@SlimShaddy54 yes lines up linebackers right on the line every play so no one can make a play on the run and man to man coverage has a 10 yard buffer even on 3rd and 6. Schematically it’s laughable idk that our players are that bad just it doesn’t work and hasn’t all year since we started playing decent teams.

This is the problem right now with college athletics, the coaches are getting insane buyouts after a one good year. They are worried the coaches are going to follow the players suit of just jumping to the highest bidder every season. They really need to regulate it from a players standpoint. Crazy seeing guys get bags of cash from 3-4 different schools. LLs buyout at 23 million is absolutely insane for a guy that has coached 3 winning seasons at this level of football.
This team does just enough to get your hopes up, life was much easier on Saturdays when expected 2-3 wins and we had a dominant basketball program. These last few years have been the toughest in recent memory as a Kansas athletics fan. Guess maybe we can hang our hats on volleyball and soccer. 😞

We are just not a well coached team this season, maybe some of that has to due with the personal stuff Lance is going thru with Kelly. But you can’t have terrible snaps and procedure penalties 11 games into a season. You expect that the first few weeks but we have way too much experience on this roster for that to happen.
It should be Isiah Marshall time but it won’t be because Lance loves JD to much. Just like Juan with Self last season will ride with them regardless of mistakes and score/wins.

Every QB we play looks like they are playing madden, maybe that’s why they like JD so much. He prob looks like a god at practice against these losers
Offense looks good and the we have a penalty that derails the drive. That maybe the straw that broke the camels back.

My god it’s like we didn’t practice at all during the by week. I’ve always gave Lance credit because his teams typically improve thru out the season. This year it’s the opposite, we can’t make simple plays the later we go. We are gonna get blown out by 40 here today

@Jhawk69 you look at the salaries of D-lineman we could have 2 really good ones for the price we paid Chris Jones. Watching the bills struggle tonight and lose to the Texans. It was all on the defensive front, Josh was sacked 8 times and ran for his life the whole game. The only difference in Mahomes and Allen in that situation is that people like @nuleafjhawk wont be screaming Josh is washed after a bad game. The chiefs just can’t get pressure with 4 and they struggle getting even sending extra rushers. The secondary is decent but it’s the NFL, you can give a decent QB and WRs 4-6 seconds every play to make a throw. I’m disappointed they made zero moves because anyone that knows football knows the issue is D-line and either RBs or just flat out not attempting to run the ball at all. I bet teams laugh at the play action against KC.
I liked Diggy last year he was a spark plug several times. Honestly would rather he stayed over Elmarko or Mari at this point he’s a much better player than both. It’s the same reason Ngala should play more IMO
The KU women’s basketball had a solid win over Minnesota last night at the field house 63-57. Minnesota was basically the 30th ranked team in the land getting votes in both polls. They got a tune up against ORL Sunday then a tough test against Georgia next week.

Draft stock already seems to be dipping and I agree with this list, very small sample size on everyone especially DP but I don’t believe him to be anywhere near the best freshman in CBB this season.
One of my favorite quotes from Self is on Tyshawn “He’ll make some plays that you can’t coach and then he’ll make some plays that will make you wonder if he has ever been coached” . I like the Council comparison the problem is, does he have time in his one year here to finish the way Tyshawn did. I’d compare him to sophomore or Junior Tyshawn at his best.
This team has a lot that they can build on will be interesting to see how we fair against the BYUs and Houstons of the conference once we get more time playing together.

I don't get this at all. Missing a center? Flory plays next to the rim the whole game. He scores almost at will, just punished Dukes bigs, plays nice defense, rebounds could improve a bit, but I have no clue why you think we're missing a true center.
Focus on the next. Beating ND would be our first win of the season against a P5 type team. They should beat them I believe, but without DP (?) we'll need to play well with energy like we did last night.
Flory is fine but we need another one to back him up, see the game when he left the floor. Flory is good but has a lot to learn, see UNC game of him getting destroyed defensively. We needed to get a Tarik Black type guy in the portal IMO.
My son insisted we watch the whole game lol so we did. I was ready to call it in but with about 5 minutes to go once they pulled back away.

I don't think DP returns. We've seen this story before. But, I actually think this squad--without him-- has a chance to be in the top 10 by seasons end without him. A lot of youth, but with Tre and Council we could make a good run. IMO. Obviously a better team with him (as a diversion) the longer his poor hammy hurts.
Ya my inside sources say he never plays again for Kansas again. Hes much more worried about the draft. Makes sense to me if it was a hamstring issue that was serious they announce it so he doesn’t look bad. That and if was a grade 1 sprain they shut him down for a month not have him come back and forth while showing no signs of discomfort.
After watching the second half, I’ll say again Kohl should come off the bench once DP returns
We have sucked so bad at ball screen defense since Bog David left. Everyone blamed Hunter but flory is the same tho is light years more athletic
I’m proud of the effort tonight, we looks much better than we have without DP. We really need him back so we can learn to play together
