What is it about WSU guys (former) like Reeves: they play way beyond their normal games against us. Its like younger brother playing against older brother

We're OK, they're OK • Mar 12, 2021 01:06 AM

Who was the poster who called it at half?

We're OK, they're OK • Mar 12, 2021 01:04 AM

Wilson, Thompson and Braun are no shows on offense

We're OK, they're OK • Mar 12, 2021 01:03 AM

where is our defense? OU with 39 second half points

We're OK, they're OK • Mar 12, 2021 12:25 AM

Speaking of Embiid, does anyone else think his KU career may be John Grisham's inspiration for his new book "Sooley."

We're OK, they're OK • Mar 12, 2021 12:23 AM

@BShark But it's a weird year when some coaches aren't shaking hands (I don't either) and then some coaches don't even wear their mask when they meet the other coach after the game. Weird year.

We're OK, they're OK • Mar 12, 2021 12:20 AM

@jessejayhawk Good point 16/33-48.4 percent overall, so pretty damn good from 2.

We're OK, they're OK • Mar 12, 2021 12:14 AM

Still Braun 0/3 and the team is 3/14, 21% from 3. We've got to shoot it better.

Non-KU Games Thread • Mar 07, 2021 12:40 AM

I assume the huge loss (pending) to NC will finally be enough for the tourney officials to quit trying to find a way to get Duke into the tournament.

Les Miles • Mar 06, 2021 10:55 PM

I suspect the issue for KU is that when Miles was recruited and vetted, he was certainly asked whether there were any improprieties in his coaching background that might jeopardize our program. Miles must not have been honest about the sexual harassment case; I'm fairly certain KU wouldn't have hired him if he disclosed the offense. If this is true, it seems the failure to disclose the sexual harassment case is grounds for a for cause dismissal.

Les Miles • Mar 05, 2021 01:43 PM

@tundrahok Our poor football program never gets a break. 2013 problems just now being reported by the media and KU's football program gets tarnished as collateral damage. When will KU football get a break?

KU tune up game thread • Mar 05, 2021 01:25 AM

Well, at least no one is in foul trouble and forced to sit on the bench. All hands on deck for the come back. RC

Return of the Red Jersey's Game Chat • Feb 28, 2021 05:50 PM

Since getting their asses handed to them by the Kansas City YMCA on February 3, 1899 by the score of 16 to 5, KU has 2,320 wins through the Baylor game based on NCAA statistics. Can you imagine 5 points for the entire game? Dr. Naismith didn't have an auspicious first game. During that first season, KU played six games against YMCA teams, one against an athletic club and then games against Haskell, Independence, MO and William Jewell. I don't know if the NCAA totals include games that weren't played against colleges.

With only 8 wins this year, Kentucky's total wins stands at 2,326. It only seems appropriate for KU to be the leader in all time wins. I look forward to the day when KU takes the lead.

Return of the Red Jersey's Game Chat • Feb 28, 2021 02:56 AM

I just hate the red uniforms.

Return of the Red Jersey's Game Chat • Feb 28, 2021 02:54 AM

12 points from the bench really helps. Keep it up guys

Return of the Red Jersey's Game Chat • Feb 28, 2021 02:31 AM

KU outrebounding Bay 35/15

Non-KU Games Thread • Feb 28, 2021 02:24 AM

Matthew Hurt scored 37 in the Duke loss. 15/21 from the field and he fouled out. I guess I followed his recruiting too closely and was disappointed when he didn't pick KU.

Return of the Red Jersey's Game Chat • Feb 28, 2021 01:45 AM

Dave the only hawk that came to play.

Buckets Game Thread • Feb 20, 2021 08:55 PM

@FarmerJayhawk Dave gets stripped and the other team never fouls. Jeez

Buckets Game Thread • Feb 20, 2021 08:42 PM

Why do KU bigs always go for the pump fake?

Buckets Game Thread • Feb 20, 2021 06:55 PM

Looking forward to hitting some 3s and playing good D to beat Texas Tech.

Avoid The Hangover Game Thread • Feb 14, 2021 01:37 AM

So, do we get back in the top 25? We've played the toughest schedule, but the voters don't seem to be taking that into account. A'holes.

Avoid The Hangover Game Thread • Feb 13, 2021 08:24 PM

Almost 12 minutes into the game and IST has only taken 9 shots to our 21. And they lead?

Finishing out the season • Feb 12, 2021 07:35 PM

Last night's game was refreshing, but it was only one game. When the 3 ball is falling everything is right with the world. I hope the 3s continue to fall the rest of the way.

Huggy Bonus Game Thread • Feb 07, 2021 09:02 PM

A journalist answered my earlier question: KU's 231 weeks in the top 25, back to Feb 2009, will likely come to an end Monday.

Huggy Bonus Game Thread • Feb 07, 2021 02:51 PM

Are there any linguists on this board? I need an American word for "schadenfreude." One of the few pleasant results from this horrible D1 season is the pain Kentucky fans are enduring and reading their many solutions and suggestions for their disasterous year, including firing Coach Calipari. I'm not proud of my compulsion to read the Kentucky boards, but it gets me through yet another poor outing by our guys yesterday. KU may stink, but UK is much worse. Just ask their fans. Schadenfreude, since I can't find any pleasure from our team.

Huggy Bonus Game Thread • Feb 07, 2021 01:53 PM

Instead of spoiled fans, I would characterize us as fans of a program because it consistently puts a competitive and competent team on the floor. I know that is and has been a difficult task that starts with recruitment and ends with wins. That's what I've been a fan of and Coach Self and his staff have been great for many, many years. There's nothing wrong with pointing out how this team and even Coach Self are different this year. I can't help but think there is a hangover effect and a loss of drive for most D1 players. A hangover for those players who put great effort into last season, only to see it end so suddenly and without a satisfactory conclusion. Clearly, fans in the stands matter to the players and their level of play. Marcus Garrett is a completely diffierent player this year. Christian Braun doesn't show up for most games. I can't figure it out and the coaching staff obviously can't either.

Huggy Bonus Game Thread • Feb 07, 2021 01:30 AM

So, are we going to drop out of the top 25 for the first time in ? years? Just sad for this team and our fans.

Rock Chalk game thread • Feb 03, 2021 01:37 AM

Isn't it correct that Coach Weber's voice is caused by surgery when he was a child? Its not something he's trying to do. Almost like a handicap.

Non-KU Games Thread • Jan 30, 2021 02:27 PM

Anyone else suspicious that Kentucky conveniently found covid to avoid another loss today? Playing Texas at Austin was going to be a tough game for Kentucky. I don't suppose there's any verification required to cancel a game.

Boomer Thread • Jan 09, 2021 11:49 PM

WSU Shocker guards, even former players always play well against us. Reaves was by far OU's leading scorer, 7/14 for 20 pts. Season average is 16 though.

Boomer Thread • Jan 09, 2021 11:40 PM

Another poor outing for Braun. 5 pts. 1/6 from 3. But he had 9 boards

Boomer Thread • Jan 09, 2021 11:11 PM

13 TOs and 10/17 on FTs. We aren't helping ourselves very much.

Many thanks for your posts, Lump. I look forward to them every game.

I'm just hoping for a strong second half like KU had against W Virg.

Happy new year Texas beatdown chat • Jan 02, 2021 05:52 PM

Just hoping for a repeat of the strong second half KU had against W Virg.

Some saying this is Shaka's best team.

Who's out for Texas? There has been some chatter but no names have been mentioned.

Non-KU Games Thread • Dec 27, 2020 02:13 PM

@wissox Coming into this season, KU was 16 wins behind UK (2318 to 2302). KU will catch up, but it might be next year.

Non-KU Games Thread • Dec 26, 2020 09:41 PM

@jayballer67 Can anyone explain why UK posters refer to Louisville as U6? Jayballer's posts about other message boards convinced me to look at Cats Illustrated/Rupp Rafters. Pretty funny.

Brees The Warrior or Faker? • Dec 20, 2020 02:23 PM

Very interesting game today. How could a QB with a hundred broken ribs and both lungs ripped out on Nov 15 be healthy enough to play on Dec 20? Will he be brought onto the field in a hospital bed with IVs hanging off every limb? What a warrior if he beats the Chiefs today. Bigger than Rambo vs. the national guard and super mean chief of police. Bigger than David vs. Goliath. Bigger than......... I'm looking forward to the spectacle.

Emperor Of Basketball Game Thread • Dec 20, 2020 02:05 PM

The 20-21 Jayhawks miss playmaker, Devon Dotson more than first round draft pick, Dok. Not to go all Kentucky fan here, but no one on this year's team has shown any ability to get the offense started like our man, Dot. What if Dotson had returned this year? The draft wasn't exactly a success for Devon.

@BeddieKU23 said in Non-KU Games Thread:

UNC right back in the game

I find myself rooting for Roy's team because I absolutely despise Kentucky.

Non-KU Games Thread • Dec 19, 2020 03:35 PM

I hate it when basketball officials make the game about themselves by calling way too many fouls. I've turned off games when the refs call fouls on every possession and it becomes a FT shooting contest. All refs need to check their egos and realize the game is about the players and the refs' role should be minimal and not even noticeable after the game. I was just sure the refs were going to call a foul on KU when TT had the ball with 5.9 seconds on the clock. I hate the phrase repeated so often that during the beginning of a game that players need to adjust their game to the way the game is being called by the refs. BS. Let them play; that's why I'm watching.

Emperor Of Basketball Game Thread • Dec 18, 2020 05:38 PM

Crazy game; very difficult to watch. Hopefully, everyone will get better. Braun and Garrett led rebounding with 10 each. RC. McCormack only had 3 rbds in 20 min. Even a blind hog can get more than 3 rebds in 20 min.

Emperor Of Basketball Game Thread • Dec 18, 2020 02:06 AM

16 TOs and 22 fouls: How in the hell did we win this?

Emperor Of Basketball Game Thread • Dec 18, 2020 12:40 AM

Our offense looks just like the kids in the park. Drive and shoot no matter what.

KU Still Number 2 in All-Time Wins • Dec 12, 2020 07:54 PM

My apologies: KU still needs 12 net wins to overtake UK. At the end of last year, UK had 2318 wins vs. KU's 2302. Maybe we will get there this year.

KU Still Number 2 in All-Time Wins • Dec 12, 2020 07:50 PM

@FarmerJayhawk Not a downer, sir, you are correct. We still have a ways to go. Thank you.

KU Still Number 2 in All-Time Wins • Dec 12, 2020 07:27 PM

@BShark Calipari is showing some stress. At the end of the ND loss, he was very upset.
