Florida looks good right now.
Wisconsin and Florida will be a good game.

Who thinks Dook could reach out to Jay Wright if Coach K retires?
So we have KU, WVU, BU, and .... is this it from the B12?
Nova blew my East region bracket. This is huge because many thought Nova would repeat.
@Blown Credit ISU for coming back, but they lack an inside game and their trey finally ran out, because Purdue had too much in the paint.
Before the ISU fans start complaining, Purdue had more TOs. Check that, Clowns had 1 more foul than Purdue.
In fact, the treys were an even percentage.
Purdue out rebounded ISU. Purdue is a load inside.
Let's focus on MSU....one game at a time
The trey is sexy but loses in the end without an inside game...great year ISU, so close but yet so far
ISU downfall is NO INSIDE game
Prohm choking himself?
Where's the cocky "call me" hand jestures?
Clown fold?
Someone needs to teach Swain how to "PUMP FAKE" and jam
Burton fast for a big body
Purdue BIG...gotta get your big boy pants on against Purdue
Whoa...ISU ball
Great game call and no calls
Underwood GONE? WOW...I'm truly shocked and its unbelievable. BUT, if Boone would give the bball program the love he gives the pigskin, maybe they could land a better coach.
OSU only 1m a year ? STUPID. Oh, and let the rumors end now. Bill Self is not going to OSU.
@JayHawkFanToo I'm just talking or telling tales out of school, but my NBA dream coaching staff would be...
Bill Self
Danny Manning
Billy GIllespie
Norm Roberts
Kurtis Townsend would likely land at a great program.
Snacks would do fairly well at a strong Mid-Major.
I'm typing out loud. But this would be my NBA coaching staff of the year.
@JayHawkFanToo Here's a possibility. Self goes to the league and brings Manning with him? But you're right, Manning may want to remain at Wake and build that legacy.
@JayHawkFanToo I'd agree and good point between coaching and recruiting.
I picture the boyz like a bunch of race horses in the starting gate; raring, bucking, and anxious to create their legacy. I hope they pace themselves. I don't want them to do too much in this first game. However, if they can play and win like they are capable, they can make a huge statement to the pundits and the first round morons that always use that old tired first round loss crap against KU. I'd actually like to see KU win this first game on principle by about 20-25. No disrespect to the UC Davis team. But actually my desire pays them all due respect. KU can't take any team for granted. So, no mercy and treat this team as though they are as good as any other team faced all year.
I said it for the last 3-4 wins of the regular season leading up to the B12 tourney, one game at a time.
@BShark Great post. I can't wait for Hudy to get a hold of him.
@wissox Oh yeah...who's uncle showed up at the games with the clock?
Selden's Uncle Anthony was a riot and a lot fun.
(
That clock is off the charts.
Uncle Anthony wants KU to win a NC...Let's win one for Uncle Anthony boyz.
@wrwlumpy Love me some vino.
@wrwlumpy Absolutely beautiful.
@wrwlumpy Oh my...can't take my eyes off your top pic.
@blackmild33 Sad thought, not the family point, but the Misery point.
@Crimsonorblue22 Yeah...I really like Romar. I've always respected him. I still say, my opinion only, but John Calipari screwed him royal by snatching Jones after he committed. But Calipari and WWW went to work and worked their magic. Viola....Jones commits to UK, and won a NC. Gotta love it.
@JayHawkFanToo Well, yes. There was a lot of crazy talk and there was actually a pretty interesting discussion after Brown snatched him away from North Carolina, not UNC, but the state. I don't think it was a huge topic, but it spurred some talk. You're right, Brown did it really well and it wasn't as obvious as it is now. But many referred back to Brown/Manning as an example. Maybe there was little to nothing of what they tried to claim, but they tried all the same.
I'm not arguing against your basic comment, because I think you're actually right and wrong. But definitely a topic later for this rule.
@Blown Ok, ok, ok...I feel your B12 pain. However, let's not forget we need Danny Manning to continue his upward improvement as a head coach, so call me anti-B12 or just pro-Danny Manning, but he just may be the heir apparent to Bill Self. Maybe I'm too idealistic. But look at Danny Manning's progress. It's been much shorter than Self's and his impact at Tulsa and now Wake is extremely notable. He's flying under the radar and is horribly under rated. Let's see what Danny Manning does with Wake over the next 2-3 years.
Also, keep in mind Dook might be looking for a new competent, experienced head coach. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what the ACC inter conference coaching policy might be, but Cuse is also looking for a great coach to lead the program after Boeheim retires.
KState might even give pause to Manning, not much, but his name may be brought up in discussions. Danny Manning will likely land at a Blue Blood (UK?). Why not his alma mater? The timing is a little tight because there is not much age difference between Self (1962) and Manning (1966). We've all talked about the possibility of Self jumping to the LEAGUE. Let's say I'm rooting for DMan and wish the best for him.
If it's any consolation, I was rooting for DMan, but glad the B12 had a great showing. I just don't want to give too much credit to the purple coach. Fair? Ok. BTW, Manning has a very special place in my heart. They won the NC in 1988, my sophomore year. So, forgive me if I root for the man or coach, not the team as much.
A kick in the nuts would be if a certain OU recruit convinces Porter to join him in Norman.
Also the origin of the recruit/parent rule, etc, etc....The two coaches that inspired that little rule was our own Larry Brown and Danny Manning (Ed Manning) and later Bill Self and Rio (Ronnie Chalmers). So, I'm not sure about speaking up too much about this rule.
The irony is a little funny.
KSuck out played Wake the last 5 minutes of the game. Wake lost this in the last 5 minutes. They pulled within 1-2, but just couldn't maintain. Wake so close.
Wake relies way too much on the trey.
Remember in 1988 Danny went to the line and Ed Manning yelled, "Settle down Danny"
Maybe Danny needs to tell his team to settle down. They can win this game.
Deacons
Danny and the Deacons are within striking distance. Watch him out coach Weber.
@chriz No problem with your opinion. However, your logic can be used against any team. Some win and some lose. We've seen KU DOMINATE in past years and lose to many subpar teams. I understand your point and overall, I'd agree. Let's let the boyz decide what they want to do on the court.
I'd rather be a optimist than a pessimist when it comes to KU. You're skeptical when they lose. Then, if they win, you're good. So, you're a little inconsistent yourself? I'm rooting until the fat lady sings. Your logic can be applied to any team in this tourney. If they are unfortunate enough to lose at some point, the tourney is simply over for me. I stop watching IF KU loses. I just don't think so. I like their tenacity, will to win, JJ is back, and they know the result of a poor game. Dang dude, they've played like hell to overcome their own hell to win #13. Give them some credit. Don't forget...last year they lost to the eventual NC Nova too. KU too is a different team from last year.
Danny and the Deacons
It gives new meaning to Danny and the Miracles
I'll see your Elite 8 and raise you a National Championship, over seed and weak conference be damned. Nothing matters at this point. The team that is playing the best wins. Your conferences, seeds, and stats don't matter. All that matters is who is cutting down the nets. You obviously don't think it will be KU? You just settled for an Elite 8 or F4. What kind of fan settles for less than a National Championship? KU's chances are as good if not better than any other team.
The 1988 team was considered pretty weak based on some of the comments made on this board. This is why they were titled Danny and the Miracles. Yet they played another B8 team, OU for the Natl' Championship.
@JayHawkFanToo That's right, it was Memorial. Thanks for the correction.
Puke will go down 2d or 3d round, mark it. They are done.
The Gonzaga boys have no idea what they're doing. They will be the first #1 seed out.
UNC has potential, but I don't think they have the stamina to stay too long.
The only two experienced and capable teams are Nova and KU. We both have our problems, but overall, have what it takes to go the distance.
@approxinfinity He's a big MOUTH :open_mouth: :punch: Miami is not even ranked in the top 25. How much of a moron can you be to bet against a team that wins in what is arguably the toughest conference for the 13th consecutive year? The idiot is arguing against what many other better known critics have tried to do and learned not to after Self has proven the pundits wrong. They don't bet against KU. KU isn't out until the FAT LADY sings :musical_note:
Let him open his mouth and insert his foot. KU has achieved more with less and has proven themselves to be totally competitive in some really tough games. Also, they bring one of the most experienced teams into the tourney. If people think the TCU loss defines KU's season? They are truly stupid.
He obviously hasn't seen KU's BPI, RPI, SOR, and SOS. KU is ranked in the top 10 in the nation statistically. Miami's SOS is #17 and KU is #12. All others are a distant prayer compared to KU. It is March Madness, but Miami is nothing compared to KU.
@brooksmd I think it smacks of Cam Newton. I wouldn't be surprised if UCLA gets into some kind of mess because his dad pulls a Cam Newton.
I don't care much about UCLA nor do I follow the Ball kid. I lost all respect for that program back in the Jim Harrick days. They hated the twins during our Pac12 challenge and Harrick showed his azz a time or two against KU.
I don't know what happened in Gtown, but I feel for John Thompson III. I've always respected that program in some way. I hope they can get their stuff together and clean up the mess. This guy would be a great get for KU in the pg position. It depends if he has that play now attitude or if he can wait his turn and learn to play team ball.
@StLJhawk ISU has that BU tendency. They reach a certain point and they just fizzle. The magic is gone at this point. They just don't have the endurance in the tourney.
@approxinfinity Again, I think the OSU win is a krypto breaker. I think the krypto curse is off, even if KU faces MSU. I have Miami over MSU. I do think Miami gets the edge over a young unproven MSU team. I have Purdue over ISU. ISU doesn't have the coaching at this level. They have the talent, but in the end, the B12 tourney took a lot out of them. I will be a little surprised if they get passed Nevada. I have KU and L'ville slugging it out in the E8. The Oregon L'ville game will be a good one. I think L'ville has the edge over the Pac12. I'd like to see a Nova KU rematch from last year.
I went over the ESPN tourney challenge and I was surprised at some of my picks.
The Jayhawks lost their Big 12 tournament opener to TCU without suspended star Josh Jackson. Kansas missed out on a chance to get revenge on Iowa State in the conference tournament, but might get another crack at the Cyclones in the Sweet 16.
The Cyclones, the 5-seed in the Midwest, beat Kansas in overtime in Lawrence in February and closed the regular season with nine wins out of 10. They'll have to get past Nevada and possibly Purdue for a trip to the regional semifinals. - ESPN
I was reading the WVU ISU thread the other night. There was a butt sore Clown fan arguing against KU and get this....he was even bitching about how KU would've won if they played them in the B12 tourney due to Bill Self having the refs in his back pocket. He even bitched about how Huggie tried to put the refs in his back pockets, but his team proved KU and WVU wrong. What was even more funny, the foul ratio wasn't that skewed.
Sad how fans have to depend on the officials to win or blame for losing a game.
@Crimsonorblue22 I REALLY think that OSU win was bigger than many realize. It broke a losing stigma. They proved a little something to themselves that other teams could not do over the years.
@KansasComet Miami is one of those B12 type teams too. It will be interesting. We should come out on top.
@BeddieKU23 Exactly. It took that horrible pressure off the boyz to prepare. They still have respect, but still have a NC to prove.
There is nothing in between now. Crimson and Blue all the way to Phoenix. There is no other option.
ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK GO KU
