iU made 15 3s, KU 7, that is a 24 point differential right there. They will likely not get that lucky again.
If you think these refs were bad, wait until you get a load of the ones for the Duke game...
When is the last time 4 KU players fouled out.
2 defensive stops win the game...
We are in big foul trouble. Lucas, mason, Jackson with 4...
Quite likely...
Lucas, Jackson, Mason with 4 fouls...
All effing ball...
Frank is willing the team to win....
Just joined the thread....is it me or are refs terrible.
I would love to see that win while winning the NCAA Championship.
I would think that the team doctor and trainers make the decision...and Coach Self just goes along with it. I seriously doubt Coach Self would override the team doctor and/or trainers if they determine he should not play. After the Embiid fiasco, I would think they are ubber cautious.
Sexton to Alabama...not much of a surprise...
Did not say KU was recruiting him, just reporting the ESPN Recruit Special....Sexton is next...
Live on ESPN...#8 Gary Trent to Duke...
Look at the Indiana thread, @Crimsonorblue22 spotted two and I found a third one,
Didn't Xavier Henry posterized Withey as well? KU players cannot let this become a tradition...LOL...

There are 3 members of the team wearing walking boots. It could well be something new they are trying even for very simple and temporary injuries...I don't know, just surprised to see 3 of them wearing the walking boot.
The match up withe Grayson Allen will be key. Coach Self might choose to let him go wild and control the other players; it would not be the first time an opponent has had a career day but his team lost anyway. If I were a betting man I would say we beat Duke somewhat comfortably and likely lose to UK...they will be wanting payback for last season's loss and they will have the crows all ginned up. If KU wins both games it will become the odds on favorite, not something I would want so early in the season, although the UK game is till ways away.
We are making a lot of assumptions without having actual facts. Shouldn't we trust that Coach Self and the training staff know what they are doing? After all, he has a much larger vested interest in the health of the team than we do, right?
I guess we will find out soon enough. The KU-Duke and UK-MSU games should answer a lot of questions...heck, the KU-Indiana game will answer many questions for us...

it appears there are 3 member of the team wearing walking boots; maybe they got a good deal on them and they are just trying them out. LOL.
Keep in mind that this is the same East Coast MSM that predicted Hillary would win in landslide...here is hoping that their Duke prediction is every bit as good as their election prediction. ROFLMAO.

It seems like one call from Tar Black would change the outcome.
"Tar" Black? Freudian slip?
Maybe 3? if you look at the picture around the big gun, the player is wearing the booth on his right leg. If you look at the picture of the players walking, there are two with boots, both on the left leg, one appears to be a white individual. It could be a staff member or maybe they had a special on walking boots and it is the new fashion statement. LOL.
I believe this is where the information comes from, i.e. the other forum:
HONOLULU — Kansas coach Bill Self said Wednesday, before the Jayhawks fulfilled their military duties at Pearl Harbor, that senior forward Landen Lucas was wearing a walking boot on his right foot as a preventative measure and that Lucas was not in jeopardy of missing Friday’s season opener against No. 11 Indiana.
Self said Lucas was a full participant during the Jayhawks’ 90-minute practice session Wednesday morning and that there was no evidence of a stress fracture at this time.
The Kansas Jayhawks toured Pearl Harbor and participated in a kid's clinic at the naval base.
“It’s nothing but a sore foot,” said Self, noting that there was no stress fracture. “They just don’t want it to become one.”
A reasonable person would think that if there was any concern he would have sat the practice, don't you think? So, it looks like there is really nothing serious at this time, speculations to the contrary notwithstanding.
I was only able to see Wilt's games toward the end of his career. Most of what I know about Wilt I learned only after I moved to Lawrence, Kansas in the mid 70s and became a Jayhawk fan. The more I read about him, the more I am convinced that he was the most gifted athlete of my generation and perhaps of all time. Kareem and Bird were always my favorites, in part because I followed their careers from beginning to end, but Wilt might overtake them some day.
Most flight prices are heavily dependent on where you fly from. If you fly from a hub, you have a lot more options and much better pricing; it also depends where you are flying to. Because of its location, Kansas City seems to have better pricing than most cities but the price depends where you fly to. If I am flying to the West or East coast, Southwest tends to have the better prices; however, if I am flying to Denver, Frontier and United are by far the lowest...of course you fly on older, smaller planes. Also, if you check bags, you have to pay extra except on Southwest and it can save you up to $50 each way.
Not really,. The device measures the difference between the two high points, all the "stretching is below the second high point. If you look at the picture the tip of his toes are well below 46" but the difference between the two high points is indeed 46". In basketball they want to know how high you can stretch your finger tips to rebound, dunk or block a shot and it does not make a difference how high your feet are off the ground; this is what block jumping does not apply to basketball...if does if you are trying to jump over a car though. You can have a 5' players that jumps 36" and he will barely get to the reach of a of a 7' player standing.
I could draw a few pictures that illustrate the process but is it really worth it? We see it somewhat differently and it does not really matter whether either one is correct...heck, we could both be wrong, it really is not a big deal. Like @nuleafjhawk said, let's agree that...Wilt was going to block your shot, grab the rebound, beat you down the court and dunk the ball.
Sounds like Wiggins read your post; keep posting...I mean seriously, and he will be POY. LOL.
With that device you have to take two measurements, the first is standing on the ground with the arms fully extended and then you take a measurement on the maximum elevation reached by moving the vanes at the top of the jump, either from a standing position or with a running start; the difference is the vertical elevation. This is how it is measured in the NBA combine. The picture is Wiggins at the combine.
...and this is why this game is a toss up and the loser likely goes 0-9 in conference.
I saw that. Kendris has had a good run with the Royals but he is getting close to the end of his career; a 3 year contract is likely the best offer he will get.
I agree and maybe these expectations are weighing heavy on him and messing him up mentally. A couple of good games and he get his confidence back and hopefully he turns into the player we all hope he will be.
Hosmer has indicated that he would like to stay in KC, so he might be able to stay for a lower salary than he would get somewhere else. I am not saying that he will but it is possible; at some point, players that are well ofF will choose to play in place where they are comfortable and that will contend.
Both Jackson and Svi are true 6'-8"; look at the pictures and you will see that they do not have inches added.. Also, they are both superior athletes that can outrun, outmaneuver and probably outrebound many if not most PFs.. I don't see a problem at the offensive end but there could be some at the defensive end but the new foul rules might have a bigger influence anyway.
Svi and Jackson are true 6'8" players...that is not bad height and Mason is the best under 6' rebounder I have seen in a long time.
Don't forget that KU also has 6'-10" Evan Maxwell next year...
I am not sure I would call it cheating. Box jumping is just a different type of measurement and one that is really not applicable to Basketball.
While teams have to look at budgets, they also have to make sure they do not lose the fan base. Losing Hosmer, Moose and Salvy would have huge backlash from the fan base and alienate it big time.
KU has a knack of letting opposing players go for career highs; let's hope this is not one of those games.
Whatever.
You might have hit the nail on the head. Luckily Coach Self has pretty high standards and most players that plan to come and not perform outside the court, like Simmons, will likely not pick KU. After the Diallo eligibility fiasco, I am sure the program is a lot more careful and will not pursue a player that is at risk of not being cleared; Diallo costed KU a fair chunk of change, created a huge distraction and the benefit was minuscule, as we all know
What is your problem?
First you indicate that he became a Jayhawk which we know was not correct, Then, when I mentioned that he was a 3 year All-American, unanimous on his last year and player of the year in all of college basketball, which are all facts, you get upset because I express my opinion? Can you name one recent player that was 3 times All-American and also POY? He was not just a very good player, he was a superior player anyway you look at it. I thought this forum was about spreading relevant basketball information and expanding the knowledge base and not confining it to one poster's opinion...
Calvert Cheaney was better than very good, he was a 3 time All-American, consensus first team and player of the year in his senior year and one of the best players ever at Indiana. Picked #6 overall, he never achieved the success in the NBA that he had in college.
Hosmer is the face of the franchise; he will finish his career with the Royals.
Hosmer, Moose and Salvy will be the foundation of whatever team the Royals assemble.
couldn't happen to a nicer rat...
No question about it. His upside is huge.
