@jayballer54 Yepp. McCormack will sign today as well.
Pretty sure @FarmerJayhawk is right and it hinges on Vick. I'd rather have a SR Vick but either is a good option!

@FarmerJayhawk not what I'm hearing - - I've heard Indiana has really gotten solid and now overwhelming to land him - -I feel too that's where he ends up - - Loves his in state school. - -- ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
Are you contacting Indiana homers on twitter dot com?
You've heard Langford's dad repeat the term business decision right? If Indiana is dog poo, that's bad for business. :coffee:

@BeddieKU23 we will see against Kentucky if Garrett's game translates against athletic opponents. We won't see 10 rebs again. Will be interesting.
I think translating to a game against higher level athletes is much more of a Svi problem than a Garrett problem.
UK looks like poop, so hopefully we beat them...
@HighEliteMajor KU was involved. Vick committed first. Vick was ranked higher on 247 but deep down only the staff knows who they preferred. Mack had a solid SO season at Texas developing before he knuckleheaded himself off the team.
I'm still not sure how much PG he plays (esp with Dotson coming on board) but he is a hell of a player and a good ball handler and passer.
Also A&M was without two quality players.
@KUSTEVE All aboard the Garrett express.
That team would be really good, but a departure from what we've had lately. Defensively... well I think the opposition would rather have a root canal than play us. Offensively there would be some shooting issues but Dedric has tremendous skill in the post and will take a lot of shots. We'd have another penetrate and create guard in Dotson. Garrett continues his role as junkman. Grimes scores at all three levels. The main issue is 3 pt shooting.
Not saying you are but definitely don't get too hung up on his recruiting rankings. He was improperly evaluated in part due to his great athleticism. IF he buys in and learns the system he can be a decent 2 way contributor his JR/SR years but I don't expect anything from Cunliffe this year but playing at the end of blowouts. Garrett has already shown he is too good to lose minutes.
Even next year might be fairly tough for him assuming things go as planned with Grimes even if Vick leaves (I hope he doesn't!). So let's see what that looks like. Dotson and Grimes will start (don't @ me) along with Garrett. Moore will definitely get some run as the kid fills it up. I think his best shot is Self returns to mostly playing big and KJ slots as a 4. So then Cunliffe is the 5th guard if Vick goes and KU doesn't land Langford.
@KUSTEVE Well I think if KU had another capable guard (say if Cunliffe were eligible even) Svi wouldn't have started either. Self just had no choice. Svi OR Newman had to start. Seems like both of them got the message though so all is well on that front. Both were more engaged on D. Also Newman wasn't out that long after the bad pass.
With the turnovers it felt like a lot of them came when the team got a huge lead and started playing sloppy.
Also, Graham out there fooling around with a triple double.
Missouri still murdered ISU too... yeesh
Indeed. Gonna be a ton of Mitch tonight so hold yer breath.

@BShark r u serious?
I would not joke about this. Was posted on official KU twitter account.
For missing curfew and a class.
UM. Billy isn't playing at all tonight. Crap.
Starters are Graham, Vick, Garrett, Svi, Doke.
checks last time Indiana was nationally relevant
Oh...I see...
@jayballer54 He should contact coach K for strategic injury tips. He might need to develop a back injury this year, wouldn't want all these upcoming Ls on his record.

@BShark I asked my IU buddy if they had crean on speed dial...Stubby's lil brother is not getting off to a very good start at IU..
And you know Romeo Langford is watchin
@BeddieKU23 At least Ahmad will presumably be back for them.
@KUSTEVE Indiana fans missing Tom Crean yet?
McCormack 11 and 8 tonight.
@jayballer54 Not sure if you are watching but Calipari just about had a seizure on the sidelines screaming at his team.
@dylans Much harder in football but amen brother.
UK woke up.

TCU might legit be the 2nd best team in the B12.
Also Indiana is down 42-23 at half to Indiana State.

Okay I thought so. Good to see KU hasn't suspended anyone....

That happened awhile ago did it not? But yeah it's going to be a mess.

Going with 3. At West Virginia, and a couple other games on the road. At TCU won't be an easy game this season. But I think KU will beat Kentucky by 10-12 points.
Hey bud. I had a tough day today good to see you.

@jhawk7782 Cunliff isn't very good, I was hoping for help from Silvio as you appear to be also.
Cunliffe is deep bench*.
*trademark pending
@jaybate-1.0 Appreciate your thoughtful analysis as always my man.
Thanks to everyone. Too many to @ mention you all. :)
Posting about this has been very cathartic for me so far so I figured I'd make a thread here too.

The scariest thing is WHO is going to replace 200+ FT attempts and 47% trey shooting? (And thats just Frank). By extension, that means a lot of fouls on the opposition to earn 200+ FTs, which as the games grind on, starts to deconstruct the opposing team. Welcome to Self's lessons, young KU players...can this team start doing to opponents all the little things that add up by the end of the 4th period.
Because we like and had gotten accustomed to the 20pt blowouts by the 4th period. Thats the royalty way. Can the kids deliver?
I don't think we have anyone on the roster that can draw fouls like Frank did. It's just going to be a different team.

Good timing then. Hopefully we have about 40 more distraction nights coming
Now that what I feared has actually happened I will post.
Just had a close relative pass away.
I've never needed the distraction of a KU game more in my life than tonight.
This case looks much more cut and dry than Cheick's case was.
Bill Self is pretty confident too @HawkChamp on last night Hawk Talk when Cunliffe at semester was mentioned he also strongly hinted at another addition.
@FarmerJayhawk You will never see me dm'ing recruits that's for sure. This put the information out there when obviously the staff didn't fully want it out there yet. Hence Matt Scott having to be vague about it.
HawkChamp said:
Sounds like his guardian is pretty confident. Is anyone aware of past cases like this? Cheick was a little different. Maybe bagley?
Cheick went to a bogus school, Silvio presumably doesn't have that issue. He was in Africa longer I think though and that's what they need to be sure on, classes in Africa. At least this is what I think is the case based on reading the articles that popped up.
I love how friendly this board is.
They did lose a lot of players off that team but yeah if KU starts like they did against Hays they can lose to anyone.
@3genhawk Yes. Thankfully KU has one open due to the premature departure of the stache Whitman.
HawkChamp said:
Sounds like he has done a good job of keeping up in school, which is always a question mark for some of these athletes. Would love to have him. So the main hold up is regarding his core classes right?
Yeah, whether or not they will count some classes.
I'll say it right now though, given that KU got Cheick eligible and Marvin Bagley went to two fake schools and is playing for Duke this year after reclassifying I would be pretty salty if it doesn't happen.
