@benshawks08 Interesting take that I didn't expect from anyone here. I guess it's always good to learn something, but I also believe as I stated that it doesn't prepare kids for real life because there's no bosses out there providing dogs for when things get a little stressful!
Sorry, but I don't follow these recruiting threads much. Who is he. What does he play? What's his rank? Is he a KU lifer or a rent-a-player?
@globaljaybird I decided to quit KUBuckets a couple of weeks ago. But as the Indiana game loomed I really wanted to be part of the live chat, so it allowed me to rebrand myself and choose a less clunkier handle without losing my identity from before.
You don't realize how much something is part of your life until it's gone. I found myself lurking and the lurking caused me to reconsider dropping out and well, here I am, same as always. I quit Facebook the other day also after the election, really tired of 'friends' on FB bickering over the result. I've never seen a country so divided. Of course I wasn't alive during the Civil War, so I guess there's that, but in my ever increasing lifetime, we are at an almost 3rd world like mentality of I don't like the election so I'm going to riot. I'm not against protesting necessarily but protesting the will 50,000,000 people or so seems to be sore loserish. (I didn't vote for Trump fyi!)
Speaking of the election, I read where some department of KU was offering 'serenity dogs' or some such term for students to play with to help deal with the emotional toll from the election. They weren't the only ones. Ivy league schools were offering all kinds of ridiculous play do, coloring books, etc to students to 'help' them. Ironically it's not helping these kids one bit because they'll be working in real jobs in a few years and experience in jobs where bosses will breathe down their necks and these pansies won't be emotionally prepared to handle.
So to some up, I need @Red_Rooster to read this and affirm me with a thumbs up because I don't have a serenity dog to comfort me when no one thumbs up my rambling post!

@BeddieKU23 Apparently Philly has been holding him out some games as a way of easing him back into things. He's had 3 or 4 DNP's already. Makes me nervous every time I see his name not being in the box score.

@JayHawkFanToo Oh man, I've been trying to avoid being a blame the ref person this year, but last night had me rethinking all of the bad calls when we play Duke.

The best part of the game besides the win was getting tickets for our game in Austin! Can't wait!

@BeddieKU23 I've wondered the same about the huge number of fouls in both of our games. Is there something about our style that is leading officials to call things so tight? Are they trying to use us as an example? Not sure of the answer, but it cost us one game and nearly a 2nd game that we should have won comfortably but didn't because of the whistles.
@jayballer54 Just playing devils advocate. On Josh's fourth foul, imagine being an official watch a meeting of 3 players at real time and trying to discern what just happened. I could easily see where they could call that. Josh's arm was caught up in the 'transaction' and it appeared like he stuck his arm out in the way of the dribbler.

Of course media will probably be saying Duke was shorthanded so what's wrong with KU that they couldn't beat shorthanded Duke more easily. We did have a 51% shooting rate compared to 48% for them. Not sure how we beat them really. But it feels good.
I don't care how it happens, but any win against Duke is sweet, even if they played with only 6 guys all night. Udunka gets a game ball as does JJ who is going to have to learn to keep his head focused. His stupid T led to him fouling out when we needed him. Frank of course though is the MVP. Two quick, ridiculous fouls and he's on the bench, and comes back and well, you know.

Two of it's early showcase games and NCAA refs call 110 fouls (so far). These refs have ruined two games from a viewers perspective.

I'm glad they showed the replay of Doke being fouled about three times there. I strained to hear a whistle. Then at the other end 3 KU guys are just standing there and Duke gets a whistle.
