@wissox yeah Purdue looks good and ISU cooling off.

Day 3 Tournament Games • Mar 19, 2017 02:42 AM

@Hawk8086 yep. As the xavier-florida st and wvu-notre dame games proved, one bad shooting game for you and a good night for your opponent and you will be going home.

Day 3 Tournament Games • Mar 19, 2017 02:29 AM

@globaljaybird zone is the best answer against their big guys.

Day 3 Tournament Games • Mar 18, 2017 10:30 PM

Figures that the one year Villanova doesn't choke in the first weekend they beat KU. But, that's the tourney for ya.

Day 3 Tournament Games • Mar 18, 2017 09:21 PM

@BeddieKU23 last year is still fresh in my memory. We have had many disappointments too - don't feel sorry for them.

Day 3 Tournament Games • Mar 18, 2017 09:16 PM

@Hawk8086 yep. It takes a really special group to do that.

Day 3 Tournament Games • Mar 18, 2017 09:12 PM

@globaljaybird yep. They're done

Day 3 Tournament Games • Mar 18, 2017 09:12 PM

Day 3 Tournament Games • Mar 18, 2017 09:05 PM

@kjayhawks again, shooting themselves in the foot.

Day 3 Tournament Games • Mar 18, 2017 09:02 PM

Wisconsin really needs a bucket here

Day 3 Tournament Games • Mar 18, 2017 08:48 PM

Wisky has really shot itself in the foot with fouling and missed free throws

Day 3 Tournament Games • Mar 18, 2017 08:32 PM

@Blown at nova.

Day 3 Tournament Games • Mar 18, 2017 08:30 PM

@Blown man, people forget about Virginia - nova beat them at home on a buzzer beater.

Day 3 Tournament Games • Mar 18, 2017 08:29 PM

Well, wisky had a nice first half but it looks like nova is going to advance. Foul problems have been an issue

Day 3 Tournament Games • Mar 18, 2017 06:27 PM

@KirkIsMyHinrich yeah big 12 has owned the ACC.

@BShark it doesn't matter what they did during the season. Teams often play much different during the tourney. We will get their best shot

Day 3 Tournament Games • Mar 18, 2017 06:14 PM

Go Huggy bear!!

Day 3 Tournament Games • Mar 18, 2017 04:16 PM

Watching Huggy Bear and Notre Dame. WVU off to a great start leading 10-0.

Josh Suspended For 1 Game • Mar 18, 2017 06:04 AM

This is way too much Dr. Phil for me for one day. Looking forward to the good games tomorrow.

Honestly, I'm a little worried about Michigan State after seeing how they played. Yes, Miami really struggled to score as many of us already knew and MSU is young, but they were very alert and active from the midway point of the 1st half to the end. This game has 1st weekend upset written all over it. For some reason, Self always struggles against Izzo, who seems to be one of the best at getting his teams primed for a deep run, ala 2015. Just hoping our guys can squeeze this one out and move on to KC. Its going to be a battle.

Classy UCDavis player • Mar 18, 2017 05:56 AM

Moneke is a really good player. The announcers were saying that he will be in contention for Big West poy next year.

Day 2 Tournament Thread • Mar 18, 2017 03:04 AM

@BShark they are playing as well as they have all year. Our guys will have their hands full.

BIPOY and the Hawks vs Donkeys Game Thread • Mar 18, 2017 01:05 AM

BIPOY and the Hawks vs Donkeys Game Thread • Mar 18, 2017 12:25 AM

What a shot by Svi!!

BIPOY and the Hawks vs Donkeys Game Thread • Mar 17, 2017 11:43 PM

I am going to pretend that Svi didn't do that.

BIPOY and the Hawks vs Donkeys Game Thread • Mar 17, 2017 11:34 PM

@DCHawker much of that is hitting shots.

BIPOY and the Hawks vs Donkeys Game Thread • Mar 17, 2017 11:32 PM

That was Frank Mason ladies and gentlemen: the player of the year

BIPOY and the Hawks vs Donkeys Game Thread • Mar 17, 2017 11:26 PM

Here we go boys!!!

BIPOY and the Hawks vs Donkeys Game Thread • Mar 17, 2017 11:20 PM

@kjayhawks yeah nova was down most of the first half

BIPOY and the Hawks vs Donkeys Game Thread • Mar 17, 2017 11:16 PM

@Texas-Hawk-10 just get the win. Better today than Sunday

BIPOY and the Hawks vs Donkeys Game Thread • Mar 17, 2017 11:15 PM

Kind of how the first half has gone. Had five chances on that trip

BIPOY and the Hawks vs Donkeys Game Thread • Mar 17, 2017 11:10 PM

@hawkmoon2020 part of it is gambling. Schneider got that layup because Frank went for the steal

BIPOY and the Hawks vs Donkeys Game Thread • Mar 17, 2017 11:09 PM

@DoubleDD the first was a charge. Not sure about the second.

BIPOY and the Hawks vs Donkeys Game Thread • Mar 17, 2017 11:09 PM

@BeddieKU23 it's like clockwork isn't it?

BIPOY and the Hawks vs Donkeys Game Thread • Mar 17, 2017 11:07 PM

Well, looks like the first half is the sloppy half

BIPOY and the Hawks vs Donkeys Game Thread • Mar 17, 2017 11:00 PM

@DoubleDD yep slow start.

BIPOY and the Hawks vs Donkeys Game Thread • Mar 17, 2017 10:59 PM

@Bwag yeah missing open shots.

Day 2 Tournament Thread • Mar 17, 2017 09:52 PM

@BShark they do but they are also playing Texas southern

Day 2 Tournament Thread • Mar 17, 2017 06:25 PM

@KirkIsMyHinrich they are hot in march. They look like a final four contender

Ok, now guys • Mar 16, 2017 01:40 AM

@jayballer54 both teams shot terribly tonight. Moneke is a pretty good player - I believe tonight was his 14th double double.

I agree with @bmensch1 - no need to use too much energy on Friday, only enough to secure a win. I could care less about margin of victory (as long as it isnt a nail biter of course). A win is a win in the tourney. Survive and advance.

"Gotta Tighten Some Things Up" • Mar 15, 2017 06:26 PM

@JayHawkFanToo that is a mystery to me. This isn't his first experience with big boy ball.

The suspense!!! • Mar 15, 2017 05:10 PM

@kjayhawks yep. Frank and Landen have "senior urgency" like what Perry did.

@dylans yeah, I don't feel the same urgency with Devonte. Appears as though he is coasting at times.

"Gotta Tighten Some Things Up" • Mar 14, 2017 11:09 PM

@DCHawker apparently the team doesn't know that shots behind the arc are worth more than shots inside the arc. It is frustrating watching the same basic, fundamental error every game.

It makes me wonder what they talk about in film review.

"Gotta Tighten Some Things Up" • Mar 14, 2017 11:08 PM

@drgnslayr over helping is something I have been talking about all year. Svi, Devonte and Lagerald always go way too far towards the ball and leave their man. Im telling you, Self must teach this because there is no rhyme or reason to continually give up open threes and not do anything about it. Not only do they give up open shots, the over help creates gaps in the defense that are very susceptible to dribble penetration.

This is a veteran team. If we haven't seen anything different by now, we aren't going to see anything different in the tourney. This is so simple and obvious that the only conclusion one can draw is Self wants them to do that.

KU Buckets Bracket Challenge! • Mar 14, 2017 05:32 PM

@HighEliteMajor 2014 UConn Huskies? Villanova last year? Those three are pretty similar to our team. I still won't pick them to win it all, but this team isnt really physically different.
