SMith fouled DG

Tied.......damn need to block out. Their keeping the ball out of DGs hands

Wish Mitch would have gathered himself there..........

8 pt lead to 3....just like that. I'm dying here...

Not sure what Doke was doing there around the rim....could have been a 10 pt. lead...instead they get a break going and get a foul. Big exchange.

We need to go inside to Doke.

Evans with a slop that went in.

Would have taken a 4 pt lead at halftime before the game started. But, not a good finish to the half given our 11 pt lead earlier. Could have been worse had they not thrown it away on their last possession.

Much more upside than downside to this game. Win..and we clinch a tie. Lose and we still control our own destiny. I did not think we would be in this position a few weeks ago.

@drgnslayr Isn't the issue that any player that accepted money is potentially ineligible and thus what to do about wins during the season that player participated?

@Kcmatt7 In one, JJ's mom was mentioned.

@HighEliteMajor Did not want to see that, but given the previous rhetoric, not surprising. Many players and teams affected. What are they going to do? Vacate wins from many, many teams last year? Hold a bevy of players out of the Tourney? This is a mess that has been years in the making.

@BeddieKU23 Right I meant 12-6. Thanks

I like our chances Saturday. Especially if Evans is not at full strength. He didn't look good last night. But of course, the worried fan in me is now concerned about having to win at OSU as well. The way this conference beats each other up, a possible scenario is: We lose on Sat. and at OSU, Tech loses to WVU, KSU and WVU win out, and there is a FOUR way tie at 10-6. Not likely, but nothing would surprise me this year.

KU/OU Recap • Feb 20, 2018 09:09 PM

@wissox You could maybe make that case with Oregon, but although we certainly were capable of beating Nova, they won the NC. Also, I think we were out coached in that one.

Keenan Evans is day to day • Feb 20, 2018 12:46 AM

Day to Day sounds like he won't play against OSU unless they start to lose.

KU/OU Recap • Feb 20, 2018 12:40 AM

That was awesome! Really made me chuckle. I think I'm the only one that doesn't mind Vitale, though.

Summary: They fouled more due to our driving vs. them shooting 3s. This affected the FT shooting numbers as well. The FT shooting difference was skewed somewhat due to the last few minutes. Due to their style of play, I saw many grabs, holds, etc. that were not called on WVU. IMO, this is typical for a WVU game. The last 8 mins. ....we got the benefit of the calls, no question. I can understand why Huggins was so upset. The referring is inconsistent. Over the long haul it should even out. "And that' all I have to say about that."

The Evolution of Doke • Feb 18, 2018 02:59 AM

@Gunman Notice that he said that UNC was not the target of the FBI...just because they aren't the target doesn't mean that they, along with others could face sanctions. I think he chose his words very carefully, there.

Thank you Baylor! They won despite 3 missed FTs and a turnover in the last 25 seconds. Now we can potentially win it outright.....or we could still potentially lose at Tech and still tie.

@truehawk93 Geez, that's horrible.

Baylor could have been up 9 or at half..instead they turned it over and are only up 4.....might be the difference in this game.

Great win! Go Bears!

@DCHawker We have missed a lot of wide open 3s...

They are beating us by out shooting us from 3 by a wide margin.....who would have thought that?Maybe that will reverse the last 8 mins.

Surely, they can't continue to hit 3s like this.....I think they are 9 of 17...with some tough ones that have gone through.

Would like to have made a basket at the end of the half, but all in all, a tie is not bad given the way they have shot the ball from 3.

@FarmerJayhawk Ahhh....thanks

2019 Recruiting • Feb 17, 2018 05:34 PM

@blackmild33 Coming off the bench?

So I think it's time for sure • Feb 17, 2018 01:27 PM

I think we have 10 good teams. No bad ones. That's what makes it tough. We don't have any great teams. I don't think you could say any of our teams are final four threats. That doesn't mean one of them couldn't get in there....we could for sure if we are hot at the right time. You could say that about a lot of teams. I think MSU, Purdue, and maybe even OSU have shown to be better than those at the top of the B12. Now, the B10, for instance, has some teams that aren't so hot. That is where the B12 is stronger than the other conferences. IMO

Does the hairy mountaineer even go to road games?

NCAA Basketball Corruption? • Feb 17, 2018 01:45 AM

@bmensch1 You raise a point that I have been thinking about...are they going to gut March Madness for next year? One wouldn't think so....it makes too much money.

NCAA Basketball Corruption? • Feb 16, 2018 11:52 PM

@Statmachine I sure hope your source is right!

NCAA Basketball Corruption? • Feb 16, 2018 02:55 PM

@mayjay Good point. The players /families accepting stuff without the coaches knowing about it.

NCAA Basketball Corruption? • Feb 16, 2018 12:45 PM

I don't know why anyone would think we are immune. The shoe company money is out there. Maybe a coach does not have to be directly involved. Maybe it's willful blindness. Maybe it's an assistant coach that knows something. I don't know. But some of those guys....Selby, Cliff, JJ, Wigs, .....all are potential to get us in trouble. I am worried for the sport (not just KU) that I love.

NCAA Basketball Corruption? • Feb 16, 2018 02:31 AM

I think this will be big. The Feds aren't going to get involved and then walk away without making a lot of noise. I tend to believe that the magnitude will be what the article says.

#14 is still within reach • Feb 15, 2018 02:11 AM

@truehawk93 Motown? They're playing in Detroit? Just kidding.

#14 is still within reach • Feb 15, 2018 02:10 AM

@Crimsonorblue22 I had forgotten that.......feel better now.

#14 is still within reach • Feb 15, 2018 01:46 AM

@HighEliteMajor I would take that too.

#14 is still within reach • Feb 14, 2018 08:47 PM

@BeddieKU23 I am worried about a scenario where we need to win at OSU to tie for the conference.........but, of course, let's get to that point first........

#14 is still within reach • Feb 14, 2018 08:46 PM

@wissox They lose to us and one more. We can only lose one more time....but have to beat Tech. In this scenario we both have 5 losses.

THE SKY WASN'T FALLING • Feb 14, 2018 06:03 PM

@HighEliteMajor I think the reason for optimism is that Vick and Newman played well....we're all hopeful that this will continue. We, as fans, do tend to overreact to both losses and wins, though...no question. Your are correct....several decent games in a row against better teams (like the next 2) might be more objective evidence that we have improved.

#14 is still within reach • Feb 14, 2018 05:58 PM

We might be able to lose one more game...but not to Tech. I think there is a decent chance they lose one of their other road games. But Tech looks like a must win......

Devonte Graham • Feb 14, 2018 01:32 PM

@BeddieKU23 Yes. I thought he put up some shots last night just because he thought he needed to put up shots. Some were good shots that he missed, but quite a few, I thought, were not good shots to take.

Well, we limped our way in by missing those FTs...but a good win

Big possession review. Those missed FTs......damn

We can't make a bucket down the stretch....lead down to 6

@DCHawker Yes...I was about to say the same thing....and then a turnover and quick foul to put them on the line. Up12 but several bad plays in a row

Graham can't hit anything........and he's throwing a lot of shots up there.

@BeddieKU23 Yes...he did.
