@JayHawkFanToo Yeah I know. That is what keeps me awake at night. We seem to want to make a run of the mill player look like a first rounder in the draft. We need to stymie everyone and not let someone get their confidence going. ROCK CHAALK!!!!!!
@jayballer54 Also need to watch out for 6' 4" guard Brynton Lemar. He can get hot sometimes. He has went for 25+ several times. Seems kinda inconsistent, but we know how guys can go off on us. ROCK CHALK!!!!!!
The only like opponent we had with UCD was Long Beach State. They each won their home games against each other, both in overtime. Both games played in Feb. We crushed LB State way back when in AFH. Sure hope the guys do not get over confident. Agree we should get to play a lot of our bench. Stay injury free and rested. ROCK CHALK!!!!
@jayballer54 I believe he is 6' 7" 210 pounds. Suppose to have a high energy motor. Coach Roberts has been on him. Not sure of his interest in KU.
@drgnslayr Thanks. I rebooted and it worked. Got my vote in for Frank.
@JayHawkFanToo Why do they have games on channels that some of us can not get? (TruTV). Really sucks.
I have voted for Frank every day, but now on the voting site, there is no player list with a box to check. What happened?
@nuleafjhawk I am very unhappy with the off court incidents, and very unhappy about breaking our AFH winning streak.
Very happy with 28 wins and the possibility of getting over 30 wins. Very happy with keeping our B12 conference streak. Very happy with maintaining our consecutive tourney streak. Making the FF would ease the pain of the unhappiness listed above. Winning it all would pretty much wipe away all of the unhappiness. ROCK CHALK!!!!
@Texas-Hawk-10 I sure hope you are right. But I still worry about our defense. Outside of some of the cupcakes we played early, we only held one team under 65 points this year. OU-63. We rely on our offense to out score everyone. Sooner or later that catches up with you. ROCK CHALK!!!!!!
@HawkChamp Who would we rather play in KC, Iowa St or Purdue? Tough matchup, either way. Purdue would have less fans there for sure.
@kjayhawks You just knew they would screw the B12 somehow.
@Crimsonorblue22 Lets gather around the 3 point line in AFH when we celebrate the NC. I am trying to stay positive. GO JAYHAWKS!!!!!!
@HawkChamp Looks like Michigan just became the darlings of the tourney along with Puke. They have been on a roll since their plane mishap. More power to them I guess. GO JAYHAWKS!!!!!!
@Texas-Hawk-10 OOOHHH!! I don't want to run into Notre Dame. Bonsey and their 3 point shooting would not go well for us.
@jayballer54 I believe so. I am to the point that I am not too worried about how the brackets come out. We had one flat game last year against Nova. That cost us a Final Four trip and possibly another NC. I just know we have to play every game with the very best effort we have. If we do that, all will end well. GO JAYHAWWKS!!!!!!
@drgnslayr You are right about the Josh and Wigs comparison. The advantage Josh has is he has possibly 6 games left to prove he is the greatest one and done in KU history.
We know Frank can take over games. We have seen times where Landon has been a dominant force. D'te has shown he can be a force raining threes, shutdown defense, (Buddy), Add Josh to the mix and that is a pretty salty foursome. In summary, this team has the parts to be really good. We can only hope the effort and desire is there. GO JAYHAWKS!!!!!!
@jayballer54 Unless they have changed it, I believe it has been South and East at the top. West and Midwest at the bottom in the past. Last years bracket was that way.
@HawkChamp Totally agree with you and @drgnslayr . This is the time of the year that ALL team members must give 100% for 40 minutes. 85-90% will not get it done. We are good enough to beat a middle of the pack team like TCU without one of our starters. So no excuse there. Just more effort on every play. Oregon lost a major player and only lost by 3 points to a much better team than TCU. Yes we played very well in Stillwater in a game that was not near as important as these tourney games. We won because of pride and to prove that we could. We need that same attitude going forward.
KU has enough good players to win several or more games going forward. The only question is will they have enough pride and "want to" to grind their way thru the next several weeks. I am hoping and expecting that they will. Josh should have a chip on his shoulder and will want to go out in a blaze of glory. Frank and Landon and the supporting cast should help attain that mission. Not looking forward to any more disappointments. GO JAYHAWKS!!!!!!
@jayballer54 Just hoping the B12 teams show very strong. KU, I ST, and O ST, shoot lights out from three. WV smother everyone with the press, and BU dominate the boards. Fill up at least one fourth of the sweet 16 bracket. Maybe that would shut these East Coast talking heads up once and for all. GO KU!! GO BIG 12!!!
@Blown And I absolutely hate to have to admit that you right. Please just about anyone but Puke.
@jayballer54 Watch out for Puke. Healthy and on a roll. By the way, for everyone that says these conference tourneys do not mean anything to anyone, take a look at the celebrations and happiness shown by the players that win these tourneys. And I am not talking about just the mid majors. Iowa St, Puke, and several other of the major winners acted like they had just won the NC. All of these kids have the drive, determination, and will, to win every game they play, regardless of what is at stake or how tired they will be. Us fans should appreciate that fact and relish it.
@CRH107 This fan will not get much rest from bball as I am still going to be watching a lot, just not my fav team. I guess KU is not the only team to blow big leads. SMU blew a 24 point lead and just eked out a win over ECU, a team they had swept twice by a total of 71 points this season. Sure wish Semi O. would have been a Jayhawk, since he was only 20 miles or so away from Allen Fieldhouse.
In my case, I am hoping TCU and KState play in the finals. That would be some news for ESPN talking heads. Might get 2 more B12 teams in the Dance also.
@MoonwalkMafia You make a lot of good points. The only disagreement I would have is, if you put any stock in the overall picture, any and all losses hurt. By overall picture, I mean the entire tradition and body of work by KU teams all time. I for one would love to catch and surpass Kenstucky for most wins. By early exits in the tournaments, we are hurting our chances of that happening. We need to win every game possible to maintain our rep of being one of the elite teams of all time and achieve that goal.
Just hoping all the coaches and players stay safe and healthy and injury free. And that Josh will be on a mission to make us all forget about this game. I am pretty sure Frank and Landon are, since this is their last shot. GO JAYHAWKS!!!!
@BShark So is he someone that could help us? Size? Handles? Shooter?
@HawkChamp I would not be real upset to lose the one seed. What really scares me is, no #1 has ever lost the first game. Some day it will happen. %'s bound to catch up eventually. I do not want that to be KU. We would never outlive that hanging around our neck. Every team in the Dance can get hot from 3. A flat game by their opponent and it will happen. Then every year at tourney time, that is all the talking heads would be talking about for eons to come. Even winning the first game, I would rather play the 7-10 than the 8-9. You have to win four to get to the final four no matter where you are seeded, and they all will be tough games.
With lots of rest and healing time, wishing our Hawks the very best.
@BShark At this point in time, Bragg is definitely not skilled.
@kjayhawks Mason lob was the play that made the difference. If we get that open dunk, we are up by six. May not of mattered though the way we play defense.
@jayballer54 I agree with coach and the players. We might as well win it. Not only that, this team is on track to match the 07-08 team. If they can win the next nine games, they will have the exact same record as that championship team. 37-3. Now wouldn't that be fantastic? GO JAYHAWKS!!!!
@Blown So the Big 12 only gets five teams? WOW!!!!
My take on the Big Dance is you had better bring your A game each and every game. If not, you may go home quickly, no matter who you play. There are just too many teams out there that have at least 2 or 3 very good players. If they are hot and get a few breaks, (calls), and you are a little flat, then you can get beat. I hope the past has not been forgotten. The "B" teams, UNI, VCU, etc. So I am not going to overlook Wichita St., or Mid Tenn., or the Orange, or any one else. And I am definitely not going to trash any opponent to give them even more incentive to send us home. Lets do our celebrating and tough talk after the tourney is over.
Wishing our coaches and players good health and safety and to play injury free and well. GO JAYHAWKS!!!!
@jaybate-1.0 I agree with all of what you are saying, except Landon will not be here next year.
@BShark Where is Coleby going? Will he not be a senior?
@jaybate-1.0 I agree. I watched the entire game and I still am amazed we won with Svi and DG going 2 for 18 and Josh only 1 rebound. NO WAY!!! But yes way. Just hope we have enough left to finish thru early April. Just a fab job Jayhawks!!!!
@DanR Totally agree. I don't think there are any one and done in women's bball. I do not follow it except to check on the KU team once in awhile, so there may be. But your point is spot on. If Geno is getting 2 or 3 of the top recruits every year, and they stay in school, then that is why the streak happened, and may continue on for some time.
@jayballer54 If you are referring to the Joe DiMaggio streak, it was 56, not 51.
@BeddieKU23 Has anyone heard any hard facts about where Duval is with his recruiting? Has his list changed? When he might decide? Thanks.
@Kcmatt7 Agree totally with everything you said. It just looks to me like he is not having any fun. The expressions on his face are revealing. Or maybe that is just his demeanor.
Yes our backcourt may be crowded next year, but OU is also pretty full. Anderson, James, McGusty, Odomes, Quinn, Shepherd, Strong-Moore will all be there. I am sure Trae is not afraid of any competition. His desire to win is pretty strong. I would think that would point him towards KU. At last I hope we will be more successful than OU in the years ahead.
And yes, he would be able to attract many more fans to their games, being a home town hero. But what fun is that if you are on a .500 winning team? I wonder how J. Allen is feeling now that he could have been a Jayhawk? And wow could we really use him. Free throws a problem with him also, but still.
Did you see all the empty seats last night at the OU game? Why would he want to play there when he would be assured of 16,300 rabid fans every game? OU is a football school. KU is the mecca of college basketball. OU will be better next year as they have some good young players, but KU will be great year in and year out. He said he wants to win. Easy decision.
