Jackson's number are not bad (except rebounding) but the team is free falling. Not really a lot of talent, coach fired after 3 games and now Eric Bledsoe sent home and not playing and apparently being traded. Too bad Jackson and Mason ended up in two of the worst franchises.
Kyle Wiltjer numbers got much better once he got to Gonzaga; much better set up for his skills than Kentucky
Spot on on Westbrook and Anthony; great individual players but their teams don't seem to benefit...of course Syracuse did. :frowning2:
On the other hand, Kelly Oubre rebounding like crazy...

Ooops. I though it was a really good analogy.
Respectfully, you are missing the forest for the trees. The main problem with KU's offense is not the QB, the main problems is the OL. You can play Tom Brady and it would still suck because he would be running for his life and not finding open receivers and when he does they do not catch the ball and the running game is equally as bad. Playing Stanley, who has not shown much to date and who the coaching staff obviously believes is not as good, will not solve the issue. Fix the OL first and then deal withe QBs.
Somewhat similar issue withe Chiefs where some want to blame Alex Smith, who has been very good, where the real problem is the defense that cannot seem to stop a pass it their lives depended on it.
I agreed with your post. Mine was referring to something @KUSTEVE wrote, as I clearly mentioned, and no relation to your post. Sorry if you took it that way, would you like me to delete my post?
@HighEliteMajor and I disagree on the issue but it does not mean we are having fight. I disagree with him but respect his opinion and some of the points he makes are valid, I would only hope he feels the same way.
Spot on. I believe @KUSTEVE wrote that it was like hooking up with your former wife after many years; pretty good until you remember why you got divorced in the first place and then it becomes "coyote love ↗."
Fesco is still butt hurt from KU sports moving to 810AM and home of K-Stater and KU hater Kevin Kietzman.
A few things that have been mentioned by several posters that others seem to overlook.
Exhibition games must be against non Division I programs so that rules out MU as a regular exhibition game. Even it it were allowed, then you would have to restrict the rotation of the smaller Kansas schools for whom this game is the main source of income for the year. The backlash would be huge so it cannot happen.
The game was one-of-a-kind game and thus a waiver was required. Highly unlike the NCAA makes it a routine/on going deal so the game would have to be scheduled as as regular season game. Granting more waivers would open Pandora's box of trouble and I just don't see the NCAA going there.
If one game is played yearly, highly unlikely that MU would accept having the game at the Sprint Center. Even when it is in Missouri, the fan base in the KC area is overwhelmingly for KU, thus the game would have to be scheduled as alternating between Lawrence and Columbia. KU would lose the income every time it goes to Columbia and would get no additional income playing in Lawrence since AFH is sold out regardless of opponent. MU would definitely sell out it arena when playing KU, likely the only time it does; net advantage MU. KU would be financially better off having another program to come and play at AFH. More importantly, does KU really want to go and play in Columbia? Do we not remember the horror stories from playing there? KU played there because it had to, not it does not.
At this time, it looks like MU will have a decent team after years of absolutely horrible teams. The first two years in the SEC its record was 11-7, tied for fifth (NCAA first round) and 9-9 , tied for 6th (NIT second round) with players left over from the Big 12 days. The last 3 season alone MU's conference record is a putrid 8-46 finishin last, last and tied for last in the SEC. Had KU played them all these years, the scores would have been very lopsided and would have hurt KU's RPI big time. There are no assurances that MU will stay relevant after the current novelty of a new coach and nepotism based class wears out and Martin leaves after the customary 3 years of declining success. KU would be well served to wait at least wait until the MU program has shown it can stay relevant for a few years and before the second stint of coach Kim Anderson starts.
I hear what you are saying but there are two problems.
First, the NCAA granted this one time waiver and it is unlikely that will do it on an-going basis, even for charity, as it would give the team and extra game and an unfair advantage. I really don't believe you can make it an ongoing yearly charity exhibition game. If the series resumes it will have to be as a regular season game.
Second, you assume MU is a top 25 team which at this time is by no means a certain thing; MU will ride the Porters and other quality recruits for all they are worth and in 3 years Martin moves on and MU goes back to being a dumpster fire.
Just my opinion on the subject and I don't claim to be right.
This was not a regular exhibition game, it was a one-of-a kind deal that needed a special waiver from the NCAA. Highly unlikely the NCAA will do it on a regular basis.
Here are Coach Self thoughts on resuming the rivalry ↗, you can draw your own conclusions.
Bill Self, while a great coach and leader, is wrong on this topic about what’s best for KU. He knows it.
I see you are back to knowing more than Coach Self.
Don’t you think that Coach Beaty knows which QB gives the team the best chance? He sees the players practice every day and he is aware of the strengths and weaknesses of every player, particularly the key ones. If he feels Bender gives KU the best chance then you have to assume that Stanley could actually be worse. Coach Beaty knows his job is on the line and he would be crazy not to play the better players. If he is not playing Stanley it is obvious he feels he would be worse. Just my opinion.
No big deal for me. I still have the game on but no longer paying much attention to it.
Sorry to hear about your dad. You prepare yourself for it and know what to expect but you are really never ready for it.

@JayHawkFanToo So if he Cant do ANY WORSE then let him play - - -good night. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
Did you read where I wrote...
Perhaps you can tell me what Stanley has done to merit playing time…other than -he would not do any worse- of course.
Emphasis on OTHER THAN...
Never mind. I am out.
TCU should have been pinned inside the 5 yard and instead they get a TD...which perfectly illustrates the difference in personnel talent.
This is way past ugly. The Rockford Files sounds really good just about now.😡
So, you would play Stanley just because he would not do any worse? Really? Stanley has had plenty of chances and he did nothing to justify playing time.
Did you see where I wrote:
With the OL and personnel KU has no QB will shine.
Are we watching the same game? As soon as the ball is snapped TCU’s defense is all over. You could play Tom Brady and he would not do much better. KU’s offense has been overwhelmed by TCU’d defense. KU just does not have the personnel to compete with TCU...even if Stanley were to play.
Perhaps you can tell me what Stanley has done to merit playing time...other than -he would not do any worse- of course.
You must then know for a fact that the options are better than Bender? I will guess that Coach knows his team and players better than we do and I will give him the benefit of the doubt. With the OL and personnel KU has no QB will shine.
Thanks. He has been in the Memory Unit for 6 years now. At the beginning he just forgot little things like which the day of the week it was but now he will not even recognize me some days even when he sees me several times a week. Pretty sad.
Actually, I spend Sunday afternoons visiting with my 92 year old dad at his retirement home and with his dementia he has no interest in sports. Considering how little time he has left I see it as a no brainer.
I am not going to the game or buying PPV and likely will not even listen to it unless I am in the car. Not really that big of a deal for me.
There might also be contractual obligation that take precedence.
If you have confidence in your premise it should not be that hard.
Considering how fast tickets sold we can assume each school could have sold out the arena by itself with additional people waiting; that is 20-30 thousand additional fans that would have wanted to watch the game live and would be candidates to buy PPV. If only one third of those do it, that is about 10,000 buys locally. Add another 10,000 per school nationally and you should have 30,000 PPV buys...if the game is as big as you claim. A KU-UK or KU-Duke game would easily sell that many.
As comparison, UFC fights routinely sell well over a million buys at $100. The Maywether-McGregor sold 4.5 million with a revenue of well over $400 million.
I am not sure who is more delusional, Trae thinking that the rebuilding Sooners can win the conference or Myron Medcalf saying that OU is the sleeper team, which will likely finish in the bottom half. You can say that Trae has youthful exuberance and naïveté...but Myron?

I think Mahomes is a complete joke personally, the chiefs don't have a enough big receivers for his just throw it game. I guarantee Mahomes throws considerablely more picks than Smith.
Maybe Mahoney is not quite yet elite but he is by no stretch of the imagination a complete joke. He has the tools and potential to be a great QB with a huge upside. With some experience he will be a very good QB.
Again, if your premise is irrefutable then the PPV audience should be huge, wouldn’t you agree?
On the other hand, if the PPV audience ends up being small then your premise is effectively refuted, again, wouldn’t you agree?
Let’s try this one more time, what is the magic number above which your premise is valid or below which is not? Not really a hard question...🤔
Ok, fair enough. Would you care to answer the question I had for @HighEliteMajor about how many PPV buys it would take to prove or disprove the point?
What number of PPV buyers do you believe would make your case? 10,000? 50,000? 100,000? How few would it take to disprove your premise? Less than 10,000? 5,000?
When I stream games through my cell phone hot spot the meter shows only in the low hundred MB maybe even less, not even close to GB. ESPN3 stream is low res.
Careful there...you might give @jayballer54 a heart attack.
Three other conference teams are replacing them so not really much of a drop.
He is 18 so I think he might be eligible for the G-League although I am not sure if they still require the 1 year wait. He can always go play at a prep-school in Canada like Thon Maker; eligibility rules there might be a little more forgiving.
This loss rests squarely on the shoulder of the defense, particularly the secondary which was b_t_h slapped by the Raiders.
You don't need an e-mail for Windscribe but you are capped at 2 Gb per month; with e-mail it is 10 GB per month.
Windscribe is a better option.
I thought actual tickets for the game were $25, except for the very expensive court side ones.
I don't mock your believes, I would appreciate the same courtesy. Actually, you don't need to even address my post at all.
Hola uses a peer-to-peer network. Basically you access the internet through someone else's computer in another location/country and people in other locations/countries can access the internet through yours. Not something I would use.
I don't even know why Oakland tried running plays when the passing was wide...and I mean WIDE open. Even Bender would have had a field day passing.
Only on Sci-fi TV ↗...
There is a huge difference between watching the event live at the arena than on a PPV stream. Typically the actual tickets are considerably more expensive than PPV. Do you really think that it would not have sold out if it was announced it would be on PPV? I personally think it would not have made any difference at all.
Perhaps this thread should be moved to the political side?
It is starting to unravel... ↗
More here ↗...why is Mueller still in charge? The conflict of interest is huge...
Now that Arizona is radioactive, KU has a chance...
You mean he will be the Colin Kaepernick of college basketball?
Will he sue the NCAA like CK is suing the NFL? Inquiring minds want to know.
Well, that puts and end to it.
$40 for a hyped up scrimmage (yes, I know is a charity fund raiser...) is a steep amount for a lot of people and it is really more of a quid pro quo. Considering that a single NBA game is $6.99 and you can buy the entire season for around $120 (?) the PPV seems very high...yes again, I know...it is for charity. I wish they would have made it $10 and they would have had 10 time more people getting it and raising a larger sum in the process. I visited with a several KU fans today and none are getting the PPV but a couple would have at $10.
I contribute/buy constantly tax deductible tickets, school fund raisers, charity events and so on and I don't believe I have ever kept track of those under $100 or claimed them on my taxes and I don't believe I am atypical; most people I know except for very few are the same way so the tax angle is really partially or mostly irrelevant, at least it is for me. Considering that you are getting something for your "contribution" it might not even be tax deductible.
I donate to charities with the lower overhead such as Catholic Charities which consistently has a very low overhead as well as St.Jude's; I no longer donate to the Susan G. Komen fund since it has become very political and donates large sums to organizations that I don't care for and unrelated to their primary objective. Also, any call I get related to the Fraternal Order of Police I hang up since they are for-profit businesses getting the bulk of the money and a tiny fraction going to the Police, basically a legalized scam.
