@BeddieKU23 , @Texas-Hawk-10 - I need to back up a little. I tend to watch the games detaching the personality from the player. I know David is a great kid. Very intelligent, very articulate. When I say things like I did, I know what I mean, but I don't think about how it sounds to others. I was just very frustrated with the things he was/wasn't doing. I will try to make things less personal and critical.

@Texas-Hawk-10 Sometimes they hype gets the best of me. And I tend to use HYPErbole a bit too much. Like a bajillion times too much. See?

@BeddieKU23 Self obviously is a pretty good coach. But can you imagine what his record would look like with just a little less stubbornness?

What about Wilt? I say G.O.A.T. - younger folks might pick LeBron or MJ or whomever. And we're probably all right in our own minds.

So it doesn't matter if I say D-Mac should be on the bench or not. It's just my personal feeling. Not always. But in that game, we were better without him.

@BeddieKU23 It was a "how to lose the game" clinic for the record books. Textbook. I've found that stubbornness is rarely a good answer for anything.

@BeddieKU23 Well, you can say that every basket of every game is important. But he was AWFUL in this game. He should not have been in there. I believe the first half showed that.

@Texas-Hawk-10 - I had a very filling breakfast of crow this morning. That's what I get for getting my hopes up. We suck.

So - McCormack is in the game and we're almost dead even. A bucket up or down.
McCormack rides the pine and we DESTROY Texas. Fourteen up for most of the first half.

Light Bulb !! Hey, Hall of Fame Coach - let's put McCormack back in and watch him personally lose the game for us. Missed dunks, stepping on the out of bounds line, bobbled passes. Self HAD to realize that, in this game, we were better off without him.

@Texas-Hawk-10 Ahhh, you're probably right. I've just been trying to take the glass half full stance lately. (Says the guy who turns the game over to Mr Robot when we get down by 8 points)

Still, I think in a neutral stadium and with Bill Self as a coach, we have a pretty good chance of making some opposing teams and fans cringe.

@Texas-Hawk-10 I don't know how old you are, but please don't put "Sweet 16" limits on this team. I remember in the stone ages, we went into the NCAA's with ELEVEN losses and won the National Championship.

Yeah, I know - we don't have a Danny Manning, but we have some good players who haven't reached max potential either. I hope nobody counts us out until we're out.

Speaking of streaks - I apologize that I haven't had any extra google time today, but does anyone know what KU's (basketball) longest LOSING streak is of all time? Thank you ahead of time.

If you don't have a healthy Mahomes (and a couple people protecting him, it's gonna be an "L") The defense is not good. And on top of not being good, had their heads up their butts most of the night. We can never rely on our defense to win games.

@FarmerJayhawk ME. Armchair coach 1966 - present. Have never lost a game coaching from my couch. And I work cheap.

@approxinfinity I don't understand why so many are opposed to a vaccine of any kind. Is it a religious/moral thing? I mean, I'm not a saint, but I've been saved for 30+ years and I have complete and total faith in Jesus - but I still take medicine when I'm sick. My wife takes medicine for her high blood pressure and cholesterol.

I'm 62 and I'll guarantee you - everybody my age has been vaccinated against Smallpox. Oh - fun fact - NOBODY has smallpox any more. I read somewhere that more than 300 million people died from smallpox in the 20th century alone. Now it's been virtually eradicated. BY VACCINATION.

@Texas-Hawk-10 You know - the suit thing was a little bit tongue in cheek, but I also believe there's some truth to it. Back in the day there was a saying "Dress for Success". People pay attention to sharp dressed people. Especially those in authority.

Tell Billy Boy ( I would have called him Mr Self had he been wearing a suit) to dress up tomorrow. We win by 20.

I'm as unenthused as I ever remember being about KU Basketball. I'm seriously blaming it on Self. In 18 years, he's always worn a suit on the sidelines on game day. He looked like a professional coach. Now he looks like my next door neighbor's uncle coaching the YMCA kids.

I was so upset about our 3 game losing streak - UNTIL - I tuned into to K-State's game last night. Sweet Mercy - have you seen their Lovely Lavender jerseys? They are the worst thing I've ever seen.

Do we rush the court if we beat K-State?

@Kcmatt7 See, the UNC, UK and Duke options don't register in my head. I'm so thoroughly crimson and blue brain washed that I automatically think that anyone that wants to play anywhere else but KU is a flippin idiot. I know that's not right, but it's the way it is.

I believe we had the Scott Drew Chronicles sometime last year and I about got kicked off this site because I wouldn't jump on his bandwagon. I still won't. He is the epitome of a bad coach.

What you say ?? Well - he consistently has the best athletes and does nothing with them. If he was a Great coach - he would take sub par players and win and win and win and win.

@Crimsonorblue22 Hon, do yourself a ginormous favor and go with YouTube (or almost anyone else). I was paying $248 month for Cox. NO HBO, Showtime, Cinemax - nothin. Just TV & Internet. $50 for YT (may have gone to $60 now - my wife pays the bills. lol)

I actually am still using them for Internet (begrudgingly). Not tons of choices in Salina for internet that I'm aware of.

@drgnslayr We've been using YouTubeTV for .....about a year now and LOVE it. Lots of Sports channels. We do pay the extra $5 for ESPN+. We have had zero issues with YTTV.

We also get Hulu, Prime, Disney+ and Netflix, but we only pay for Prime. The others we ride our son's coat-tails.

I'm SOO SOO SOOOOOOOO happy we told Cox to suck it. They are the worst company in the history of the universe.

If we can get Scott Drew REALLY involved in the X's and O's and not let his players just play - we have a pretty good shot.

@jayballer67 Yep - happened to me TWICE and about half of the people that I work with. I spent .....7-8 hours online filling out reports, then another couple on the phone and made a trip to the local police station.

@justanotherfan The Chiefs have proved that they can score a lot of points at the end of the game. I would prefer they get off their asses and try doing it in the beginning and middle as well. They have looked completely out of sync the past few game and IF - big flippin if - they get to the Super Bowl, I believe they will be humiliated.

I'm not a hater. I LOVE the Chiefs. I have for well over 50 years. But I'm seriously not happy with their "squeak past the opponent by the skin of your teeth" style of play lately.

@Bwag I'm not saying this to be mean or sarcastic, but do you think you could be depressed? I've had some experience with that over the years and one of the symptoms is just not giving a crap about anything.

Now, not watching the news - that's just self preservation. I did that many years ago, and I wouldn't change it. Cancelled the newspaper and watch only things that don't make me want to puke.

There are lots of good reasons to watch KU basketball. It's FUN. One thing there hasn't been much of in 2020. They're good. I mean, if you were a K-State fan I'd tell you to just keep the stupid TV off. But these guys are good. And it feels good to be excited. Even to be frustrated or disappointed. It feels good to FEEL.

Turn em on tonight, brother. ESPN2 at 8:00 CST. ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!

Hmmm. I'm sure a 57% completion rate, combined with 13 TD / 12 INT will surely be what we need to resurrect KU football.

@wissox Glad you pointed out free throws - my own personal pet peeve. So, last night - in a one point win - we hit 14/15 free throws. I feel vindicated!!
