isn’t Les Miles, Dave Doren or Seth Littrell I’ll be skeptical.

Does Stanford have chance to get Win in the Dean dome? Haase has a chance to beat his former coach and where he spent several season as an assistant. Go cardinal lol

I personally hope duke gets all the unbeatable hype and we just fly around doing what we do.

West Virginia falls all the way out, bad loss for sure but its so early.

A ton of people have said Wilt would most likely be the NBAs all time leader in blocks had it been kept as a stat in his time. Sportscasters claim several games he had at least 20. Joel is special, go back to some of my posts from 2015 talking about how I’ve only seen 2 or 3 7 footers move like that.

We had our chances for sure and we blew it but the officiating was without question one sided.

That first holding call was weak. Bill Snyder Greases the officials again.

My inside sources tell me Pooka will be heading to Texas A&M next season regardless of whom is named coach.

@JayHawkFanToo It won’t be that bad, although I’m here both KSU QBs could be out leaving a freshman with zero experience. I still think KSU just hands the ball to Barnes and he has a career day for 259 yards rushing. I hope KU wins but my gut says KSU 35 to 10.;

@justanotherfan Thats some of the that drove me nuts while he was here. If he wasn't just collecting a pay check in the league, he could be a great defender and rebounder. He's just good enough that he will stick around for a long time but won't put forth the work to get to a super star.

@JayHawkFanToo He defiantly under performed with the talent he had at times. But he also only missed one NCAA tournament and won 3 big 12 titles in I believe 17 years. He also had a FF and several sweet 16s. Shaka has already missed the tournament once in 3 years and hasn't made it pass the first round.

At this point Texas hasn't looked good for getting rid of Barnes. They were way more consistent when he was in town, Shaka has done less that Barnes with more talent than him baring the year he had KD.

Houston looks terrible so far this year as well

@approxinfinity Haha fair, I think he needs to tone down his ego and Twitter account at times forsure but I also think he’s a character and would be fun to talk to. Obama was a big basketball fan and tho I disagreed with the majority of what he did while in office, I bet we could’ve BS and shot hoops for a while.

@BShark I wouldn’t normally say this is a big deal, Graham had the same thing happen his junior here but man 3 guys this season? That’s crazy maybe Snyder should try a different method of punishment.

@JayHawkFanToo That’s pretty cool, I don’t really like any politicians but I think I’d enjoy meeting the president regardless of whom I voted for.

This could be one of the toughest schedules I’ve ever seen. We could end up playing 5 top 10 teams at least once before March. We will find out a lot about this team and early.

I agree with @HighEliteMajor either Self is a clean or he’s gonna end up looking like a cheat. I’m not a 100% which to believe at this point. We’ve had some piss poor recruiting classes at times if Adidas is really paying our recruits. There is also a chance that Townsend is aware of the payment behind Selfs back or he could be the fall guy. I’ve always thought everyone got a little something behind closed doors, I didn’t think it was 100k for sure. I’d wonder if we will resign Adidas or try to go with Nike. The trouble is with Nike (wether cheating or not) is that we won’t be the top dog like we are at Adidas.

Again I think the Guilty ruling makes us look better and as @JayHawkFanToo said you can interpreted in several different ways. He didn't say we will give him all that he is asking for, we all know recruiting is game and you have to say whatever you can to keep on the scent. I'll prob be dead before Dook is looked into for the top 3 players they got, one in which we know wanted to get paid. Question for everyone, We known Self has held out guys and currently is SDS, If we had Zion and all of this came out would he withhold him too? Coach K didn't hold out Carter last season tho his name was out in several reports and hasn't held out anyone that I can remember. He thinks/knows hes Untouchable at this point IMO.

I’m honestly starting to think KSUCK fans are just as bad. It was fun a couple of my buddies that are mildcat fans and chiefs fans were defending the refs after KC beat Denver when the refs missed a delay of game call. I was like “guess the guys that officiated the missed walk on Svi don’t get a pass” lol.

I think Charlie and K.J. will be the odd men out of the rotation. They’ll get minutes if guys are in foul trouble and mop up duty.

@FarmerJayhawk Enos could be a solid guy to have on the staff, not sure he would be ready or able to tackle this job as a HC.

I'd say most of this is expected on a game thread when people are typing whats on their minds as it happening. ESPN has always been pro ACC and SEC for as long as I can remember. Heck not only as @wissox mentioned that its all about them now, I remember beating them last year and the next day the whole page was full of Dook recruiting not on KU or even the tournament itself. I don't believe I've used the term rat face before tho lol. Yes there are complains about a guy calling the game spending the vast majority of it talking about ND football and UKs fan base traveling so well (UKs campus isn't far from Indy). Sometimes I agree that the Ref comments get old but last night we were whistled for 17 fouls in the first half, I'm not sure in my years of coaching, watching and playing BB I've ever seen that before. I read opposing teams blogs sometimes just to see what rumors and what they are talking about and this site is pretty mild to most of them.

@Kcmatt7 Dook is for sure the more talented team and has a higher ceiling than prob anyone this season. I'm just saying if they meet later on in the season Dook still wins but most likely but it ain't 34 point route. It's prob a 10-15 point win.

This would be a better game if played in a few months between UK and Dook. As some have mentioned UK had 15 TOs to Dooks 4, Dook probably isn’t going to shoot the ball as well as they did from ether the floor or 3 point land every game and UK probably won’t shoot it that bad often ether. UK has very little size compared to most years, Travis was on Zion a fair amount last night and tho he is listed at 6’8, Zion at 6’7 he looked shorter Zion. Zion still has plenty to improve on, I think all but 5 of his points came from a Dunk/lay up or Fts. It will be interesting to see him battle some guys that are bigger than him inside.

Some positives from the Dook route, anytime UK loses its good, we are closer in all time wins and now we don’t have the worst loss in the Champions Classic anymore. We also we beat a top 10 team lol good night folks and as always Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

@BShark wow they were 13 at half time, Scott Drew maybe on his way out. No doubt he put them on the map after literally the murderous past they had but he’s done very little with some talented teams.

@Kcmatt7 I wouldn’t say UK is a bubble team at this remember when they beat us by 32 in 2014-15 and we still won our conference and got a 2 seed. They also play in the SEC which drops off a ton after the first 4 teams.

@BShark Get to the Choppa!! I’ve lost a ton of respect for Marshall the past few years between his out burst, drunk wife in the stands and his we’ll play anyone crap but declined to play KSU this season. I’ve said before if I was Self I’d call down there and offer a home an home after he declined KSU so he could go on national TV to call him a chicken. I know Self is too classy for that move but I’d laugh.

This could be the worst UKs been beat since we did it 150 to 95.

I wasn’t the least but impressed with K.J. or Moore. Those two guys have a fair amount of work ahead of them if they want to stay in the rotation most games. Vick was a total ghost, I literally don’t remember anything he did good or bad. Which isn’t good for a guy that was on the floor for 32 minutes.

UK really doesn’t scare me at this point, Duke on the other hands will probably number 1 very soon if they end up winning by 20 plus in this.

@BShark Thats what’s so funny to me Dook, UNC and UK fans talking smack that KU pays players. You guys get better recruits than Kansas what do you think is happening there? Is what I always ask. I’d be willing to bet that the vast majority of D1 guys get stuff they shouldn’t, as I’ve stated Ik guys that have in the smaller ranks of college that has a ton of less money flow.

Wichita State got smoked at home by Louisiana Tech. Duke may have the most athletic team I’ve ever seen play at this level.

Only scored 6 points in the final 5 minutes with 5 missed free ones in that span.

@DCHawker I agree but this game means little in big picture, let’s see how he does is probably what Bill was thinking.

I hate how the officials try to keep the game close, every time KU gets up 12+, it’s tick tack time folks. Seems like that’s been the norm the past 5 years
