I wanted Wilson in the class since last spring. He gets a mulligan for not getting it right the first time.

I mean, the staff is partially to blame too. But...that's for another day. Party is on now.

Probably some blame but at least it worked out in the end. I wonder if Michigan just beat us to the punch and won over the family and that was it. KU isn't known for hosting underclassmen visits in the spring which Michigan capitalized on, got him on and it was over shortly after. I've been saying from time to time with the changing landscape in recruiting that getting Jr's on campus early can be an advantage

Now get his ass on campus. He already missed a scrimmage.

He better score 20 in the next one to make up for it

@HighEliteMajor

That boss isn't getting a Christmas card.

Wilson to Kansas • Jun 12, 2019 07:02 PM

@BShark

I'm sure we could go through old posts from last spring about us gushing over Wilson at the time.

Less of a project? Haven't had the chance to dive into Wur

New 2019 Recruiting • Jun 12, 2019 01:53 PM

If Jalen Wilson pops for KU today, KU will have the 15th ranked class in the Country.

This will be tops in the Big-12 narrowly beating Texas Tech & Texas.

Not a bad finish after what has happened.

@BeddieKU23 I know KU was in there pretty good and I was hoping he would be a Jayhawk. Still pretty early but obviously something cause that CB train.

I agree he would have been a solid option for KU as well. We know we are going to need bigs.

@BeddieKU23 Money probably. But he has ties to every main contending school on his list except KU. I believe he is from the WVU area originally. Still has family there.

Thx I didn't dig to find if he visited or anything. Would be a quality signing for them if he does go there

2020 Recruiting • Jun 11, 2019 10:26 AM

Isiah Cottrell is trending to West Virginia. Wonder what that's about

@BeddieKU23 We were pre-season #1 this past season, unlike many, though, I didn't believe we were. But this team? I think (pre-season rankings be damned!) that we can finish as Number One.

Finishing #1 isn't out of the question. The ceiling of the team has improved despite recruiting misses. This isn't Self's best roster talent wise but there's a good chance the chemistry will be a lot better then last years squad and that could make all the difference. A lot of things need to go right.

Isaiah Moss To Kansas • Jun 10, 2019 05:42 PM

Self can go 8 deep without even playing a freshman. In today's landscape that's almost unheard of.

Isaiah Moss To Kansas • Jun 10, 2019 05:41 PM

This is great to have for competition and options. It's clear he's the type of kid that can get his own shot, can make perimeter plays (make 3's) and has plenty of experience playing in the Big-10. He can push Marcus & Ochai.

There will be games we are going to need what Moss can provide. Hopefully he's healthy, fits in, learns like a sponge and is a quality option for this team.

Isaiah Moss To Kansas • Jun 10, 2019 05:37 PM

That was quick. Goodman did know something after all, surprising

@BeddieKU23 Well I won't say no to a 40% 3-point shooter with a lot of experience, but Walker and Bilau would be nice too.

I'd rather have Walker and Bilau for those last 2 spots with Wilson but as you said 40% 3 point shooters dont grow on trees especially after the line was moved back

KU only has 10 scholarship players right now, why wouldn't KU take all 3 if all 3 wanted to pop for KU?

I'd rather have Walker, Wilson and Bilau for 2019 but if Walker to 19 is fading and we can take another I'm all for

Streaky shooter. Almost 100 starts under his belt. Iowa fans werent sad he left though. I dont think Goodman knows anything. If we need a body after Wilson decides why not. He has a lot of experience

@FarmerJayhawk Can't see Maker playing in college.

Agree here. None of them have

I agree moving the line back puts a premium on guys with unlimited range. I think this may help the most for KU with opponents who have stretch bigs. Most bigs that stretch it normally are not the natural shooters of the world, its usually something developed. It could negate some schematic advantage teams would try and use against KU- the Villanova's of the world etc.

@HighEliteMajor

Great off-season post btw.

Just an obversation • Jun 06, 2019 01:16 PM

@jayballer73

I don't get the feeling he's going back to Michigan at all. They burned bridges not telling him the coach was leaving. Not only did his coach leave, his lead recruiter did as well.

Anything can happen. We see parents being in control of the situation more then the kids all the time and recently that seems to be a theme with kids KU is recruiting.

We'll see, I think we've been snake bite too many times in this recruiting cycle to feel confident in anyone coming here which is what I'm sensing from your comments. Hopefully a decision is made soon and its a positive one

Just an obversation • Jun 06, 2019 11:30 AM

FYI North Carolina insiders feel Jalen Wilson will pick KU after his visit to UNC..

To the International Line.

Let's discuss this. Moving the 3 point line back should benefit a team such as KU which doesn't have a team full of shooters at the moment. What impact is everyone expecting this to have for the game and for KU's short and long term?
