@BShark I know, but it was really unbelievable what Sharp did in High School. I called my dad every Friday night for four years (he lives in Texas) and would tell him - Sharp had 427 yards, 7 touchdowns - by halftime. (just made those up, but there were times when those numbers would be pretty accurate). He was so dang fast. I couldn't believe how - meh - his time at KU was. I really thought he would turn the program around.

Oh well, we'll get another Gale Sayers one of these days.

I feel justified in saying that Doke is not good. In four minutes he's missed a dunk, two free throws, had a travel and I know I'm missing one or two other blunders.

If you don't think Bennett is a good coach - you might want to re-think that. You don't hear me and others saying that we want him to replace Self - just that he's a damn good coach. Get over yourself.

@drgnslayr I realize I wear my heart on my sleeve and I tend to get mouthy after (any) loss, but I really have never liked him as a basketball player. I feel that his inconsistency on the court rattles/drains the whole team. His one claim to fame is his field goal percentage (well, the other claim to the opposite fame is his free throw percentage), but who gives a crap if he dunks the ball 5 times a game and makes 3 of 9 free throws? Give me a more athletic big man who can shoot from 10-15 feet and make 65% or more free throws. Someone who can make and catch a pass.

Just my opinion.

I've been trying to figure this out in my head all day - given the fact that we had 28 turnovers and we can't change that - would we be happier if we had, say 8 turnovers and lost by two points?

I personally felt like Carey looked like Wilt compared to Doke. Of course, most games I would look like Wilt compared to Doke.

@drgnslayr I'm not a basketball guru - just a fan, but I've always felt like we're a better team without Doke in the lineup. His turnovers and lack of FT shooting ability really hamstring us. I have nothing against him, he seems like a super nice kid, I just think he's a terrible basketball player. Every time he matches up against another 7 footer (or close) he gets embarrassed.

@mayjay I do it myself occasionally. We all want to be right, and it's easier to be a little snarky when we're anonymous. I didn't read all of what you're referring to, but hopefully cooler heads will prevail and we can all get along.

Watching on TV, it looks like no matter who they're playing or what's at stake there will be a maximum of about 3,000 Okies there for any given game.

Must be a lot of good country western bars in Stillwater.....

On a positive note, we have the ridiculous bird helmet and the ugliest uniforms in the history of the universe going for us.

@kjayhawks interesting stats about Snyder on the sidelines. Although, for the record - K-State's record in the Snyder era had nothing to do faith them an himself. It was his decision to snuff that ridiculous Willie the Wildcat logo and go with the Powercat logo.

And if he had changed their uniforms to black, instead of sissy-girl purple they would have won a out 3 National Championships during his tenure.

@KirkIsMyHinrich This reminds me of when I was about 18 years old (a looooong time ago) and me and my buddy were in a dark, smoky bar. That was the only kind there was in this town (and 18 was the legal drinking age back then - told you I was old).

So we're sitting at a table and I looked up and saw this gal in super tight white pants leaning across her table and talking to someone across from her. So I elbowed my buddy and said "JEFF!! Would you look at the * rear end * on that one!! About that time "she" turned around and it was a dude with a full beard. I put my head in my hands and felt like an idiot.

A while later, my buddy was like " You know, he DID have a nice * rear end *.
Good times.

I feel like we used to be like the above verse - we considered ourselves as "grasshoppers", or inferior and therefore, so did our opponents.

Now we have some SWAG and are losing the grasshopper mentality.
