NC st with the fewest points in the shot clock era.
Jeff Long says that the NCAA would consider reinstatement if KU announces Gassnola was a booster.
Sorry Silvio, kansas doesnt like you that much
I have the opinion they only proved the 2500 through the fbi trial. They are also holding Silvio responsible for the 20k payment Gassnola said he agreed to pay Fenny which never actually happened. Those two line up with the report. So one actual payment and one alleged payment is what Silvio is being punished for. Sad situation where alleged payments become part of a 2 yr suspension.
Even if he did prove it it doesnt change the fact he took money. In their eyes that act alone makes everything else null and void it seems
Moore would do good at d-2
ST John's is terrible. Their 20 pt scorer with a fat zero so far
Duke Vitale in full I'm having Zion's babies mode
Duke drives for layup, st John's player tries to block it, FLAGRANT even duke Vitale disagreed
Yeah your right. You just happen to get 2 nba potential kids under your control. Sure it's all coincidence. It's just like diallos guy. Achiuwa situation is no different from what my friend tells me. The bidding is out there
Hurts getting his free visit in. He owes self for all the time he has recruited him. So for that it's nice to see him following through. I have no doubts this is just a courtesy respect visit. Some may disagree but no elite kid is sniffing us with all this
Didn't go to an Adidas school. That helps
There is no reason to believe fenny. He took money. He can spin where it where he wants. He failed Silvio, the guy that was supposed to guide him to a better life. Some of that he has done, but this part is an epic fail on his part
No way we are winning today but Marcus I dont think makes a difference in the outcome. We are playing a good defensive team and Marcus cant shoot. He would have probably helped guard Culver. Now he will have 35 today
Garrett is officially out today with ankle sprain
Jeez. Fitting title
Same rumor for years because of his connections with the GM
By booster are you assuming Gassnola? He is the only one listed in the reports. Is there something else your seeing?
No Silvio got screwed but it's because Kansas basketball must live on. Cant disrupt the money here. Sad sad ruling. All of next year. Go pound sand NCAA. No rules stating thats the penalty, no transparency, no understanding of what they do. They are making examples of kids because that's what they ultimately still control. Pathetic
It's nice to know one way or the other 21 games too late.

@Texas-Hawk-10 Other than rebounding, passing, and shooting, we're pretty good.
You forgot defense. Lol
That pretty much covers it now.
I do not understand this comment from Self.
We’re just going to have to grind, lean on each other, hopefully get a little bit better in certain situations, but also, we’ve got the team that we’ve got. We’re not very big. ...
UM you have a near 7 footer who plays 6 minutes a game. Play him, not an excuse to say your not big. They could have invested the time in Dave like they have Ogbaji but they haven't.
not same team. No DG on this team
I suppose doke really was the pulse of the team. Since Michigan st it's been a slow but gradual decline. Self isnt getting what he wants from this bunch. This is not what we expected. We expected improvement as we always see. We are seeing regression. Oh well. It's up to the guys to find pride and their will to win at this point.

@BeddieKU23 at this point if KU doesnt recieve any infractions. I would would be fine with that because we would know for sure about not only this season but next.
Always grey area with this team now. It's not good

Wasn't Bowen's decided rather quickly? Or not. Wasn't Hernandez getting monthly payments, no adults involved? I really don't know. Seems so much worse than Silvio, to me of course.
Yeah his was in part because he was the ring leader of this all from the Louisville scandal. Just connecting the dots of how the cases have been ruled no matter the infraction its had the same result
Similar cases with eligibility, Hernandez, Bowen both suspended for the yr plus some into next. They both went professional after. It's only a matter of time before Silvio is the 3rd.
The NCAA is doing what they always do.

Sweet 16 AT BEST is the realistic finish for this team.
After today thats not even realistic imo
Lol moore played tonight. Must be desperate
It's a good thing I missed the game
Hernandez entered the draft. He can return but who would in that situation. I don't see this ending well for Silvio. It's not this hard. Everyone just made it that way.
Great post, and some perspective to think on. We get caught up in the season and how's its trending. Been a Great ride and I hope we are not at the end of it
He certainly isn't playing if he stays
Free KU from eligibility issues!
I was unable to see the game traveling for work overseas. Looks as if I didn't miss anything I didn't think was possible before the game. FT's, foul disparity and just being out muscled in the post. You add in the lack of shooting and you get this result on the road. Hope they have a short lived memory going to Texas now, this seems like a game that KU could let get away from them. This team lacks the makeup that usually is able to rebound on the road after a loss. We'll see though, I'm hopeful for the best
Definitely feels odd. We still have a good chance with two prospects in the game. You will not be disappointed by the two commits that didnt make the game, they are both gamers
All good points you added.
Just looking at the matchup we look a bit overmatched but I doubt it plays out that way. I'm surprised how good they are playing right now but I'm also not convinced teams such as Auburn or Miss St are that good anyway having watched their games against UK. Kenpom has Kentucky's offense 7 spots better but the defenses are around the same. I'm interested to see how Dotson responds to being guarded by Hagans who is among the best defenders in the country. He really has a knack for steals and putting pressure on point guards. If he had a shot he'd be a top 10 pick in the upcoming draft

FWIW, KU feels better about its chances with Precious than most realize.
Thanks, good news. Been a big fan of this one and seen him play a few times.
A KU win here does have some meaning as far as seeding goes. A road victory against a Top 10 team that's trending up, yes please.
There are matchup issues for KU everywhere. This is a game where Doke is needed badly.
Dotson vs Hagans is probably the matchup that can alter the course of this game the most. Hagans is on par or better a defender then our own Marcus Garrett. He puts a ton of pressure on point guards. Dotson's turnover numbers on the road are very concerning. He's going to have to play smart with the ball.
As a team, I think the difference in this game could come down to fouls/free throw shooting. If KU gets in early foul trouble or has starters sitting that's where the advantage in this game heavily favors UK. I see Kentucky putting a ton of pressure on our lack of a rim protector. I know Self loves man to man but this would be a perfect game to show a mix of some zone. Herro and Johnson are good from deep but I think it would be easier for KU to guard Hagans in a zone then it would be M2M. Just some thoughts. Would love to see the guys play free and play with energy and passion on the road, something that has really been lacking

When he's done playing he can take frans job!!
One could only hope Anyone could take his job
This is what Self said last night on Hawk Talk in regards to Grimes. In the past we've wanted Self to play his young players through growing pains. This is a great example of Self doubling down on that belief right now.
Quentin Grimes is a good player and he’s talented and he’s in a little bit of a freshman funk,” Self said during the second part of his weekly radio show. “But he’s our starter, he’s going to continue to start and we know for us to have the best chance to win over time that we’ve got to have our most talented guys playing at a high level and we think he’s more than capable of doing that.”
I laughed and almost posted it. Still haven't seen the Zion dunk tracker yet. They must be waiting for February
Brutal stretch especially on the road where we look terrible. Hopefully this ISU win was a jolt of energy for this stretch
Self is the king of the bounce back game. The Phog helped this team out tremendously last night. We still have our road woes.. unless last night was the kick in the butt this team needed. In the past the SEC challenge game has also helped turn things around. A change in common foe/atmosphere can do that.
I think Grimes had to get to this low in order for Self to pick him back up. Whatever frustrations he had last night I'm sure are self inflicted from not doing what he knows he's capable of. I have a hard time believing its something else. He just looks like he's having a hard time under pressure and living up to expectations from himself, his coaches, his family and friends. We forget these kids are young, Q is only 18. I have been hard on him but its because I know he's capable of more. I was hard on Vick last season and Selden the season before that for the same reasons.
Iowa St was KU's 6th win against a ranked team at the time they played. Pretty impressive for a team we know has very little margin for error. Self is the king of the bounce back game but I don't think last nights win changed what this team is. It certainly gives the team a pick me up going into the weekend though..
If KU goes into Rupp and wins that's the signature win of the season. We have the marquee neutral court victories but going into Rupp will have a lasting effect on voters and the media. If we are talking those "Tier 1" wins, hard to top that kind of W. No team in America is going out of conference on the road against a Top 10 team/ likely Top 4 seed in late January. It's a big time opportunity for this team. That win could be the difference between the top line and a 2/3 seed.
Visually we are not a #1 seed. I'll have what anyone is drinking if they think otherwise. However assembling a resume that no other team can match could be the difference in a year like this. We'll see, still too early.
Not possible. They never touched him. It's been an issue for weeks really. Teams are guarding Dedric with a ton of physicality and he's not getting half the calls he should.
That stat line is just awful, even worse for a guard that gets the ball on almost every possession. Outside of a steal and deflection he hit rock bottom last night. I think this is the perfect opportunity for Self to get Q in the office and hash it out. Whatever Marcus Garrett found that has transformed his season is exactly what Grimes needs.
Just feels so similar to Newman's struggles last year. We expected the world of Malik and he really disappointed for most of the season but then the light came on and look what he did for that team by season's end, indispensable. Not in the Final 4 without his heroics.
Fast forward a year and we expected the world from Grimes. Maybe Grimes and Self need a day to just clear the air and figure some things out. His play has been below expectations but we've seen time and time again how players figure it out at some point under the right motivation. I still think Self has some work to do to find what triggers Q the most. That's when he'll get the most out of him.
Agbaji has it now. Play the kid with the confidence. Interchange depending on game matchup and in-game performance. How many coaches have two kids they can push against each other like that.
Not a good look and I saw the comment. At least he had some emotion even if it wasn't positive. I'm sure he's upset about his play. Growing pains. I see him struggling to play off the ball without the ball in his hands as well as struggling how to fit with this team. So timid unless he's open and then he's rushing at the same time. Self is playing him still despite his up and down play hoping he grows through the downs to some consistency. Maybe playing Agbaji over him can light a competitive match. Certainly still seems to be mostly mental hurdles for this kid.
He certainly needs an off-season with hudy and skill development for this level. Looks lost on how to contribute.
He had his 40 minute formula for beating KU ready. They executed it for 25 minutes and then Fran was pissed. Looks like we'll get a 1 game break on Saturday at Rupp from this puppet
I agree its time. Besides his foul trouble last night Ochai played well. Grimes isn't cutting it on either side. He's hit the freshman wall yet again
