1st half was 5 TT players vs 2 KU players. Braun is horrible today. Defensive interior sucks. 🤯

The betting spread was 6.5 in favor of KU. Few thought it would be a blowout. Were it not for the last 9 or so minutes of the 1st half, it appears the margin of victory would have been much greater. I’m very happy with the 11 point win against OSU at their place!

UCLA cancelled it’s 2nd consecutive game due to COVID infections. Next game vs. Arizona next week. Hopefully they’re totally recovered by then.

Given the pre-Christmas game KU record in these games (and the Covid threat), not a bad deal. Players still get a free trip home, too.

@Kcmatt7 - you were right! Found great corner seats about an hour early.

We were at the SFAU game and my opinion, uninformed as it is, is that they collapsed 3 players to the defensive middle on every drive or pass to the post. There was simply no way to get the ball to the hoop or out to the shooters. When Dave had it, it took to long to pass back out, with defenders returning to the shooters in time to defend. Lots of grabbing and hacking by SFAU (and lots of foul calls as a result). On offense, SFAU simply bulled their way to the basket - shoulders were lowered and elbows hooked to get clear. KU was simply unprepared for that aggressive style. I’m sure the Hawks will see it again.

We bought 2 GA tix for this game through KU Athletics. With the students gone, we’re wondering of seating will be tight? I know we’ll have to get there mucho early, but I’d like my wife to see all the Fieldhouse sights without fighting over seating. Thoughts?

Just curious as to y’all’s thoughts, but Big Dave needs playing time to prepare for next year. If he doesn’t start, he will only get time as a sub for Doke, when HCBS goes with 2 bigs or when KU is in a blowout.

Doke needs to play for his value to the team and his Pro development.

IMHO, Self is starting 2 bigs to get Dave court time. KU needs him next year and starting him is his development time.

Doke only played 27 minutes today, so if he can stay out of foul trouble at OSU, KU should prevail. The other guys are used to that many minutes. But..... KU has had significant trouble there.

Looking at the end of the game on the ESPN site, Self was right in the middle of the brawl and had two of the biggest KU guys by their jerseys (one in each hand, SDS & McCormack, then Garrett and SDS)) and controlled them very well. Liberace struggled with just one guy. HCBS has been hitting the weights!
