Washington is a better team than Penn by any measure. The tournament isn't about getting in the best teams. Not that Washington is one of the best 68 teams anyway.

Silvio might not start, I could see it anyway. The Lawsons do that that Morrii kind of connection where they play well together. Silvio will get lots of minutes though, doubly true if Doke leaves.

I think you have to play Grimes over Moore if you do that though. You end up with a pretty great defensive line-up in that case. Assuming Self can get Grimes to buy in.

@BeddieKU23 Silvio, Lawson and Lawson is still extremely good. Throw in Mitch and McCormack for emergencies.

I think the team is fine if Doke goes, but I'm not sure where the hell Doke ends up. It won't be the NBA.

@BeddieKU23 It was his typical doom and gloom. Moore totally sucks but will start over Grimes. KU will look for transfers etc..

If you believe Ryan Noel then Cunliffe, Newman, Vick and Doke are all leaving.

@HawkChamp Watch a bit of Penn. Not in the same universe athletically as UW. Very athletic teams are what give this KU team trouble.

OAD rule killed Malik. He would have been severely overdrafted and overpaid w/o it.

@StLJhawk The 7'3'' kid probably won't even play. Their coach says their best player, Darnell Foreman, hasn't practiced in 6 weeks and is playing with a stress fracture.

@BeddieKU23 Their schedule obviously isn't great. So that helps their numbers. Lost to Toledo by 13. You remember that Toledo team we played... They could get up in the 70s or so but there is no reason KU shouldn't get near 100.

I did not mean to imply he has had the same kind of off court transgressions, he's a pretty good kid. He does love the kush though*, more than most and it might just be that Self thinks it's best for everyone if he is elsewhere next year. There is a real chance he would be bumped to the bench next year after starting which can be tough to swallow. His mom is a riot, she's great.

*I have no problem with this at all to be clear. Next year's team will be plenty :leaves: either way.

Being scared of Penn is kind of absurd. #205 offense on Kenpom. They don't play slow either, they play at a faster tempo than us. Not saying it would be impossible for KU to lose. They are a bit strong for a 16 seed but not obscenely so.

All this said I guess I predict a loss. :dagger:

Super good in 11 too. Easily top 3 each of those seasons.
