Would be fine if we’d stop with the live ball turnovers

I love coaching 7 year olds • Jan 28, 2025 08:10 PM

Yes I enjoyed coaching from pretty much middle school down. Anything above that they all think they already know everything haha

The GOAT debate is such a tough one with how much sports have changed over the years. I’m fine for Tom to be considered the GOAT at this point. The stars all had to align first him to do so. The AFC East was such a crap division for so long. The jets haven’t been relevant in my live time, the Dolphins and Bills are good teams now but took a long break after Jim Kelly and Dan Marino respectively retired. He had one of if not the best defenses in the nfl for most of his years as a starter. The last 2 super wins his defense only allowed a combined 12 points and just about every starter QB that season could’ve won it for them. His passing records are a little inflated because he played much longer. I believe he has like 38 more starts than anyone else in the top 5. Much like LeBrons scoring record. Congrats you played several seasons longer. To be the goat IMO you have to do something that’s never been done before in a relative timeframe and/or change the game. Hence LeBron will never be my goat.

@kjayhawks No one will agree with me on this but they really should make three different, equally prestigious MVP awards: one for a QB, one for a non-QB offensive player, and one for a defensive player.

An elite QB will always make the most positive impact of a single player. Having the third or 4th best QB is a way better asset than having the best RB in the league. So it makes sense that the best QB deserves MVP. But also, the best non QB offensive player or the best defensive player deserve credit, especially in cases where they might be better at their job than any QB in the league, even if their job isn't as important as the job of a QB.

I disagree a little bit with your logic of QBs and RBs. I think the eagles this season are the prime example. Hurts is a top 10 QB in this league arguably top 5. Barkley is the best running back this season no question. They have ridden his coattails to the SB they ain’t getting there with an average running back. NFL defenses have changed the last few seasons to where they have shifted focus to stop the passing game. I feel like that’s part of the reason Barkley has been great. The league is always flowing back and forth. I feel like every decade it goes to RBs are not important at all and then everyone runs a Tampa 2 style of defense shuts down the passing. Then running backs are important again the next decade, the cycle just goes back and forth. The only eagles player that worries me is Barkley.

I don’t care if anyone on here gets on a player whatsoever but if you take the time to message a player something negative or threatening, that’s right up KSUCKs alley. I’m friends with Zeke and Juan on Snapchat. I usually send them up lifting meme and such they respond fairly often. Juan the other night asked if I could deliver him the pork chops I was cooking. Told him they’d be too cold by the time I made it lol.

@kjayhawks - MVP will likely be either Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson this year.

Josh has been knocked out of the playoffs 4 times by Mahomes in his 6 years. That’s a pretty strong C Block. Once by Brady too - not too shabby. Allen may break thru or he may not, but he is a very good quarterback. - I’d take him over anyone not named Mahomes currently (but Jayden Daniels is rapidly growing on me).

IMO Barkley should be the MVP with how he has played in the postseason. It’s basically turning into whomever the AP thinks has the best year at QB. Which if you go off of number it’s Burrow over Jackson and Allen

2024 NFL Season • Jan 27, 2025 03:27 AM

@dylans said in 2024 NFL Season:

I really like Josh Allen. His only real flaw is being born at the wrong time. Mahomes is robbing his legacy. I’m ok with it, just sayin’

There are so many great QBs right now IMO. Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Jackson, Goff and Daniels is looking pretty dang good. I just hate the Allen to Mahomes comparison. Allen has zero MVPs, All Pros and SB victories. The comparison should be dead until Josh gets something going in the post season. As I said above he was very fortunate today he didn’t have 2 picks and 2 lost fumbles.

2024 NFL Season • Jan 27, 2025 03:24 AM

I think the bills will want that one back when they watch the film. Cook was phenomenal averaging 6.5 yards per carry and 2 touchdowns. One was all effort on his part. I think they tried to force the ball throwing and were lucky Allen didn’t have at least 2 picks. I think the defense letting up 29 and the Eagles scoring 55 will have them laser focus before the big game. Andy Reid maybe cement his place as one of if not the best coach in NFL history if they can get one more in a few weeks.

2024 NFL Season • Jan 27, 2025 02:58 AM

Defense wasn’t great today by any stretch but they made a few key stops when they had too. Barkley is gonna be a tough match up but gonna have a chance for a 3-peat. At least we have the chiefs here in Jayhawk land

2024 NFL Season • Jan 27, 2025 02:07 AM

Bills and Chiefs playoff game are all great

2024 NFL Season • Jan 27, 2025 01:57 AM

Mahomes šŸ’ŖšŸ’Ŗ running today, let’s go defense

2024 NFL Season • Jan 27, 2025 01:45 AM

It may just be the bills night 5 fumbles zero lost

2024 NFL Season • Jan 27, 2025 01:30 AM

That was an amazing play by Cook there

2024 NFL Season • Jan 27, 2025 12:57 AM

I feel like the chiefs should be up much more here two dropped picks and the bills fumbled twice with no turnovers. Go get 7 to start the half

Feeling the Fieldhouse magic? • Jan 26, 2025 06:41 PM

Well the sun came this morning friends. Which means it’s time to move on from this one. I just have one goal for this team moving forward, let’s just make the tournament. I think that’s the only achievement they are capable of making.

My crisis of faith in Bill • Jan 26, 2025 04:28 AM

My faith in Self is not at Zero anymore, meaning it is negative.

Feeling the Fieldhouse magic? • Jan 26, 2025 04:20 AM

Allen Fieldhouse Magic is dead RIP 1955-2022 it was once the greatest place in the world.

Feeling the Fieldhouse magic? • Jan 26, 2025 04:19 AM

@MoonwalkMafia right that’s the problem with losing in that manor, it erodes any potential positives away. It stinks to hear how we wouldn’t win crap outside of the B12 for years and it’s proven to be true since expanding the conference. We don’t even have regular season supremacy to hang our hats on. We have nothing during basketball season anymore. Do you think this team can win a national title? I think I have a better shot at winning the lottery and I don’t play it.

Feeling the Fieldhouse magic? • Jan 26, 2025 04:15 AM

@nuleafjhawk you are probably the smartest out of all of us pretty sure this year of Kansas athletics has shaved a decade off of my life.

Feeling the Fieldhouse magic? • Jan 26, 2025 04:12 AM

I honestly hope future NIL agreements are more so performance base. Imagine Zeke and Juan having to pay the university money they stole after tonight’s performances lol

Feeling the Fieldhouse magic? • Jan 26, 2025 03:17 AM

@Jhawk69 very true I should get off of here. I’ll add one last jab. You can’t call out your fan base like he did and then get out coached that bad twice at the end of the game.

Feeling the Fieldhouse magic? • Jan 26, 2025 03:07 AM

@TYOHawk yep I’m trying to decide if I want to watch this team again not only this season but as long as self is here. Clearly changes need to happen at the top back to back preseason #1 teams without conference titles and first weekend exits. Unacceptable for our program and Goff has to hold him accountable.

@approxinfinity - we have our answer already per postgame

Self: If people think this is the frickin end of the season, it’s not at all. We played right with maybe the best team in America tonight without one of our starters.

Flory was the best player on the court and has been outstanding since he got starter minutes. But since he isn’t 25 or in the circle of trust he has to go to the bench lmao.

This my worry KJ comes back and Flory goes back to playing 11 minutes a game while KJ a plays 30. Id be shocked if it doesn’t happen with how mentality disabled Self seems to be the last few years.

Anyone have know where to find selfs postgame. Curious to what BS he has to say this time

Unless he has the balls to say he should’ve been smart enough to have made one else throw it in and a 6th year guy should be able to make FTs at the end games. I ain’t interested in hearing it.

Fool’s gold • Jan 26, 2025 02:51 AM

@approxinfinity either way that’s not how things are done in college anymore we need to get with the times after we go home first weekend again. Either give him the option to retire or fire his candy ass

Fool’s gold • Jan 26, 2025 02:46 AM

Self winning the title in 2022 was fools gold and he shouldnt be coaching Kansas any more.

Feeling the Fieldhouse magic? • Jan 26, 2025 02:42 AM

@TYOHawk said in Feeling the Fieldhouse magic?:

@kjayhawks it’s even more frustrating when you think about we likely lost out on a future NBA talent in LaBaron. His camp didn’t want him sitting the bench and they know Coach won’t bench Juan ever. He’s held us hostage for years.

Yet last game we got told ā€œhe just needs pros around him.ā€ Like no crap every player would look good if they had pro teammates around them.

Like twitter or X whatever the heck it’s called nowadays has been blowing about all year with Juan and KJ playing 30 MPG. Do they have pictures of him with the cheerleaders or something?

Feeling the Fieldhouse magic? • Jan 26, 2025 02:38 AM

@TYOHawk Juan Harris is the worst PG in the Self era maybe you could say Tharpe is right there with him. I can not wait til he is done in a Kansas uniform we have recruited over some damn good players in Selfs day but not him for some reason. He doesnt even have the talent to play over seas.

@TYOHawk YOUR LOOKING AT THE WRWONG GUARD THAT COST US THIS GAME.-- tHIS IS ON zEKE

We were up 6 with what 20 seconds to go heading to the free throw line. The 6 year senior should be able to make one free throw to get us over the hump.

Yes Zeke was dreadful as well but this is on Dajuan.

That is one of the plays that could have won the game in regulation, but not the last one. There were more blunders to get there. It was a team loss, don’t put it on the guy with 11 assists for missing two free throws.

He is our 6 year senior PG who’s been here his whole career. I don’t think expecting him to make a single free throw to make a game a 3 possession game is hard to ask for.

I can’t believe Coach went from guys like Sherron, Frank, Tyshawn, Devonte and Dot to this.

We would expect those guys to make a free throw…he’s being paid to make that free throw.

Correct sir the same Juan was 1/6 in Ames as well and had some huge misses in key moments.

I wonder how many of the upset fans are bettors? I’d probably be pissed at the Chiefs if I put money on the game instead of enjoying the season. I’m curious what percentage of outrage is cost by an ill placed bet? Or is just about a game not going as hoped? Social psychology curiosity

I usually don’t bet on games that I’m a fan of, giving this away in the manor we did I have no ill will towards and fan that is madder than hell right now.

Feeling the Fieldhouse magic? • Jan 26, 2025 02:17 AM

Anyone else just sitting there starring at the tv like how in the hell could the most experienced team in the country with supposedly the best coach in CBB.

How can you guys be so sure we win with KJ? Flory didnt foul out til 2nd OT!

Hunt and Flory clearly were gassed at time in the second half and both OT periods

Feeling the Fieldhouse magic? • Jan 26, 2025 02:09 AM

@wissox I think we win with KJ no question, just don’t want him to play 30 minutes a game. At this point it’s pretty obvious Flory is just as good or better in about every aspect of the game. KJ is better defensively but I’d take Flory every where else

Feeling the Fieldhouse magic? • Jan 26, 2025 02:06 AM

The older I get the easier these roll off the back. 88, 08, 22 all still fresh in the memory. We're still a good team and we'll learn from this.

This is the type of loss that destroys locker rooms. Players question each other and the coaches ability after one like that.

Feeling the Fieldhouse magic? • Jan 26, 2025 02:02 AM

@Zabudda yes I honestly could puke right now. HOF coach and Senior led team smh can’t finish up 4 with 16 seconds left and up 6 with 17 seconds left. Fucking ridiculous no other word for it.

@BeddieKU23 Again, major bill self skeptic here. This is on the players. The mistakes they made are things you learn in middle school

True the players should’ve made simple plays but why have Zeke continue to throw the ball in?

Feeling the Fieldhouse magic? • Jan 26, 2025 01:57 AM

I’m ready for a new coach in Lawrence friends

Feeling the Fieldhouse magic? • Jan 26, 2025 01:56 AM

We got out coached at the end of game for sure but your 6th year senior should at least go 1 for 2 at the line

Feeling the Fieldhouse magic? • Jan 26, 2025 01:53 AM

Jesus hunt that was right there, had 3 guys right there

Feeling the Fieldhouse magic? • Jan 26, 2025 01:50 AM

Feeling the Fieldhouse magic? • Jan 26, 2025 01:42 AM

@DanR I'm the biggest bill skeptic there is but i don't understand all the blame he's getting for some of this. Zeke is a 5th year senior who's been playing basketball all his life. He has to do better.

I’m frustrated with Zeke and him for the end of the game. That can’t happen

Feeling the Fieldhouse magic? • Jan 26, 2025 01:26 AM

I just question wtf we was running on the last 2 in bound plays smh
