@wissox yeah Purdue looks good and ISU cooling off.
@Hawk8086 yep. As the xavier-florida st and wvu-notre dame games proved, one bad shooting game for you and a good night for your opponent and you will be going home.
@globaljaybird zone is the best answer against their big guys.
Figures that the one year Villanova doesn't choke in the first weekend they beat KU. But, that's the tourney for ya.
@BeddieKU23 last year is still fresh in my memory. We have had many disappointments too - don't feel sorry for them.
@Hawk8086 yep. It takes a really special group to do that.
@globaljaybird yep. They're done
Wow!!
@Bwag i would go for a drive to the basket
And there it is!
Got to score here.
@kjayhawks again, shooting themselves in the foot.
Wisconsin really needs a bucket here
Wisky has really shot itself in the foot with fouling and missed free throws
@Blown at nova.
@Blown man, people forget about Virginia - nova beat them at home on a buzzer beater.
Well, wisky had a nice first half but it looks like nova is going to advance. Foul problems have been an issue
@KirkIsMyHinrich yeah big 12 has owned the ACC.
@BShark it doesn't matter what they did during the season. Teams often play much different during the tourney. We will get their best shot
Go Huggy bear!!
Watching Huggy Bear and Notre Dame. WVU off to a great start leading 10-0.
This is way too much Dr. Phil for me for one day. Looking forward to the good games tomorrow.
Honestly, I'm a little worried about Michigan State after seeing how they played. Yes, Miami really struggled to score as many of us already knew and MSU is young, but they were very alert and active from the midway point of the 1st half to the end. This game has 1st weekend upset written all over it. For some reason, Self always struggles against Izzo, who seems to be one of the best at getting his teams primed for a deep run, ala 2015. Just hoping our guys can squeeze this one out and move on to KC. Its going to be a battle.
Moneke is a really good player. The announcers were saying that he will be in contention for Big West poy next year.
@BShark they are playing as well as they have all year. Our guys will have their hands full.
@Jayrawks1 ouch
Tyler self!!!!
What a shot by Svi!!
I am going to pretend that Svi didn't do that.
@DCHawker much of that is hitting shots.
That was Frank Mason ladies and gentlemen: the player of the year
Here we go boys!!!
@kjayhawks yeah nova was down most of the first half
@Texas-Hawk-10 just get the win. Better today than Sunday
Kind of how the first half has gone. Had five chances on that trip
@hawkmoon2020 part of it is gambling. Schneider got that layup because Frank went for the steal
@DoubleDD the first was a charge. Not sure about the second.
@BeddieKU23 it's like clockwork isn't it?
Well, looks like the first half is the sloppy half
@DoubleDD yep slow start.
@Bwag yeah missing open shots.
@BShark they do but they are also playing Texas southern
@KirkIsMyHinrich they are hot in march. They look like a final four contender
@jayballer54 both teams shot terribly tonight. Moneke is a pretty good player - I believe tonight was his 14th double double.
I agree with @bmensch1 - no need to use too much energy on Friday, only enough to secure a win. I could care less about margin of victory (as long as it isnt a nail biter of course). A win is a win in the tourney. Survive and advance.
@JayHawkFanToo that is a mystery to me. This isn't his first experience with big boy ball.
@kjayhawks yep. Frank and Landen have "senior urgency" like what Perry did.
@dylans yeah, I don't feel the same urgency with Devonte. Appears as though he is coasting at times.
@DCHawker apparently the team doesn't know that shots behind the arc are worth more than shots inside the arc. It is frustrating watching the same basic, fundamental error every game.
It makes me wonder what they talk about in film review.
@drgnslayr over helping is something I have been talking about all year. Svi, Devonte and Lagerald always go way too far towards the ball and leave their man. Im telling you, Self must teach this because there is no rhyme or reason to continually give up open threes and not do anything about it. Not only do they give up open shots, the over help creates gaps in the defense that are very susceptible to dribble penetration.
This is a veteran team. If we haven't seen anything different by now, we aren't going to see anything different in the tourney. This is so simple and obvious that the only conclusion one can draw is Self wants them to do that.
@HighEliteMajor 2014 UConn Huskies? Villanova last year? Those three are pretty similar to our team. I still won't pick them to win it all, but this team isnt really physically different.
