My point was that U.K. offered the same as KU and he ended up with the good guys. I'll take it...🍾
ESPN is just pinping out the game. Lunardi predicting a win by UNC while the main page predicts a Duke sweep...🎭 :shit:
Vegas stated as a pick and now is OSU by 1 point. I will take KU and the points for the win, that is KU wins on a close game; however, I hope I am wrong and KU wins going away.
Mario played mostly SG so if we are talking about pure PG he would not be part of the group; however, RussRob should be. He is arguably the most unheralded player in the '08 team but without him KU does not win the Championship. Hinrich played PG, SG and SF and was one of the more versatile players ever at KU.
Diallo, Udoka, Wiggins...
It is. IPads don't show it either.
Zion is a beast. It would be great to have him at KU; Duke has the snobbery factor going for them and Kentucky the NBA pipeline but we have beaten UK before. I am not sure if KU has gone after the same prospects although Duval would certainly be one.
You are asking a specific question for which there is no specific answer, it is a matter of what your preference is...kind of ...Red Pill or Blue Pill. All I offer is a choice....sounds familiar?
A few weeks ago I was visiting with a UConn fan and he said, I wish UConn was more like KU. At UConn we enjoy the Title for while and then spend the next few years in between living vicariously through our memories and talking about how to get rid of our coach and get one that will get us conference titles and to the NCAA consistently.
In short, it depends on whether you want to follow a team that is consistently good and wins conference titles and and occasional National Tilte and keeps you happy the great majority of the time except for a couple of week in March, or one that elates you a couple of weeks in March every 4 or 5 years and then you don't necessarily suffer but not necessarily enjoy the rest of the time either.
You are trying to have people say that having UConn record is better because that is your personal preference but not everybody necessarily agrees with you and there is no right or wrong answer. Frankly, I prefer the first, i.e. KU, but then it is my opinion and again, it cannot be right or wrong since it is just an opinion, i.e. my own personal preference.
This team has a different DNA, it is built to never give up and the players seem to be in a mission. Hopefully it will not require last minute heroics! We are in a mission from God.jpg ↗ .
Again, read my post. Some of it has to do on what your role is on the team. If you are the "go to" player that has to take the shot regardless, chances are a fair number of the shots will not be ideal. If you have a good team that can move the ball well and get you open and you are not the primary, but one of several scoring options, chances are that your shot selection will be better and hence a better percentage. The second case is where Mason fits, several other players that can score from outside and hence a better shot selection' Devonte and Svi have taken more 3 point attempts than Mason.
Curry and Thompson combined to shoot 3-22 from 3 last night and the Warriors lost to barely over .500 Chicago. I don't believe they will continue to shoot 14% and they will revert to the meant in the 40s soon enough. Unfortunately and unlike the NBA, in the NCAA you lose one game and you are out. Mason has had off-shooting games before and the team picked up the slack and won anyway.
In reality faces are one of the more vulnerable parts of the body, one punch can break an eye socked, cheek, nose or jaw; all very serious injuries. On the other hand the top of the head is one of the hardest and it is basically like armor. Rule 1 of street fighting, if you see a punch coming towards your face lower your head and let him hit you on the top of the head...you will smart for a while but the other party will likely break his hand. In practice, easier said than done unless you have practiced before.
That wording has been around for a while and they override all the time anyway.
No question OSU us playing well but most of their wins have been against the bottom half of the conference...swept by Baylor, swept by ISU, split with WVU and tomorrow...swept by KU...😊
Conversation between coach and referee...
Coach: Hey ref, we are not getting any calls...
Ref: I call the like I see them, now sit down or you might get a "T"
Coach: Can you give me a "T" for what I am thinking?
Ref: I cannot give you a "T" for what you are thinking...that would be silly...
Coach: I am thinking you are an idiot!
Ref: "T"
I understand what you are saying but you have the wrong analogy. College is the time where players are still learning and improving but not quite at their peak, particularly those that stay only one year. In the NBA players are pretty much at a steady state after a couple of years.
Mason has become not only a better shooter but a more efficient one and you will notice he is now more selective on the shots he takes. Also the role he plays has an effect on the shooting; his current shooting is a reflection of the overall improvement and his role in this year's team. His shooting has remained steady through the 30 games played this season.
You might have a better argument with Jackson who started the season shooting so poorly from the 3 that we cringed whe he took a long shot, but in the last 11 games, he has shot over 50% from the 3.
I short, I would expect Mason to continue shooting 50% from the 3 going forward since this is what he has been doing all year. Can he have a subpar game or two when he shoots a lower percentage? Absolutely, but regression to the mean would indicate that the longer KU plays the more likely his percentage will be around 50%.
This thread is going in circles and becoming repetitive and confrontational.
Perhaps this would be a good time to end it and move on to newer and more productive threads.
Garmin is doing great and expanding; a lot of the technology in cell phones probably originated with Garmin. Also they manufacture navigation systems for airplanes and ships. Keep in mind that many phones use position based on cell tower location and if you are out of signal you cannot navigate since they do not have true GPS chips. Even the iPad does not have a GPS chip unless you buy it from a cell provider and specify you want the GPS chip.
Keep in mind that only seniors are eligible for this particular award. The better players are likely freshmen or sophomores. Karnowski is a very good player and deserving of the nomination; you should watch him play sometime. I personally believe Mason is the best but I am most familiar with him..
I live about a mile away from that place which is just East from Olathe South HS and about one mile away from Garmin Headquarters and this is why it is popular with employees of that company.
I had been to Austin's in the past and their feature used to be a taco bar that eventually went away because we have now so many great Mexican restaurants. We stopped for dinner maybe 3 weeks ago and the service was poor and we had to send the food back because the fries looked like they had been reheated several times and they were soaked in oil and looked like a big lump that was inedible. We decided we would not be going back anytime soon as we have much better sports bars in the area.
I drove by a few times since it reopened and the place appears to be packed; I imagine people showing support and some curiosity seekers.

@JayHawkFanToo not if the sample size was his entire career. What is his 4 year average?
What he did in previous years would only help establish a progress/improvement trend but would not be representative of how good he is now. He has obviously improved quite a bit even from las year and he has 30 games this season to evaluate what his 3 point true average is and now it sits right at 50%.
You have it wrong stating that Mason shooting 50% from the 3 is an anomaly and 40% is his average. His average over 30 games and 134 3 point attempts IS 50%, this is a large, season long sample and not an anomaly. The law of averages or return to the mean indicates that he is more likely to shoot 50% from the 3 than 40%...which would be the anomaly.
If KSU misses the tournament and with Currie gone Weber is likely toast.
KSU and Texas Tech live to fight another day, TCU just about done.
Wake Forest will take the win over Louisville; great win for Manning.
Don't forget Yao Ming, His feet just could not handle his size.
Weber playing for his job and I am not sure this is a good or bad thing...players might want him gone...
This is really bad news. He will have played less than one half season in 3 years and the comparison to Oden will start soon. What an incredible but injury prone talent. Hoping he recovers and has a long and injury free career.
Five teams are pretty much locked in. TCU, Tech and KSU play each other and depending how it goes and how far into the tournament each team advances, I would think that at least one of the 3 will make it...and maybe two. The Big 12 has been the strongest conference all year and if a 14-14, 4-12 Clemson teams is still being considered, I can see where one or even two Big 12 have to be considered as well.
Coach Self has indicated in the past that he has some close and long term relationships with NBA scouts and NBA teams and he gets what I would call... off-the-record and very candid assessments of where every players stands and then he talks to the players and recommends one way or the other. If I recall correctly, Marcus was going pro after his junior year but when Self heard that teams were even more interested in Markieff, he recommended that he leave as well and he ended up getting drafted ahead or Marcus.
I would think the loss to Stanford was one due to superior size, wouldn't you agree?
Beyond pathetic.
You completely missed my point. Louisville might be 1.3 miles closer but Chicago is in Illinois where Coach Self still has a big following, where former KU player Kirk Heinrich is beloved and last and more important where KU has the largest alumni base in the country after KC and Dallas and could have filled the arena whereas Louisville is a stone throw away from Lexington, the home of our Blue Blood Royalty rival, Kentucky and where local KU fans can probably fill one half of one local sports bar.
I personally could have flown to Chicago from KC for around $100 round trip but Louisville was more like $500 and hotels scarcer and more expensive; I know it made a big difference to the fans. I know Coach Self was very diplomatic about it but seemed surprised KU was not sent to Chicago...we all were.
I was only referring to having a good relationship with the players and not the...not coaching much...part.
Marshall did confirm that UCLA contacted his agent while WSU was in the Final Four but he would not talk to them while WSU was still playing in the tournament. MU also approached him and I am sure he got a good laugh out of it.
The twins have both done well for and by themselves. Great to see KU players succeeding in the NBA.
Do we really know how much coaching or if he does any at all? I got the impression that he did a lot of recruit visits and as @Crimsonorblue22 indicated helps the kids off the court but not necessarily a lot of coaching.
I am not and I have not said that the committee purposefully tries to hurt Kansas; however, there is no question that East Cost teams get more favorable placement and in the process other teams get less favorable seeding/locations.
Of course no one can prove that this happens because, and unlike professional sports for example, there is no objective and devoid of human intervention process to create the brackets. In the NBA, NFL and Major Baseball the records and well defined tie breakers determine who plays who and where the games are played. The NCAA has "guidelines" for selection and these can be subjectively interpreted and also overridden by committee members and as such can be deemed to be "defensible."
I gave you two concrete examples related to KU where the committee overrode the guidelines and KU ended up in a less favorable setting. Again, I did not and I am not saying that it caused KU loses but it created a less favorable situation than what KU earned by its seasons record...wouldn't you agree?
There is no way in the world that you will convince me that KU, the overall #1 seed should have been in the south playing in DesMoines and Louisville instead of being in the Midwest playing in Oklahoma City and Chicago where KU has a huge alumni base last tournament.
Also, WSU was ranked as high as top 10, never dropped off the top 25 and was top 20 at selection time and yet ended up as a #11 seed when it should not have been any lower than #5 or #6. I can just about guarantee you that if not for the NCAA ban, the big time ACC/NC programs would be playing in state or close to home like they usually do. Sure, you can find instances when they don't but more often than not they do get preferential treatment...this is in no way related to whether KU should have lost when it was not supposed to.
Available personnel will dictate how he rolls next season. While the 4-1 has been successful so far, Coach Self has played the 3-2 often enough...and an occasional zone...to surprise opponents.
Bragg was supposed to have a good touch out to the 3 point line and be a potential stretch 4, but I have not seen any of that so far. At this point and absent any big surprises I just don't see Bragg leaving.
Unlikely that Bragg transfers. He has the physical attributes the NBA looks for and he just needs to synchronize his mind to his Hudysized body and he is good to go. If he transfers he will have to sit one season so he would be 2 years at the earliest from joining the League...one good season at KU and he is there, plus nowhere he transfer would give him the exposure he gets at KU.
In like a lamb, out like a lion...I like it...
Only 4 fouls for each team...amazing.
BIFM...
Told you guys...full court pressure...
OU out of time outs...
AFH is crakin'...
All righty then...
I bet WVU disagrees with you..
Ok. Full court press, make them earn it...
When is the last time KU lost two at home in one season?
