@stoptheflop I wonder who the next, great "Can't Miss" coach will be?
@stoptheflop Maybe it came from a buttload of BC overconfidence by seeing what their opponent had done previously... ?
@stoptheflop It usually takes me 3 or 4 games to get into "Lord have mercy, bring on basketball" mode.
But I'm there right now. That was some pathetic play on Saturday.
Is that why the whole team sucked?
@approxinfinity
It would work for all the rest of us dumbasses too, if we were president and had a few billion dollars in the bank.
I want to watch pro football. Not listen to a 3 hour litany about BLM, social injustice, pride and prejudice, war and peace, romeo and juliet. This whole damn world has lost it's collective mind and i'm SICK of it. There might be a place to talk about that crap - on the football field is not it.
@justanotherfan I've been pretending to be an idiot for 62 years now. Nobody has caught on yet.
"There will be no fans in attendance when the University of Kansas football team kicks off its season Sept. 12 at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium."
In other words, it will be just like every other KU home game. I'm not a hater.
@approxinfinity I'm in Kansas, bro. I don't even know what that is!
I've always preferred a good Reuben to a Philly
@kubuckets The one game I went to last year. I hope we look better this year.
@mayjay I think you already had a scotch. Or ten.
@Crimsonorblue22 PHOF!!
@wissox Careful, bro. I about got run off of here for saying Drew wasn't a good coach.
@approxinfinity That's a legitimate question. I got your back, bruh.
@stoptheflop I think every single one of them wholeheartedly regrets getting their asses handed to them 2-3 times per season in basketball.
@stoptheflop I know what you mean! I watched it again about 6 weeks ago and I was like "crap - there's no way we win this game". The last 6 or 7 minutes was truly unbelievable.
@approxinfinity I so appreciate your positive attitude. I'm very, very glad to hear that your brother has recovered. Thank you for this site and thank you for being a sense of calm in the storm.
@drgnslayr Silver Lining - most people look better with masks on. Some should wear full body masks.
The best way is to wash it, dice into 1/4" cubes, then toss it down the garbage disposal.
@jayballer73 THREE THOUSAND FANS IN AFH???
That would be like the best night EVER at Oklahoma State!
@Kcmatt7 Sir. Think about it. Her message is to look very good and marry very rich. College is vastly over-rated in many circles...:)
@mayjay I blocked someone here one time. Then about a month later, I unblocked them. Thought I should get the full experience.
I am a dumbass.
Apparently, I am THE most naive, ignorant person on the face of the earth. I CANNOT believe that race is even a thing. I can't believe it. I'm not going to sit here and tell you I'm a saint. Most of you know that's BS and my family and friends will all attest to the fact that I am NOT. But I can tell you this for sure - I don't give a shit what color someone's skin is. What does that have to do with ANYTHING??? I talk to people on the phone all day long - most of them I've never met and probably never will meet. I don't know if they're short, tall, black, white, in a wheelchair, whatever. I like or dislike that person based on their personality. If I met them in person (and many I have) it doesn't change what I think of them. I have talked to guys that sound like Mr Rogers and look like one of the Duck Dynasty guys. I've met women that sounded like Marilyn Monroe and looked like Mama June (old style Mama June). It doesn't matter. I didn't say, "Well, shit - they don't meet my physical profile needs. I'm done with them." NO - I had already established that I liked them and their appearance doesn't change that.
What the hell, people? Try liking / trusting / helping someone first. THEN, if they screw you over - throw them under the bus. Preferably not literally. I just can't believe we call ourselves a civilized society and treat people like this.
@Crimsonorblue22 - "What a shitty world"
Interestingly enough, that was the original lyric for Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World". They just weren't sure how many records it would sell.
@Hawk69 The masks were necessary in this venture. It's bad enough to look at nekked women from Kentucky, at least their missing teeth were covered by the masks.
@wissox That's fantastic! Not all the bad news, but your ability to stick with it and overcome. I'm sure your family and friends are very proud of you. Praying for complete healing from the cancer. Hope you're running for a very long time to come!
@justanotherfan LOL - that's how insignificant A & M is to me - I forgot all about them.
@kjayhawks I wonder if Nebraska, Missouri - and Colorado are happy with their choice to leave? Seems like they all have basically disappeared from the D-1 sports scenes. Maybe they should have got therapy and just worked it out with the Big 12?
Having a punter on the Chief's team is like hiring somebody to teach Doke how to shoot 3 pointers.
BUT - - - how will they survive?
@Kcmatt7 Who's zoomin who?
@BShark Our "backyard" neighbors have this little dog-like critter that yaps CONSTANTLY. Me and another neighbor were talking about it one day and she said "I HATE that little yapping S.O.B. - and I don't like his dog either."
@approxinfinity We've been doing a butt load of fishing. Not so much catching, but fishing. It's still good for my soul.
@wissox I haven't paid a whole lot of attention to anything lately - why am i going to K-State? The flint hills are actually quite lovely.....
I've hated the one and done thing since it first reared it's ugly head.
Now i'm at the point that i don't give a crap who plays what or where. I just want there to be some sports going on. Let 8 year olds play in the NBA - bring it.
@focojayhawk said: "I’d agree to whatever my wife-to-be wanted."
@Kcmatt7 - This guy^ - listen to him. He is a wise man.
@rockchalkwyo You talked me into it! Sounds like fun. I've been married 41 years in June - maybe we could make it an anniversary trip.
Not trying to be funny - but how about a "destination wedding"? Like Wyoming or Utah where hardly any cases have been reported? People have destination weddings all the time - might as well go to a safe place.
@kjayhawks whats better than gold? Whatever that is had Belushi, Aykroyd, Chase, Curtain, Newman, Radner, Morris and others. The first 5-10 years was phenomenal.
Thanks guys for your answers. I appreciate the time and effort.
One more thing I thought of. I've always been told to NOT use hand sanitizer and/or disinfectant type products on a regular basis. Sure - if you're cleaning the bathroom or whatever. Because it jacks with our bodies natural ability to fight off bacteria and virus'. So why are we bathing in the stuff now? Theoretically, wouldn't that make the problem worse for the reasons listed above? Just asking. I obviously don't know anything.
@approxinfinity The vaccine point - there's a LOT about this whole that confuses the crap out of me. I don't know how old you are, but I'm almost 62. Every single time in my whole life that i've actually gone to the doctor when i felt like crap i've got the same story - you know what i'm going to say.
"It's a virus. Nothing we can do. Let it run it's course"
So now, if this is a virus - why are they saying they can come up with a vaccine? Is it just a placebo vaccine to make people think they're doing something? (not generally a paranoid person - it's the only thing that makes sense to me) Are they just going to shoot em in the arm and send them home to let it run it's course? And if they truly come up with a vaccine for this, then why can't they do it for every other virus? Inquiring minds want to know.
@mayjay and why has it taken - however long bats have been on earth- for this to show up ?
@wissox It's like when I send someone a heartfelt text and zip - not a damn thing. Is my phone broke? Or do i matter that little?
I answered a bunch of questions, but i don't know what the outcome was.....
@dylans said "Scary to think we really haven’t advanced much on virus warfar in the last century."
Even more scary to think that 100 years later we're still too stubborn and stupid to do the right thing. I will admit that when this thing first surfaced I was pretty skeptical. And chances are astronomically high that if you wash/sanitize your hands and keep them away from your face, you're not going to get it. And if you do get it, chances are very high that you're not going to die. But - I'm all for the quarantine and doing things the right way in order to get back to a more normal way of life. I have a feeling that it's never going to be exactly the same. Actually, I hope not.
@Texas-Hawk-10 said in Best College Player to Wear Each Jersey Number:
Pistol Pete averaged 44.2 ppg for his college career. Is still the NCAA all time leading scorer by over 400 points and has the 1st, 4th, and 5th most total points in a single season. Just imagine how far out of reach that record would be if freshmen were allowed to play back then, he’d be pushing 5,000 career points.
If you want to blow your mind a little more - imagine that they used the 3 point line back then. He would have averaged probably 60 pts per game.
@DoubleDD We should be friends here.
First of all, you will notice (or now you can notice) that I'm not in on the politics conversations. I am 100% ignorant on politics. If I've ever called you a name ( and I'm pretty sure I have not), I sincerely apologize.
But, the points you make are why I would discourage political talk on this board. It's a no win situation. You can not win, so why talk about it. There are Republicans and Democrats alike that would vote for Satan himself because he was Republican or Democrat.
As far as Donald Trump goes - I didn't like him before he was president. I thought he was an arrogant, pompous ass. My opinion of him hasn't changed, but if you like him - so what? You may know or recognize a lot of things about him that I don't see. (Especially since I'm so politically ignorant)
Just don't let it get to you, brother. Know before you start that if you're talking about politics or religion it's not going to end pretty.
2 out of 3 ain't bad
I watched the first half (cuz im old and need my rest) of the 2008 game vs NC last night. It was a beautiful thing. NC was the overall #1 seed and averaged about 300 pts per game that year (something like that). They were supposed to steamroll poor, pathetic (35-3) KU. I remembered beating them, but I forgot that we got out to a 40-12 first half lead. I should have just stayed up and watched the whole thing because I was amped!
So, after watching the 1988 game a few nights ago, where we were also supposed to get steamrolled by a far superior, freakishly athletic OU team - (and if I remember correctly we also beat them) I've come to the conclusion that when we get to the title game next year, we should pray that we get to play a far superior team who is supposed to crush us.
