I keep telling you all...trust thy Self, he always delivers. I worry about a lot of things but recruiting is not one of them because I know Coach Self will deliver like he always does; there is a reason why he is the winningest coach at AFH.
He played the 3rd most minutes against Duke, so Coach Self already is depending on him heavily, particularly when running the 4-1 scheme.
I get a much, much better plan from Consolidated than TWC and for a lot less money. TWC has laid cable in my are but not quite yet available.
You have to access ESPN3 via Internet browser and the laptop does much better job than the TV; connecting the cell phone directly would require a micro USB to HDMI adapter. I have several spare laptops so I just leave one permanently connected to the Big Screen.
May I offer you some Jayhawks coloring books and crimson and blue crayons?
10-10 for Embiid, 35-10 for Wiggins, 3-3 for Aldrich but he played great defense. 2 Jayhawks with double doubles...I like it.
I don't believe Cox is in the KC metro area.
Here's a list of the Johny's locations...several near 87th and Pflumm. β
I enable the hot spot on my T-Mobile cell phone, disconnect one of my laptops from the home network and connect to the internet via the hot spot, connect to ESPN3 and login using my Consolidated account and It works like a charm. I connect the laptop to the big screen via HDMI cable and I am in business.
Genius. Wouldn't it be a riot if we all show up there....
Nice to see 3 former Jayhawks on the flor at the same time. Solid play from Aldrich, Wiggins making it look easy and Embiid havin a hard time although he had a couple of nice plays. Once Embiid gets enough play time experience he will be a load; his ceiling is very high.
Aldrich playin well and neutralizing Embiid. Wiggins scoring nicely.
During the last timeout he was laying on the floor and the trainers were working on his legs; when he got up he was chugging Gatorade.
I agree. Keep in mind that Devonte played all 40 minutes, Mason was second with 35 and surprisingly Vick was third with 31 minutes.
Any thoughts on Kentucky? I know some don't think UK Is very good but after they destroyed Michigan State by 21 points, it is hard not to consider them a legit top 4 team. UK always has top tier talent and you can underestimate them at your own risk; the game at Rupp wil be extremely difficult to win.
I was watching a podcast from a college scout that follows the Big 12 and while talking about prospects that might not play in college but go overseas, he mentioned that if the prospect is associated with
Under Armour, chances are he will skip college...sounded like a concerted effort by UA to boycott/sabotage college.
It has been known to happen from time to time although it is becoming rarer. It appears the refs have decided they want to be the stars instead of the player...I guess the bought into the old Hollywood adage that there is no such thing as bad publicity.π
Both...
The best refereeing job is when no one talks about the refs after the game. When there is a lot of talk about the refereeing, it is a clear indication that they did a poor job.
I am not Jaybate either but I should point out that if you are talking about PGs only, Mario played SG and not PG in his last season at KU (RussRob was the PG) and Hinrich also played SG in his Junior and Senior years (Aaron Miles was the PG). The both played PG in the NBA.
As far as a PG-SG combination, I would have to go with JoJo and Kirk; however, if Mason continues playing like he has this season, he would move to the top,
I told you all that the referees would dictate how the game went. Think about it, KU is not and has not been a team that thrives on fouls but look at the stats. KU was whistled for 26 fouls and a Duke for 22 and you can say that is not really a big difference but when you look a the free throws it is 9-19 for KU and 21-30 for Duke.
While the difference on the number of fouls was not big the difference on the type of foul called was much larger and Duke got 12 more points at the line than KU...if KU shoots 100% from the line still does not have as many points as Duke from the line.
I was watching the game with friends and it was the running joke that every time they called a foul on Duke a BS foul against KU would follow and most every time it did; even Bilas could not justify several of them and he has been a long time advocate of changing the rules to further "sissify" the game as it were. Last night's refereeing was joke that made the game unwatchable and would not allow either team to establish any kind of tempo, and when KU did and took a large lead they quickly put an end to that. As usual, Coach Rat Face was getting on the refs faces from the get go and it worked. As good a coach as he is, I hate when he resorts to that type of tactics; I just don't like him much.
I posted before that KU needed to be 15 points ahead with 3 minutes so as not get the game given to Duke by the refs...well it was closer than that and it took a magnificent shot from Mason to win the game.
The media will say what they want anyway and 50% of the time they will be wrong...or 100% in politics. π
They might have had 3 players missing but the refs more than made up for that, don't you think?
Wealthy booster probably decided to open the wallet...
I told you the refs would determine the outcome of the game.
I think the outcome of this game will be determined in great part by how the game is called.;quick whistles to key players could determine which team's starting players stay in longer. Logic would indicate that this type of scenario would favor KU since key Duke players will not be playing anyway; however, when is the last time refs did not favor Duke? In a close game, the refs will find a way to help Duke win; the only way to neutralize them is to keep a 20 point lead through out the game to prevent end of game shenanigans.
The line has now settled at 2 for Duke (3:00 PM Central)
Wait until he faces Embiid, his stare alone made him flop, what is he going to do when Embiid posterizes him?
No, this are the real facts. From the Snopes transcript you cited:
RODRIGUEZ: Many of the millennials, Dreamers, undocumented citizens -- and I call them citizens because they contribute to this country-- are fearful of voting. So if I vote, will immigration know where I live? Will they come for my family and deport us?
You can easily read that she is referring to Illegal aliens which this administration had decided to call them undocumented citizens. I am sorry but this is BS. A person that has entered this country illegally or is staying illegally is not and undocumented citizen, he or she is an illegal alien. Even a person that has entered this country legally, is here legally and has a green card is not allowed to vote, that privilege is reserved for American Citizens. It does not make a difference if they are here legally and "contribute to this country", if they are not "citizens" they cannot vote, period. If they want to vote they need to become American citizens or else not vote. This is the law of the land and as far as I know we are still a country of laws.
There are now reports that as many a 3 million illegal aliens voted in this election making a mockery of our laws. Apparently the Government thinks that you need to show ID if you need to drive, cash a check, write a check, get food stamps, collect welfare, buy liquor or even cigarettes but you do not need one to do the most important thing we do a citizens, vote and elect public officials. What is wrong with this picture?
I am sorry about the rant but this is an issue that hits close to home and I have little tolerance for people that want to jump in front of the line and get rights they are not entitled to or have not earned. My last word on the subject and now back to KU basketball.
Yep. Many millennials will have to stop playing video games in their parent's basements and get real jobs.
If not for a few bad call and a couple of tough breaks KU beats Indiana and this is game for the ages and the legend of Frank becomes lore among KU faithful...oh well.
In a perfect world he should have gotten a visit from the Attorney General indicating that he s is breaking the law...yeah, right. The Bar Association would normally get involved but both, he and his wife, surrender their law licenses a while back.
IMHO, Frank is every bit good as Sherron was and more disciplined to boot. One thing to consider is how good of a rebounder he is; he is rebounding as well or better than players several inches taller, so this might sway some manager to take a chance on him as his lack of height is offset by his uncanny ability to play taller.
I am glad I am not the only one that noticed that. I kept thinking he needed a much larger polo shirt.
Duke opened a 3.5 point favorite in Vegas...maybe they know something we don't or maybe Coach Rat Face is playing possum?
You are not considering the huge number of illegal...and no, they are not "undocumented" they are illegal...Hispanic voters that have come to Texas in the last 8 years and voted for Hillary, obviously encouraged by President Obama that told them they could, a statement that left every law abiding citizen speechless.
Grayson, Jefferson, Kennard and Jackson would start for just about every team in the Division I. This one heck of a lineup; however, this is one game where we might be able to win the attrition war...if the refs start calling every play a foul. Having said that, the chances of that happening to a short handed Duke team are infinitesimal.
If Lucas is a "MAJOR liability" then KU is in serious trouble. Outside of Mason and Graham he is the most dependable player in the team. What we are seeing is Lucas being double or triple teamed because Bragg is not asserting himself and teams are leaving him alone. Once he starts to produce, opponents will have to guard him and Lucas will be a lot more productive.

Actually it is quite irrelevant. Don't mean to argue. Just find your argument unpersuasive.
...as I do yours, so let's agree to disagree and see what happens in the next few weeks.
A funk is Bragg trying to learn to use his newly acquired physique while learning the system and trying to live up to the expectations. A couple of solid games and he will be gold. Absolutely nothing physically wrong with him...more of a head problem, in my opinion, of course..
All I have to say is the he should spout his personal politics and believes in his own time and keep them off the work place, i.e. the football field and locker room. This is what we all are expected to do with our real jobs that likely require more effort and pay a hell of a lot less and pay for the ridiculous salaries athletes get. Like a lot of people I know that have been turned off by these crybabies, I will watch the Chiefs only if I don't have any thing better to do.
It is not at all irrelevant. Last year Perry got the double team treatment and Lucas had more room to maneuver and rebound. This year Lucas is being doubled teamed because Bragg is nowhere in sight to help and thus his number are lower. It is really that simple but if you prefer to think it is because a secret injury that Coach Self has failed to disclose, then by all means you can have it.

Talk of possibly under- and un- reported injuries comes from:
--DG grabbing an unreported hamstring, in addition to whatever cramping may have been reported;
Unreported hamstring? You are jumping to conclusions based on no evidence. What I saw is consistent with cramping that Coach Self has reported and apparently is still bothering him. Coach Self has indicated that Graham will play against Duke. β
--saying Lucas has just a "sore foot" despite wearing a boot off the floor and some kind of apparatus in the last game that makes his shoe bulge while he favors that side and underperforms for 3 straight games including two D-II teams;
Have you considered that not having Perry Ellis and playing with a very green Bragg has contributed to his sub par performances? Does he have a sore foot? Yes, Coach Self has indicated that much and this is why he is wearing the boot to help him recover faster and prevent further injury. If you watch the team photos, there are 2 other players also wearing boots. If he had a serious injury he would not be playing the minute he did, no way. The main problem is KU players are not boxing opposing players out and you have Lucas fighting against 3 or 4 other players for rebounds; again, not having Perry allowed IU to concentrate on Lucas inside...do we miss Perry yet? This was typical...
--Bragg getting few rebounds in three games and taking few jump shots and getting few dunks or blocks suggesting an unreported injury is keeping him from getting up;
Bragg is on a "funk" as Coach Self indicated and has been widely reported and his lack of performance is not due to injury but just not being in the right place at the right time. If you recall, players such as Alexander and Diallo and a lot of the newer players have had the same issue...remember TRob in his freshman year?. Coach Self's system is not simple and Bragg has not played enough to be comfortable. I saw no health issues...unless yo call not quite understanding the system a health issue.
--the best recruit in the country going 3-11 and only occasionally being able to get up; and
The best recruit is a green freshman still learning the system and playing his first game against an elite team. I did not see any sign of injury whatsoever.
--Coleby going from a few minutes vs. D-II team's to no minutes vs a big IU team we got in foul trouble against and were facing with a gimpy Lucas and so could have used at least the same few minutes Coleby gave previously.
Self has indicated several times that Coleby is not at full strength, so he obviously has disclosed his condition.
I didn't watch Vick, so not sure on him.
Vick looked as fit as he can be...
Regardless, when Tyler starts playing in a close game one wonders about injuries to other perimeter guys.
Four starters had fouled lout at that time and he had to play who he had available to try to match up as well as he could with the other team. Is this the lineup you want at the end of games? NO, Who would you have played instead of Tyler Self?.
KU did much better in the first half and MU in the second. Both teams had chances to score but missed. The level of play was much lower than I expected; somewhat surprised by that.
Austin, Texas is the most liberal ciy in that state in the same way that Lawrence is in Kansas, I understand that KU provided therapy/comfort dogs to distraught students. β. I don't believe Austin is representative of Texas any more than Lawrence is of Kansas.
They are. I have seen several.
The women's soccer team is playing Misery in the NCAA, score is 0-0 at half time. Being streamed live at kuathletics.com.
Are we missing Perry yet?π
Two players are 6'-3" and the rest are all 6'-5" or taller. That is one tall team.
I agree. As I mentioned in my post rebounding is a big issue and it has nothing to do with size, which KU has. It has to do with not boxing out and getting in position to rebound. If you looked under the KU basket after a IU miss, it was like Grand Central Station with 3 or 4 IU players that had no business being there and should have been boxed out. I am sure Coach Self will be working on that.
Coach Self has been open about injuries, he has indicated that Devonte is having issues with cramping, Coleby is not fully recovered, just to name a couple. I don't understand where the talk that he is hiding injuries comes from, it certainly questions Coach Self honesty.
I posted this on another thread but seem more applicable here.
At this point KU is a work in progress. All the pieces are there but they are not fully operational yet. Positioning for rebounds and rebounding in general needs work. No question it is hard to stop a team that is in the zone from the 3, like Indiana was, but there has to be a contingency plan anyway.
The guards are fine but Devonte does not seem to be 100% and the cramping issue apparently has not been resolved. This team will go as far as Masonβs legs take it.
The referring sucked and, from my biased perception, it looked like the critical bad calls went against KU. I cannot recall when is the last time 4 starters fouled out for KU. I suspect we will be seeing more Lightfoot in the future; he was in a very short time but was solid and could give meaningful rest time to the players we need on the court at crunch time.

On a happier note, Embiid scores 16 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter to lead the sixes to their first win of the season.
