4 bad trips down the court when we had that 6 pt lead...gave it away
Early returns....starting out disjointed and sloppy..........and cold from 3.....those shots didn't look good at all.

@kjayhawks Agreed that we can still lose one more game and tie for the CC. We then have to beat Tech and have Tech lose at WVU. Certainly a scenario you could see happening. But, man, first we have to play better. Your guess is as good as mine as to whether that will happen.
@HighEliteMajor Certainly worth considering. Something clearly is going on with this team. One aspect, I believe, is that the lack of depth only allows Self to "punish" players who don't put forth the effort so much. And as several have pointed out, a lineup with Garrett and Mitch leaves us with only 3 offensive threats on the floor.
@HighEliteMajor I saw that as well.........I also went back to JBs comment. Might be part of the chemistry thing that Self mentioned. It might explain a lot.
Going to be tough now that Tech has taken control. If we lose in Ames...we'll be 2 games back. Regardless of where we are in the standings........the bigger picture question is......when will we start playing better?

@KUSTEVE I agree with you. However, maybe Self felt he had to do that if Vick and Malik weren't giving maximum effort?
Sounds like he might be a bit like Garrett?

@Texas-Hawk-10 That prediction is as good as any. But this is so crazy.....we just lost what, in theory, was the easiest game in the last half of our schedule. It is difficult to figure out what might happen....it's like logic does not apply here.
We are all fretting about our losses.....but as we have seen the B12 will continue to knock each other off. A lot of games to be played. I still think 5 losses wins it.......but heck it could be 6.
@betterfireE Maybe. I am now worried about the Texas game in AFH....improvement overall and Bamba......Heck, who am I kidding? We are worried about all the remaining games.....home or away!
@CRH107 I think that may be a factor.....a lack of effort does not get you benched....at least for very long. And.........Svi may have given a good effort.......but he had a bad game......those missed layups in the first half really hurt and he couldn't hit from 3 all day. Even though he was cold from 3........those layups could have made a big difference.

I have been thinking the same thing this afternoon....that Tech game could end up being the deciding factor.

@jaybate-1.0 Vick's disappearance is hard to figure. I literally forgot he was on the floor in the first 5 mins. or so of the game. We certainly didn't come ready to play...at least in the first half.
@Texas-Hawk-10 That is confounding. Winning at WVU and then losing at home to a 3 conference win team. Hard to figure.
Well, giving up 46 points and getting in too big of a hole did us in. Too much to overcome with a much better 2nd half. We let them get that lead..........could not cut into it when we had a chance to close the first half. Then, OSU made some really tough shots in the 2nd half when they had to. We dug ourselves into too much of a hole. We came back to the pack now.
We are going to have to have a quick start in the 2nd half if we are going to win this game, IMO. Several chances at the end of the half to get it to single digits and we couldn't.....that could be our undoing here. Sorry for the negativity, but I have chalked this up as loss #3.

I think our defense.......especially the zone that Weber couldn't figure out did contribute to holding them to 57. I also think we saw them want to beat us so bad........they either played tight or were too jazzed up........we've seen it in Manhattan, and IMO at times in Ames. I also think we see the opposite effect in AFH..........teams aren't expected to win so they play free and easy.......and sometimes give us a really good game, and at times.........beat us.
@BShark That is good recruiting info. It tells me that he is good at identifying under-recruited players........I think most teams would take Brown, Wade, and Diarra...don't you? He is also a pretty good coach for getting what he does out of the players he gets. But they always have a couple of down periods during the season which "dooms" them....pun intended.
They looked really bad against the zone.
I was worried the 70% in the first half was going to be balanced out in the 2nd....haven't scored in the 2nd half with over 5 mins. gone.
@BShark Like you said........just imagine the lead we could have without so many turnovers......could have put it away!

@wrwlumpy Yes. They are. If we win...we'll be in good shape ahead of everyone else and give them their 4th loss. If they win, and the other games go according to how you would expect........we will have 5 teams tied with 3 losses......what a logjam.
@HighEliteMajor No....If I were an opposing coach, I would have made Doke prove that he could make some FTs.

Well, I was going to ask if it were too much for me to ask if we could win by at least 18. They outplayed us in the 2nd half. But given our recent struggles at home....we'll take it.

OU getting kicked early at Alabama. Took a break from Big 12 games and was watching a little of the UVA Duke game. UVA plays some tough defense. Bunch of guys I've never heard of ..........reminds me of the line in the movie Major League..."Who are these f-----g guys?" That Bennett can coach.

@BeddieKU23 I don't think he is ready either. But I think he will go. NBA drafts on potential and I think his combination of size, quick feet, and touch (though unrefined) will be enough.
