@jayballer67 agreed. This year could be rough. Lots of new things happening, big transition. But it wouldn't surprise me at all to see 4-5 wins in 2022 and bowling every year after.

Well on the way. It’s as talented a roster as we’ve had in a decade. Hire Leipold once (presumably) Goff is on the job. Prosper.
yeah i dont know. finishing at bottom of recruiting rankings does not really bode well. the rankings i care about look at average player rating. if you rank by the number of stars KU is always near the bottom. yes they can and will improve. i dont doubt. but i dont know about becoming a winning program consistently.
Leipold record and conference division finish (recruiting ranking in MAC):
- 2015: 5-7, 4th in division (first class)
- 2016: 2-10, 6th (9th)
- 2017: 6-6, 4th (9th)
- 2018: 10-4, 1st (12th)
- 2019: 8-5, 3rd (7th)
- 2020: 6-1, 1st (12th)
Leipold's teams consistently over perform their talent. There's a lot of promising young players on the roster now who Leipold and his staff could really mold and develop into a winning program with time.

Forgot to report back! Got Moderna #2 last Friday. Saturday felt like I got hit by a bus. Woke up in the middle of the night with chills, was pretty achy and ran a 101 fever Saturday. But! Was totally fine and resumed my regular running schedule Sunday.
Held is a good coach. Just not a fit for what we need right now. Would be up my list for OC though.
Damn Nike is cold. Heard literally this morning he was really considering Kansas.
Final 5: Leipold, Monken, Kane, Creighton, Elko.
Monken or Leipold. Kane is a really impressive guy though.

Anytime my man! It'll be tough for sure. Yesufu, Tyty, and Dave are ball dominant for sure. I think Cuffe has a long way to go to adjust. He's skipping his senior year after only playing two games as a junior. Big jump from basically a sophomore to Big 12 competition.

KU has always been in it. Lots of noise, but KU has felt pretty good all along.

This seems bad. Someone explain to me why the Supreme Court (conservative or progressive) would want more kids in jail for life? From everything I’m reading this is going against precedent even. Sotomayor seems not pleased with the decision.
The constitutionality of life without parole for minors wasn’t before the Court. Only whether it was mandatory to make a separate judgment on sentencing. Legislatures really need to take this up. This and death penalty litigation are absolute trash fires

Leipold is still #1 on my board. I’m fully prepared for the very casual football fans to hate the hire because he has the charisma of a tomato our last Buffalo hire didn’t work out. I feel very strongly whoever gets the job will retain Jones.
@Crimsonorblue22 great point. Wayne is certainly a dedicated family man.
@BShark my other thought today was why not Wayne Simien? Has been around the program forever, an extremely charismatic dude, and bleeds crimson and blue. It may be the case he feels called to be chaplain and has no desire to coach, but I’d at least ask if he wanted to interview.
If Bill thinks he’s the best for the job, hard to disagree.

Oh yeah there’s a 0% chance Monken would run flexbone triple option at KU. Rumor is he’s got his OC in the bag to bring along but it’s a bit flimsy right now. Looking more spread option.

VERY. And KU’s posted roster doesn’t capture it. They advanced everyone from last year. Freshman to sophomore, sophomore to junior, and so on. In reality they all are still exactly what they were last year eligibility-wise. So Daniels is a true freshman, Gardner a sophomore, etc.

KU is saying he’d be Jalen’s backup. He could play beside Martin or at the 5 but I agree with Tex, can’t play Bishop and Dave together.

Gut says Texas. There’s significant pressure from his circle to stay home though.
I would pump the brakes on Cuffe being a contributor next season. Blair basically didn't play this season so he's going from two years of HS ball to Kansas. I would really consider seeing if he wants to redshirt.
Is official. So free agency is a permanent part of the most popular NCAA sports. Most other sports have always had immediate eligibility, just it was mostly out of sight, out of mind.
Student athletes in fall/winter sports have until July 1 to hit the portal and be eligible immediately, will be May 1 starting next year.
