@tis4tim Lol - I tore up a few shirts crawling under chain link fence to see the local high school football team when I was a misguided youth. Last year.
@tis4tim I've heard that happiness is Lubbock, Tx in your rearview mirror.....
@tis4tim I would like for you to elaborate on ripping your shirt on the chain link fence. Wouldn't it have been easier to just buy a ticket?
@drgnslayr If a Big 12 Champion is not officially declared - then it automatically defaults to KU. That's what happens when you have fifteen in a row. Even if there's an intermittent hiccup.
@FarmerJayhawk I haven't seen the list. But I hope you're right. We have to have players or it really doesn't matter who the coach is.
@mayjay It's embarrassing (to me, anyway). I cannot understand why we can't attract good coaches and good players. And, I'm of the belief that there is no coach anywhere that could come to KU and make a winning program with the players that we have. NOT talking about their heart or character - just their football ability. Is Urban Meyer going to turn this team around? NO. Vince Lombardi - NO. Whoever you think the best coaches of all time, at any level are - they can only coach players who can play with the big boys. And you have to have more than one or two. You have to have them stacked up 2 and 3 deep.
Sorry - sermon over. But I'm frustrated. I want us to be good at football too.
@Woodrow Don't despair. It seems like every season, but since 1890 we've only had 39 coaches. So - we're going to do this every 3.3 off seasons. On average.
:)
@Kcmatt7 I'll still do the job...
@Kcmatt7 Stepping down, or getting fired?
I hope it's stepping down. Because, at this point "KU" should just keep whoever's there and pray for 1 or 2 wins per season. No sense spending time and money trying to find another coach who will only stay one year.
Look, I bleed Crimson and Blue. I will do the job for....1/2 mil per year. Think about that! I would save the University a buttload of money and I could probably scrape by on that salary.
Plus - I GUARANTEE I would win at least as many as Les did this year. Where do I sign?
@Kcmatt7 Zackly - if it ain't broke - don't fix it.
I wish they'd fold up completely and concentrate on basketeball. Yeah, I know - finances. But in my book humiliation outweighs finances.
@wissox brother - I am sorry, I let you down. It was weird - I got into the game and forgot all about chatting.
you suppose garret could have at least TRIED to get that 3pt rebound ????
@benshawks08 a 7 pointer
@wissox Isnt their freshman QB from Blue Valley N. or somewhere?
Guys like Ballak (sp) and the Wisconsin QB make me sick to my stomach.
Zigahookski
Weren't we supposed to get obliterated with D-Mac on the court.....?
We shouldn't even play. Throw in the towel right now. White flag a wavin'. If we can't hang with Gonzaga and barely squeak by Kentucky - NO WAY can we be on the same floor with Creighton.
WHO?
@BShark Possibly Gregg Marshall ????
@approxinfinity - LIFETIME BAN me for that comment.
@approxinfinity - LIFETIME BAN @BShark
@tis4tim Spot on with the "bored" comment. When we're down 10-14 points is when I feel the most confident. Truly.
@Kcmatt7 You think more than I do. (most people do!) I was totally perplexed about the 4th and one call.
@Kcmatt7 LOL - I wasn't going to say anything, BUT - since you mentioned it. I was WAAAY happy in the 1st quarter. Then they went into Andy Reid's patented "wait and see" mode. Overall, I was pretty disappointed (discouraged?) that they had - what - 600 yards of offense and only won by 3.
They've got some work to do. But - honestly, wasnt that fun to watch him throw down the field ?? It sure was for me!
@mayjay Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of his. But, you cannot tell me, if you watch every game, that he is fun to watch this year. It's not that hard to get 300 yards per game (I'm not looking at stats - but I saw that he attempted 45 passes against LV) when you complete 35 passes per game. Thirty-five short passes.
I'm happy that they're winning, but what happens when one of the running backs gets hurt?
@Kcmatt7 I don't know. You have to have a point to say something?
What I'm talking about is that the Chiefs offense is completely different (as in boring) from last year. Mahomes never throws a long ball any more. He's got two good running backs that are making him less spectacular as a QB. In my opinion.
I'm old school. I think the NFL & Super Bowl MVP should be able to throw further than 5 yards. Oh wait - he makes too much money now. All he has to do is hand the ball off to the running backs.
@Texas-Hawk-10 Harbaugh would never have to worry about "Big" games at KU. There are none.
It wouldn't matter who is coach. Andy Reid would never win a single game at KU. You have to have at least one or two decent players and NOBODY wants to play at KU.
Sorry for the rant. I do feel a little better now. It's not personal.
Like usual.
Thankful that your wife is OK!! Prayers for you both to put it behind you quickly and that it won't be a long, drawn out trial.
@BeddieKU23 Everyone needs to sharpen their outside shooting, as nobody will be allowed to guard anyone closer than 6 feet.
@kubuckets Anything positive is a rarity for KU football. Oh, how I long for the 2-10 or 3-9 glory days.
@jayballer67 I would imagine if 1,500 (or whatever) is the maximum amount of tickets that they allow to be sold - it would have to still be considered a sellout if they sold all 1,500 of them.
@jayballer67 I was in Texas this weekend. Saw several "Willie Nelson for President" posters.
I'm in. Fire one up, Willie.
" Attack " is a very inappropriate word to use to describe any part of KU's game.
Oh no. There goes our bowl season.
I guess it's inevitable that this ship will sink Saturday without Les at the helm......
@approxinfinity I think they came up with the name because "Washington We Don't Want To Upset Anybody In The Universe Because Everybody Is Crybabies" wouldn't fit on the helmet.
@nwhawkfan He was better when he didn't have a $153 million dollar contract.
I used to really pull for WSU as long as they weren't playing us. Until they hired Dr Douche. I cannot STAND this guy - haven't liked him from day one. I used to really laugh hard when people talked about him taking a job at a high level school. He's an ass, but he's smart enough to know at WSU he's a big fish in a little pond and has a chance to win a few games.
Until now.
@nwhawkfan Oh, come on now. We have horses too. At least the back end of the horses.
@Kcmatt7 What you said
@approxinfinity BUT - They're so young. How can they afford to start a family ??
@Crimsonorblue22 Just don't call him Pat
@Kcmatt7 Lamar Jackson is out of position. In my humble, and correct opinion he should be a receiver. He is definitely a good athlete, probably has good hands and is very quick.
Which means he will not last as an NFL QB because if you run the ball as much as he does someone is going to lay him out and then Baltimore will have no QB.
My guess for the rest of the season - we get outscored 425-67. Not a win in sight.
@wissox He was a fantastic football player. Someone (I don't remember who) said he made moves that couldn't be made. I saw him play pro football, but don't remember any college games.
What sticks with me is that practically everyone who knew him said he was a better man than a football player. That's a mouthful.
