Stay safe and stay dry.
The knock on Peters was that he lined up far back so he could see the play developing and had a better shot at an interception and prevented the big gains, on the flip side, he was giving up first down yardage on most plays. Great approach to pad your personal stats but not so good for the team to conced that much yardage.
I am sure his reputation as a team/locker room cancer was well known to other teams and this is why there was very little interest in getting him and the Chiefs were not able to get nearly what they would have had he no been such a disruption on and off the field.

@JayHawkFanToo I'm not disputing the quotes. I'm saying that whatever they have to say about stonefaces, and whatever they're omitting, or whatever narrative they're selling i'm completely uninterested. Rupert Murdoch and his spin rags are dead to me.
I may even see the situation the same way. But I don't want to be fed an opinion.
Would this editorial ↗ from the New York Times be better?
He looks huge.
The overseas press pretty much agrees with the article I posted, the MSM here is more interested in the political, women’s rights, she is a mother now angle and naturally overlooking the bad parts. Again, watch the video and draw your own conclusions.
Here is an interesting question in view of how everybody seems to have OU at the bottom. In spite of his big numbers, was Trae Young a net positive or a net negative to the program? By catering to one player to the detriment of the team, did Lon Kruger damaged his career and coaching reputation?
FWIW, I also think KSU will have a very good, battle tested team that will KU a tough game but KU will win.
The video is widely available and the lines were taken verbatim; you can always find it and verify...maybe Jaybate can help you with that.
At least Zenger will not making that selection.
Me too. Kids and/or the families that do not follow the well known and widely publicized rules and try to game the system have no one to blame.
The NCAA processes over 100,000 requests for certification every year and the great majority go through without a hitch since they are true student athlete that attended accredited public schools all 4 years, have good grades and graduated without any issues. The problem is with elite athletes that move from school to school, many pretty shady, and whose academic records are spotty or suspect because their primary interest was sports and not school work. Unfortunately all the attention goes to those few dozen student athletes with issues and not to the other hundred thousand that sailed through.
The NCAA has a well established set of rules and I will guess that privacy laws prevent them from being more forthcoming. I am sure the programs themselves get a lot more information from the NCAA than we know.
I respectfully disagree. Her actions throughout the match were disrespectful to Osaka. When you tell the umpire...you are stealing points from me... by extension implies he was favoring her opponent with is extremely disrespectful to the opponent who was soundly beating her. Keep in mind that Osaka had beaten Serena previously and Serena could not stomach being schooled...again...by a 20 year old.
Here is snippet from the article above...
Osaka accepted her trophy while choking back tears. She never smiled. When asked if her childhood dream of playing against Williams matched the reality, she politely sidestepped the question.
“I’m sorry,” Osaka said. “I know that everyone was cheering for her and I’m sorry it had to end like this.”
She turned to Williams. “I’m really grateful I was able to play with you,” Osaka said. “Thank you.” She bowed her head to Williams, and Williams just took it — no reciprocation, no emotion.
Now, that is class and it does not sound like she was very impressed with Serena's behavior.
No doubt crazier things have happened. I am just saying KU's schedule and personnel do not lend themselves to crazy things happening. 2-10 seems possible and maybe they can steal one or two games and make it 3-9 or even 4-8 but anything over 3 games would be a big surprise and 4 wins almost a shock...a good one though.
I will guess that KU was hoping for restitution and a few games suspension vis-a-vis the car but, once the FBI investigation was uncovered, KU was blindsided by the potential extent.
Did you hear the one that Kaepernick is like Al Bundy, he could not play pro football so he sells shoes.
One more bit of nformation...Williams = Nike, Osaka = Adidas.
Cue in Jaybate with his conspiracy theory du jour.

Cannot count Huggy out and Smart has wasted talent before and with a bottom half finish his seat gets very hot. TCU has a lot of upside and ISU will have good talent but Prohm has yet to prove he can run with the top dogs.

When after being correctly warned you tell the umpire:
“You owe me an apology. I have never cheated in my life. I have a daughter and I stand for what is right.”
“You are attacking my character and you owe me an apology. You are a liar. You will never umpire on a court of mine as long as you live. Give me my apology. You stole a point from me and you’re a thief too.”
You cannot possibly think there will not be consequences and she was also assessed a $17k fine afterwards. From this article... ↗
Everything that followed is on Williams, who is no stranger to tantrums. Most famously, she was tossed from the US Open in 2009 after telling the line judge, “I swear to God I’ll take the f—king ball and shove it down your f—king throat.” John McEnroe was taken aback. Even Williams’s mother, Oracene Price, couldn’t defend her daughter’s outburst.
“She could have kept her cool,” Price said.
More importantly, the way Osaka was treated was disgraceful.
At the awards ceremony, Osaka covered her face with her black visor and cried. The crowd booed her. Katrina Adams, chairman and president of the USTA, opened the awards ceremony by denigrating the winner and lionizing Williams — whose ego, if anything, needs piercing.
“Perhaps it’s not the finish we were looking for today,” Adams said, “but Serena, you are a champion of all champions.” Addressing the crowd, Adams added, “This mama is a role model and respected by all.”
What exactly does being a mother has to do with tennis or the issue at hand? What would be the reaction if a man uses the same argument?
Now comparing what men and women get away with is a straw man argument. Men do not play women in singles and as long as both players are being treated the same way and the rules are enforce fairly the issues is moot; for perfect equality maybe women should start playing 3 out of 5 instead of 2 out of 3 sets. This the equivalent of comparing refereeing in the NBA and the WNBA, the men’s game is more physical and thus a more physical games is allowed. If fouls are being called unequally (see most Duke’s games) then I see a problem but if both teams are being called equally there is much less of an issue.
I know a few will claim I am anti-women even when it is not the case and I suggest you read the article by Martina Navratilova I posted earlier which very thoughtfully goes over the events and dispels some of the inequality myths.
Perfect. :thumbsup_tone2:
My point was that it’s record notwithstanding, FSU had a lot of talent to win the last 3 games, 2 of which were gimmes. KU does not have that level of talent and the last 3 games will be considerably tougher; in fact, other than the Rutgers game, KU will be the underdog for all the remaining games. Do you really think KU wins 5-6 games this season? I certainly would hope and like if they do but I just don’t think it will happen. It is not like Beaty suddenly will become a great coach or the players will start performing way above their talent, right?
In all fairness it is not the same situation, 2 of the last 3 games for Florida State were a postponed game against 4-8 UL Monroe and 2-9 Delaware State both of which they were heavily favored and Florida State was a talented team albeit one in disarray. After the Rutgers game KU will be the underdog in every remaining game and the chances of wining 4 or 5 more games while not impossible we probably agree it is highly unlikely.

After what has happened to Selby, Alexander, Diablo, and Preston, just at KU, it seems like fans ought to mentally prepare—maybe even predictively program—themselves for which will be the five most talented players squandered by what increasingly appears a morally bankrupt eligibility process.
Why do you call it a morally bankrupt eligibility process? The rules are clearly spelled and all the players that follow the rules (which is the great majority) go through the process without any issues. The process is in place to make sure all school are on a level playing field. Players (or their families/guardians) that don’t follow the rules have no one to blame but themselves.
Now...who is this “Diablo” player you speak of? Isn’t he a natural candidate for the Duke Blue “Devils” or Kentucky, since Calipari likely already has a pact with him? I prefer we take someone like Jesus Shuttlesworth.
The demolition industry is one of the more heavily regulated businesses and federal law requires that all asbestos must be removed prior to demolition/implosion.
Here is a well thought out article ↗ by Martina Navratilova.
No doubt. At this time, the only winnable games seems to be Rutgers...maybe...
They have to considering how much audience they have lost.
Agreed. Any one that thinks the KU football program should be eliminated really does not know much about KU or college sports.
Preston had been declared eligible until KU found something odd about his car and reported it to the NCAA. As far as I remember, Preston was really not declared ineligible by the NCAA, in an abundance of caution KU simply chose not to play him waiting for a ruling from the NCAA which did not come and once Preston left it became moot. Same case with Alexander who was never really declared ineligible but probably would have been given enough time.
Yep. Football has huge untapped potential while basketball is pretty close to maxed out.

Thanks for the link. Great info on other athletes that excelled at KU that were not part of the basketball or football programs.
KU did not play Preston at a time when it desperately could have used him and I don't see playing Silvio unless its is crystal clear he is eligible. Yes, if he does not play he would be missed, how can he not be? Fortunately, KU now has enough depth to compensate.
We will have a much better idea by the end of the month.

Not everybody does it but I did not say that either, right? BTW, pot is readily available in California. ↗
Do you really think that KU would One - replace AFH? and Two - build an arena with over 4 times the capacity of Rupp, the current leader in attendance that does not even sell out with what many consider one of the more loyal fan bases in college basketball and located in a market area several time larger than Lawrence and with capacity 20K+ larger than the largest attendance for a college basketball...ever?
It is so far off the realm of reality that drugs would seem like a valid explanation. Can you come up with better one?
Mitch looks a lot bigger than last season.
TCU and OSU have looked pretty good and TCU is ranked #15 (right after #14 WVU) and OSU #24

Your unsupported, magical assertions about KU basketball revenues are NOT persuasive.
KU Basketball revenues are maxed out?
That’s so thought-free!
KU could easily build a 50-100k seat basketball arena of the kind the NCAA Carney uses and charge double what is charged now per seat and charge corporations 5-10 times times more per corporate boxes on 10 maybe 30 times the boxes for KU basketball. Pay per view could be jacked way up. Hell, they could have the silly, pathetic, brain damaging football team play in the same arena.
KU could easily build a 50-100k seat basketball arena? How many time must you jump the shark?
First, AFH, the cathedral of basketball will never be replaced.
Second, where would you get 100K to attend a basketball game for every game at double of what is charged now? The largest per game audience in college basketball is Kentucky at 23, 461 which is less than a sellout and Lexington where Rupp Arena is located has a population of 340,000 and its own metro area of over 600,000; in comparison, the population of Lawrence is 87,000. The second largest per game attendance is Syracuse with 21,000 which fills only 60% of the Carrier Dome capacity of 35,000 and the city population is twice that of Lawrence and its own Metro area id 660,000. The attendance for the 2018 NCAA Final game was 67,000. The largest attendance ever for a college basketball game was the so called "Basket Bowl" between Michigan State vs. University of Kentucky in 2003 which was held at Ford Field in Detroit and had an attendance of 78,129...do you see the trend?
Wait, wait, wait, I know where you can get 100k attendance for every home game at twice the cost...planet Jaybate.
I know you live in California but you need to quit hitting the bong.
The women’s basketball team had a decent two year run a few years ago with w Sweet 16 trips tat ended with loses to the # 1 and 2 ranked teams.

The women’s track and field team won the National outdoor Title in 2013. The women’s golf and tennis teams have done well although they have been outsourced and the great majority of athletes are foreigners. The Volleyball teams has had recent steady success.
Reality is that women’s sports have very little appeal and tiny audiences and they all work at a loss. The UConn women’s basketball program, arguably the most successful College sport program in recent memory with 10 national titles in this century alone, still works at a loss.
There are two primary college sports that show profit, football and basketball and football profits are much larger. Every other sport, with a few isolated exceptions, loses money. You will get a positive ROI by improving these two programs, everything else is a wash or a loss.
You are still clueless. Basketball is pretty much maxed out in term of revenue while football can increase revenues manyfold with a decent program.
I was thinking along the lines of constitutionalists versus activists...but we all see things differently.
Does not seem like a good formula for ongoing success.
You really don’t see the difference between the two definitions?
I did not watch the game but looking at the stats they look pretty lopsided in favor of San Diego; how exactly did the Chiefs win?
Another interesting note is how much more the basketball program spends per player, about 6 times what the football program spends per player. I guess those new digs are expensive.
I was talking about Moore not Dotson. I am counting on Dotson taking over the position and if he stays more than one year, we will see a super successful program player.
